Technical Support / Re: Account Hijacked
« on: July 01, 2019, 05:26:47 am »
No actually this accident can happen to anyone, the proposal is right there on the UI to accept and an uninformed / fatigued user will make the same mistake

It happened to me on Saturday... I have been using crypto since 2012 and have had a BTS account for many years. I was on OL and had just sent myself a small transfer to a phone wallet, but it was taking longer than usual. So, I checked back to my OL account and saw this new tab "proposal" with pending, I thought oh that's OL checking to make sure I want to send my funds, I even saw Openledger in the name, turns out it was openledger-delagate and a scammer. I checked back an hour later and my account balance was zero... I had been drained of 1.7 BTC converted to 300,000 BTS.

If anyone wants to take a look they can see my account name at kurtduncan

I have asked Openledger if they can refund in a goodwill gesture, but have not heard anything back.

This sort of thing should be switched off by default. I now have no crypto  :-[

It was a scammer using the name openledger-delegate. It was timed to pop up for when I was sending myself a small transaction, so I thought it was a security check.

Are you saying there is a possibility that Open Ledger will be able to recover my funds?

I have asked them for a goodwill gesture, but am not holding my breath. This has been a real financial blow to me and I am struggling to deal with it.

I generally use Open Ledger.

It just said approve this to send your funds...so I thought.

My money is gone right? I'm out, cannot recover...

Ok so I don't really know what I'm doing. I am a bag holder.
How do I know if my account is compromised? It still has a proposal there and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Well, I've just been fu*ked over by this 'proposal scam' and have lost $20,000 USD, my life savings and funds I have built on crypto over the past 7 years. I now have nothing.

I was trying to send a $40 payment to an phone wallet and it was taking a long time, so I checked my account again and saw this 'proposal' with some reference to verification to send funds, so I approved it thinking it was something new to verify my transaction. I had never seen this proposal tab before.

Next thing I know my balance is zero. Whoever was involved in developing this new "feature" which is costing people thousands of dollars due to being scammed, really needs to have a good think about WTF they are doing!

I have contacted OL support. I guess it is pointless asking if there is any chance of getting my money back?

If you want to view my account name it is: kurtduncan

Seriously pissed off!

General Discussion / Re: OpenLedger propose Bitshares 3.0 enhancements

I'd like to see the option to trade all alt coins on Bitshares, then we would become the go to DEX for any trade.

Is this possible?

This has been resolved. No further issues and Muse is a solid platform.

So who do we contact?

Obviously I am not the only one this has affected and it seems like that wallet and this forum have been pretty much ditched for the new wallet and steemit, respectively. This is very disappointing,

Muse/SoundDAC / BEWARE what advice you take on this forum
« on: September 24, 2017, 05:41:11 am »
Hi All,

I have been a fairly long time bag holder of various crypto coins/tokens and wanted to make people aware of a recent situation which I found myself in, by taking advice from a moderator on this forum.

I will dot point the situation for sake of brevity.

- Some time ago I purchased some MUSE tokens, approximately 10,000 in total
- These tokens were not a significant investment, however I did trade some BTS for them as I liked the concept
- My tokens where sitting on OpenLedger where I wanted them to be
- Cob sent out a post advising any Muse investors to get their tokens off any exchange, including OL by a certain date
- The date mentioned was for a "snapshot" where the token block chain would fork.
- Any coins left on any exchange, including OL would be lost after the snapshot
- I contacted Ronny Boesing to question this as I was reluctant to move my tokens off OL
- Ronny confirmed that this did indeed seem to be the case, but would be contacting the Devs at Muse
- I took the advice and moved my tokens from OL to wallet.muse.help for the "snapshot" as it was the OFFICIAL online wallet
- I have gone back to this wallet after the snapshot
- I can log in, but cannot see my balance. The wallet says BLOCKCHAIN IS OUT OF SYNC, PLEASE WAIT UNTIL IT'S SYNCHRONIZED.
- I cannot click the key icon to view my private key as per the tutorial for the "new online wallet"
- Cob has handballed the problem to someone else
- Someone else is telling me that the old wallet is bugged, so it seems I am at a loss.

and... OpenLedger has AWARDED ANY MUSE TOKEN HOLDER WHO STILL HAS OLD TOKENS ON THEIR WALLET THE NEW ONES!

If I had not listened to Cob and done nothing I would still have my tokens. As you can imagine I am not happy.

So BEWARE the advice you read and take here with your investments.

No I don't have it written down.
I have my password and can unlock my account, so didn't think it was an issue.

I don't understand why the key icon is not clickable? The irony is it seems I have lost my tokens by following Cob's advice and moving them off the Openledger exchange, where as if I had left them there they would still be in my possession.

Thank you so much oco101 and Cob! The claim was succesful and new wallet performs perfectly. I should have noticed this "how-to-install-new-muse-wallet-for-dummies"  :o manual by myself...  ::)

For me the only thing clickable on the permissions page is the 'remove' button, which I have not clicked obviously.

Surely this is not a platform issue? I am using Chrome browser on a Chromebook?

Private key has nothing to do with the Blochain being out of sync.
You need to click "SHOW" to see the private key look on the tutorial again you'll see, you should not click on private key as there is no link to click.

I'll get real simple for ya, since we clearly are not on the same page...

In the tutorial at: https://steemit.com/muse/@cob/new-muse-blockchain-web-wallet-ready-to-go

There is a screen shot headed by Once in Permissions, click the little key icon under Owner Permissions

In this screen shot there is a red circle drawn around the "key" icon. The suggestion is you click on it, I KNOW this because it says "click the little key icon".
Except its not clickable in my wallet, which is unlocked.

I know how to obtain a private key, have done it many times, but cannot click through on the icon, as stated in my previous post.

This is the old wallet you should import it to the new wallet. See this post here: https://steemit.com/muse/@cob/new-muse-blockchain-web-wallet-ready-to-go

The private key link does not work, is greyed out... I presume this is because the Blockchain is out of sync as this is not the case in the tutorial screen grabs. Account is unlocked.

Any suggestions?

I have the exact same issue... I was told to move my MUSE out of OpenLedger for the snapshot, or I would lose it.

I did this, now I cannot view it in the online wallet at all...and it seems OpenLedger are now up and running with the new Muse.

So what's happening with the wallet? Cob?

I have several thousand Muse on Openledger DEX, but cannot withdraw it to an external wallet.
I have tried, but have been informed by the dev team that there are issues with it on the DEX and they are "working on it"

So, if I cannot get it off the exchange what happens? Do I still have access to it after the fork or whatever is happening?

you need them sitting in a wallet you control, they will be worthless after the fork
Why will they be worthless?
