Not sure how long they've had NuBits integrated (USD pegged asset built on Peercoin) but this is the first I've seen it.

I've been checking Shapeshift.io every few days since the developers notified the Bitshares community of the planned integration of BitAssets, specifically BitUSD and BitGold (https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=11290.msg150274#msg150274). 

Maybe a follow up from a dev that can assist in integration would help speed things along.

BitAssets were a sick brand to have got first and have a year to bootstrap ownership of. We'll probably have to change to BTSAssets and BTSGold if we want to be able to communicate our brand in a single word. Can't believe we lost that, it was killer.

Edit: The BitAsset graphics Cass has done just uses the 'b' this is good as it can stand for btsgold or bitgold & we can try work around becoming known by that logo vs. just a 'bit' or 'bts' in front of the gold.

They could just be referred to as Bitshares Assets.

This gives us Bitshares USD and Bitshares Gold, which shortened would be BTSUSD and BTSGold as Empirical suggested.  I actually think this is much clearer than using the Bit- prefix.  This convention can then be easily applied to future chains (think Bitshares Music).

Awesome!  This is great.  No need for a fixed window. 

Feel free to scrape, I'll put together a json API to make the data more accessible.

Interesting idea, an animation or slider would be a great way to visualize how the data changes over time.  An easier way might be to create line charts of each variance vs time and use the standard deviation to create confidence bands.

Once I've collected enough data, my plan is to generate these plots with the most recent 672 data points (one week's worth of data).  This will help to keep the probability functions relevant when evaluating the current market.

I setup a site to analyze the USD and BTC price pegs by comparing the asset feed, bid and ask prices to the market price of BTS on Coinmarketcap.  The price variance mean and standard deviation are calculated to produce Probability Density Curves.  Data is recorded every fifteen minutes.

This entire exercise is a learning experience and illustrates what happens when software developers try to manage things outside their areas of expertise. 

IMO anything left in the coffers should go 100% toward software development.  A web wallet and lightweight client would do mountains more good for the Bitshares network then a marketing campaign for a product that only a handful of people can even use.

...I've also started recording the variance between asks from the Bitshares asset market (BitBTC and BitUSD) and the market price (from Coinmarketcap).

The charts below show the 95% confidence interval (±2σ) and 99.6% (±3σ) confidence interval of ask price to market price using data from 12/5 to 12/15.

its the taks of the investor to pick a side ;)

Not only the investor, but also (and more importantly), the user.

One thing I've had trouble reconciling in regard to Bitshares and other decentralized tech is the lack of real Customer Support for the everyday user.  It might seem trivial but if you tell potential users that there is no single entity to call or email if they have issues; that's a major turn off. 

Customer support will need to be provided by the services utilizing Bitshares and until they are up and running (online wallet providers, gateways, etc.) I think it's very dangerous to market Bitshares to anyone with a limited understanding of decentralized tech.
