How long is Open.Eos gateway not operating? What is the estimation of resuming operations? What is the issue here?

General Discussion / pornhub and bitassets
« on: April 17, 2018, 07:30:28 pm »
Today Verge announced that pornhub and brazzer will accept XVG as payment. There was a FOMO going around and apparently a lot of investors have been disappointed with the partnership and expected something bigger and today the market sold the news. Even if this is not a huge partnership as the market expected it opens a new door for crypto.

Can the bitshares foundation or someone else approach these companies and propose them to accept bitusd, biteur, bitcny? After all accepting a crypto that takes almost completely out the crypto volatility should be a first choice for them, right? And something like this can do but good for bitassets adoption. There are rumors that Litecoin approached them as well..

Thoughts?

@crypto4ever thank you for the explanation and the flashback.

I certainly didn't remember this discussion 2 years ago. Over the last years here I have said too many things and ideas and most of them were most definitely wrong.

Now. I still have no idea about SQP and shiny formulas..I never cared to go that deep and learn the exact process and that is my problem, I do not blame bitshares or anyone. If I still didn't support this community and bitshares I wouldn't still be here after all these years. But what I thought I knew is the following:

1) All bitassets in existence are backed by someone having shorting them into existence and are backed by bts collateral
2) If I press the force settle button, after exactly 24 hours my bitasset will be converted to bts at price feed.

I didn't know that liquidity mattered. I thought that whenever someone force settles the blockchain after 24h will go and margin call the shorters with the least collaterilized position in order to give me those bts at price feed as long as there are no other orders on the order book at price feed. Apparently that is not the case..

Well it has settled at almost 40 hours after I pressed the button and that same day there was also another bitEUR amount prior to mine that also settled after 24 hours and more. I think it is due to the low liquidity in bitEUR but definitely my order and the other guys order combined i don't think they are close to 5pc of the total supply. How many bitEUR are in existence currently since cryptofresh
is not working I don't know. In any case I don't feel comfortable sharing my personal trade in the forum with more details so I can not provide with more information. I am ok with my loss, I can live with it but the whole experience made me really nervous and I will think twice before I touch such illiquid market as the bitEUR and this is definitely a shame.. if that ever happens in bitusd or bitcny which are the most liquid bitassets that will be the end of BTS..

I think there are issues that you guys who are much smarter than me should receive think , re evaluate how the whole thing works and upgrade in order to keep our competitive advantage of dex.

I see now that the eur have been settled. However I was under the impression that this would settle exactly 24h after I press the button. This didn't happen and I think I understand the reasons more or less...

However, if I am a merchant that accepts biteur, want to settle and convert to euro the reasonable thing to do if there is no liquidity is to force settle and know exactly that after 24h I will convert my bts to euro without a loss..What happened in my case due to lack of liquidity is that my biteur settled when i was asleep and woke up this morning just to realize a loss of 6% because bts fall between the settlement time that i was sleeping and now.. This is a very serious issue I think that should be addressed. After I saw this I can not recommend to anyone to accept any bitassets as payment..

Anyway...apparently I am talking to my self and nobody seem to care..

any answer from anyone please? I am using the latest client wallet...

Anyone can think any reason why I don't see the respective bts in my wallet?

If this is a bug or a flow then it is a VERY SERIOUS one...

Peerplays / Re: Cannot Transfer PPY To OpenLedger Or Rudex
« on: January 28, 2018, 12:46:33 pm »
last week livecoin support advised that PPY blockchain has a problem...So far as far as I am concerned I have lost my PPY..
I can live with that since it has a free airdrop from bitshares but in any case it is a matter of principle and this made me lose all my confidence in the project..

General Discussion / biteur not settled yet. why?

Hi guys,

It's been more than 27 hours since I did a force settlement of some biteur and I don't see any bts in my wallet. Why?

As far as I know the biteur should have been settled and converted to bts at the price feed after 24 hours. Now I don't see either biteur either bts? At what price feed will these be settled and when?

Thanks

I have a bts- prefix name and transfered my PPY to livecoin and they never arrived there. Customer support advised that the transaction was not registered in SteemDB (no idea what that means). My question was on the below

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,25809.0.html

I just read this post so I guess I should create a new name without the bts - prefix. If that is the case then will my funds get refunded to my bts - mf-tzo account ever? It has been 6 days now and funds do not appear on my wallet neither on livecoin.

The transaction was https://peerplaysdb.com/block/6368539

Anyone??

Thank you very much!

Hello.
As you can see, this block has not yet been imported into SteemDB.

We can only credit a valid transaction that has received confirmation

On steemit no one answered. Does anyone around here can assist?

Thanks

Technical Support / PPY transfer support
« on: January 16, 2018, 01:29:38 pm »
I know that this is irrelevant here so I appologise in advance but if anyone can assist that would be great.

Last night I have claimed my PPY from BTS airdrop and transfered to livecoin. Funds never arrived there. I have opened a support ticket but no answer.

Has anyone experienced similar situation? Does PPY blockchain works? Anyone can assist?

Thanks

Regarding this proposal and how it goes, I would like to remind you all here some past threads from the seller of bitshares.com
You can see them here back in 2014

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,3819.msg58711.html#msg58711

4 BTC back then was $2500 and a couple of weeks  ago that 4BTC were worthing  $80,000. Back then the seller said that if someone would offer $100,000 he would take the offer. Obviously the $100,000 back then was by far exceeding his expectations for a domain name so I would assume that he would accept $30-$50k back then. Moreover most of the community members were just fine with .org back then and did not want to buy the .com

In addition in May 2016 (2 years later) the seller was saying that the domain will be soon sold. I guess it never did..

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,22662.msg294650.html#msg294650

Now again this topic is raised 2 years afterwards...So I see that every 2 years we are discussing this.

Anyway...My take on all this is that since as a community back then we did not care about .com (we could have bought is for $30k - $50k), we were happy about .org, we never created a similar worker proposal in 2016,  I am on the opinion that the offer from the worker proposal should not be more than $80,000 and the seller since he claimed was also a bitshares shareholder he should be more than happy with this offer.

This is only my opinion, obviously the beauty of bitshares system and voting will define the right course of action

General Discussion / bitshares dex vs. binance front page
« on: December 12, 2017, 09:56:40 pm »
I just wanted to point out that I absolutely love binance front page and I wish our DEX can have this..

All alts are listed vs. btc or eth or bnp or usdt in a clear form list and all show the equivalent in usd next which is absolutely amazing and also low, high 24h% change..I mean what better way is than this!! It is just amazing!!!

Can't we duplicate thisin our DEX the exact same way?? with the difference of course to show prices vs. bts, btc, bitusd,bitcny..

I found their front page so nice and useful that it is even better than coinmarketcap. The fact that they show btc and always the usd equivalent is so helpful!!
