General Discussion / Re: Bitshares X and ATMs

i also think it would be a good idea to contract low-cost ATM manufacturers to create bitshares ATMs (china or india)

I would love to see Bitshares ATMs popping up all around the world, crypto is truly the currency and asset class of the people. No more visits to large investment banks, appointments, long waiting hours, listening to complex explanations, signing big piles of documents and at the end of it you get a 1% return

All you need to do is visit a bitshares ATM (or online exchange), deposit cash and buy! And use Keyhotee to secure your ID.

So much potential, i love being part of this revolution.

I believe Mastercoin has an implementation addressing this issue. I haven't read if Bitshares has this feature anywhere, but one thing Dan has always mentioned is decentralized "justice" being part of the bitshares vision, so it's possible we have this feature planned somewhere down the line.

You might have to check with Brian and get his blessing on this as he's running the marketing for Bitshares.

Why just an offer oyu can take or not. The offer in itself is not rediculous...

unnecessary risk ..

I also met with the Hive wallet guys (the funds behind Ethereum) in an effort to partner with them to produce the BitShares wallet.   They ended up going with Ethereum.

We were also actively talking with the KriptoKit developers prior to launch with an interest toward building a web wallet for BitShares... they seem to be going some other way.

So from where I sit it isn't a lack of reaching out to these players, they all seem to have their own momentum and biases that seem to get in the way of working with us.

Fortunately we have players in our field that are stepping to take the opportunities these other guys passed on.

KryptoKit is owned by one of the founders of Ethereum if i'm not mistaken.

Anyway, i'm not worried with the marketing at the moment. I think Bitshares did a good job at Miami, we have a solid website, good branding, nice friendly community and a good funding model. You guys have to keep in mind that people go with the hype. Right now Ethereum is getting a lot of exposure so everyone is jumping that ship.

I strongly believe Bitshares will be the rising Dark Horse of crypto, i used to work in business development and i've seen this happen to many times.

Hype does not equal to guaranteed success! Fundamentals are key and we have a solid foundation being built here.

BitShares PTS / ProtoShares holding ground in the face of the Storm

I've been observing Protoshares prices movement compared to other Altcoins and i'm impressed how it was able to hold in the $10-$14 despite the vast MAJORITY of Altcoins losing significant value. Even with today's $100/Bitcoin flash crash and the Gox news.

This seems to be a great indicator of investor confidence in Bitshares, more buyers and holders than sellers  :)

I noticed how protoshares held very well in the recent selling mania, it wouldn't go below $10 and held well in terms of price in BTC. Shows that a lot of people are buying and holding and buying even more!
