Technical Support / Re: Why can't I withdraw from BitShares Wallet??
« on: December 07, 2017, 01:01:30 pm »
If you are talking about OPEN.BTC this might be relevant https://blog.openledger.info/2017/12/06/due-to-the-maintenance-works-deposits-and-withdrawals-are-temporarily-unavailable/

Apparently openledger has deposit-withdrawals issues currently. I am sure that they will soon be resolved though..After all this happens to all centralized exchanges from time to time and usually when we don't want this to happen..

Openledger / Deposits and withdrawals in Openledger
« on: December 07, 2017, 11:45:31 am »
Since last night I made a couple of deposits in Openledger which although have been confirmed on the blockchains with thousand confirmations, funds have not hit my account yet as of the time of writing.
I have opened a support ticket to which they have responded a couple of minutes ago saying that there are technical issues with deposits and withdrawals.

https://blog.openledger.info/2017/12/06/due-to-the-maintenance-works-deposits-and-withdrawals-are-temporarily-unavailable/

Is this a joke? If there are technical issues Openledger should NOT have shown addresses for deposits, SHOULD have a flag message on the client that there are technical issues and SHOULD NOT have allowed deposits.

This is really bad service that results in financial losses!!

Forget about O Cash, obits etc etc and fix your other issues first, especially your customer service support!!!

This is unacceptable and I am very pissed off!

I never thought I would say this but maybe bring back Brian Page? I din't like the way he left suddenly the community but he was a sweet talker.. Maybe if he comes back with specific worker proposal and specific goal and timeframe...Don't know if he is interested though since if he was he would have come by now..

Seriously...Can we concentrate on important issues? Where are these bitshares spokespersons now??What are they doing??
Read the spokesperson proposal to understand what the spokesperson is there for ...
It will *NOT* make or lead political decisions within the blockchain ... that's up to the shareholders to do

@xeroc obviously I don't expect any spokeperson to decide about the 5% debate but I was referring for someone to be in touch with Poloniex issue.

So, for protecting shareholders' interests, who will discuss with Poloniex?! Committee members or someone?

The 5% debate: Not going to be discusses by the spokesperson
The Poloniex issue: Going to be descissed by the spokesperson - BBF has reached out to poloniex, but hasn't heard back from them

Glad to hear these news.

good news indeed. Please keep us updated.

General Discussion / Kik might move it's token to a new blockchain
« on: November 16, 2017, 11:07:20 pm »
https://www.coindesk.com/kik-might-move-its-ico-tokens-to-a-new-blockchain/

Does anyone is in contact with them to tell them about bitshares?

@fav  I don't understand why you attack @bitcrab... You do realize that the guy has millions of bitshares in collateral and helps creating millions in bitassets right? I mean no matter what is the price of bts he stills holds the collateral even if he gets margin called when the bts was falling..Now he is creating GDEX and you see this as something bad?? Give him a break..

Secondly I would really like to know also what is happening with Polo and even if many people are asking what is happening no one answers.. This is much more important than raising by 5% the bitcny force settlement. If raising the bitcny force settlement doesn't work, we can and will change it back to where it was. If polo delists bts like bittrex did there will be no recovery of the price after that...

Seriously...Can we concentrate on important issues? Where are these bitshares spokespersons now??What are they doing??

I am curious how witnesses get their feeds... The only centralized exchange trading bts is poloniex and  AEX.
Normally the feed should be according to the weighted volume of each exchange including the internal DEX trading. I hope you do this.

Now that Poloniex has issues with bts withdrawals and deposits I believe feed SHOULD NOT take into account at all the price from Poloniex until the issue is resolved. If you guys take feeds from Polo now then this is extremely dangerous!!!

I can not comment on AEX yet..

Feed should be endogenous and not exogenous now until polo fix its problems and should be based from the internal DEX trading imho..

In regards to this proposal I have not decided if it should have been approved but my initial thought says that force settlement should not have been raised by 5% and instead the feed should have been adjusted accordingly..

Finally, does anyone has an update of what is the status with Polo and when the issue is expected to be resolved?

Technical Support / Re: Error Message - Failed to broadcast
« on: November 11, 2017, 11:05:29 am »
I think that means that for the account you are trying to transfer you have put multi-sig security and the transaction needs to be signed by the other permitted accounts. I get the same error in GUI.

However I have no idea how to sign from the other account in GUI so the transaction can be processed. If this is not possible in GUI but only in CLI then multi-sig permissions should be removed from GUI. If it is possible someone should make an ELI5 for GUI users..

definitely!! I remember talking a couple of years ago to a colleague who wanted some bitcny and then when we checked the premium he had to pay (which was like 5% not even 10%-20% like in btc) he was laughing and ofcourse didn't proceed..Any attempts to convince him that bitassets are superior to fiat, more secure in terms of storage, he is his own bank, no counterparty risk, no capital controls etc etc where fruitless..

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Compliance Work
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:46:40 am »
when you say "compliant token service" built in bitshares you mean a service like OL to run IOU assets in a compliant way right?
However, theoretically one can fork bitshares, keep bitshares and bitassets creation exactly the same way as currently but in order for people to obtain the new "bts" token they should be KYC within the blockchain. IDs etc will be registered within the blockchain and available for everyone to see and not held from a 3rd party service provider. Full transparency for the whole world to see. I don't know how many people will be comfortable with this but then no one can never no compliance..
Again I haven't thought this through, just pupping ideas out of my head since I am at worked and bored...lol..

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Compliance Work
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:35:04 am »
I haven't decided about this worker proposal but I recognize the importance to be fully compliant if we want bts to become the dominant decentralized exchange.

What I don't understand is why not someone copy the whole bitshares code and create "bitshares Compliant" . The "bitshare compliant" can sharedrop on a 1:1 basis the "BTS compliant token" to "BTS" to those who register and disclose their ID and do all KYC necessary and can prove ownership that they are the owners of the bts address they register within the new "bitshares compliant" network.

This way we will have BTS which operate as usual and  "bts compliant" that operate under full KYC and compliance.

BTS shareholder that chose to disclose their ID will benefit since they will receive free "bts compliant token". The market will then decide the price of each bts and "bts compliant". It is a win win for everyone.

Maybe I am talking nonsense just thinking out loud here..

@JonnyBitcoin I see... Thank you very much for that. I misunderstood.

General Discussion / usd margin call
« on: October 18, 2017, 03:07:32 pm »
When I got margin called in bitusd I paid 10% above feed. Why? I remember that we have adjusted the parameters in the past so margin calls are executed at 1% above feed price and I remember that this was a good decision since shorters created bitassets since the fee in margin call was only 1%.

When did we go back to the 10%? Can we go back to the 1% please?

General Discussion / Re: Why BitShares is being delisted from Bittrex?
« on: October 11, 2017, 11:21:34 am »
Still 150 mil BTS in bittrex..wtf... What are people waiting for? I am surprised that users don't experience problems withdrawing their bts last minute. Or do they experience withdrawal issues?
