Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Status Update
« on: January 01, 2014, 05:12:48 pm »
We have a version of Keyhotee ready that will allow Founders to register their Public Key / ID, but my Windows team is taking the New Year off so we will have to wait until they compile a binary for everyone to use.   This will be a special addition that will not have the rest of the features of mail enabled/supported.

Taking the New Year off?!?   :o  So we can expect it sometime in 2015?  :P

General Discussion / Irreversible USD payments using Akimbo

Has anyone here used this?  It seems like it might be a safer alternative to Paypal for trades.

General Discussion / Re: Best system to run Keyhotee on?

I think the point danielauhlig is making is that if I don't check the forums for 6 months it's entirely possible that I could miss a launch announcement and end up having an investment in a DAC without being aware of it, and thus receive no benefit unless I somehow discovered it by chance or proactive searching.  I'm sure plenty of people will maintain lists of DACs that honor Protoshares, but I think it's a valid point that this issue doesn't seem to be handled internally, though I don't have a problem with it personally.

For determining who could broadcast a block, why not aggregate the transaction source addresses and hash that aggregation, then require that the broadcaster's public key hash be within n units of it in order to broadcast, where n is the number of coin days he is destroying, and the magnitude of the unit increases with time since last block?

BitShares PTS / Re: wallet balance = zero?

Coinplorer shows 0.9 PTS received to that address (https://coinplorer.com/PTS/Addresses/PkSx1BZbfDECc5qFgU5Ykht8EuxQZgLYK8).  Have you tried closing the Qt client and restarting it?  I've had it stop receiving new blocks without showing out of sync a number of times, and restarting it always works for me.

You can also open the debug window and look at the timestamp of the last received block to confirm if this is the issue.

General Discussion / Re: The Ideal Mining Pool
« on: December 25, 2013, 06:45:51 am »
Stan,

This thread seems to be poorly named.  You seem to be arguing that "The ideal mining pool" is a traditional centralized IPO.  IPOs are great for many businesses, and you could certainly argue that an IPO would have been more efficient for getting Invictus' DACs started than PTS, but what you're describing doesn't seem to have much to do with mining, and wouldn't be as inclusive and encouraging of third party DACs honoring the PTS social contract.

BitShares PTS / Re: Guide to claiming Protoshare investment in new DACs

Gigamike,

Yes, in this case the MMC2 wallet is the new DAC wallet, and these instructions will work for it as well as any other DACs that start without the auto import functionality and use basically the standard wallet system.

That's much better.  Hopefully anyone else creating Protoshare honoring DACs copies that functionality.

Thanks!

currencydebt,

Can you add this line to your protoshares.conf and restart?  If you don't have a protoshares.conf just create one with only that line.  It goes in the protoshares directory in your user directory on Windows, Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Protoshares...

Great, hopefully we don't still have major pools that aren't accepting transactions.

BitShares PTS / Guide to claiming Protoshare investment in new DACs
« on: December 24, 2013, 04:37:07 pm »
1.  Open your Protoshares wallet and open the debug window from the help menu.

2.  Switch from the information tab of the debug window to the console tab.

3.  Type:
     walletpassphrase YourPasswordHere 600

4. Type:
     dumpprivkey YourPTSAddress

5. Note the string of characters output after the last command.  This is your wallet key.  Guard it with your life.

6. Open the new DAC wallet and go to the console tab of the debug window as you did with the PTS wallet.

7. If your new DAC wallet is already locked, type:
     walletpassphrase YourPasswordHere 600

8. Copy your PTS wallet key from the PTS wallet window, and in the new DAC console, type:
     importprivkey YourPTSWalletKeyHere

9. Done.  If your new balance does not show up immediately, you can close and restart the new DAC wallet to rescan and find your balance.

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee ID authentication
« on: December 24, 2013, 03:59:01 pm »
Are you already using the SQRL (https://www.grc.com/sqrl/sqrl.htm) interface, and if not would it be possible to do so?  That should accelerate adoption since others are already pushing it, and from my very brief investigation it looks like it should be possible.
