I don't think fee adjustments need to be done according to an arbitrary schedule.  I think it should depend on price fluctuation, e.g. if BTS:USD changes by 10-15%.  Of course, ultimately such fee adjustments should be automated.  Speaking of which, here is some discussion on github:

https://github.com/bitshares/bsips/issues/48

... or combine both approaches, e.g. review every 2 weeks if the price moved by more than 10%

@Taconator do you plan to publish new reports? If yes, it would be nice to have a separate section for bitCNY and bitUSD trading fees.

Why didn't you use bitUSD as a base currency?

In general I support this proposal. However, I agree with abit that it probably create some friction and won't have a big impact. On the other hand, it could buy us time in hard times.

General Discussion / Re: Shares of Amazon at Bitshares. Smart Asset

Really cool idea. I have few comments, though

  • Get more feed providers
  • Why 5% force settlement offset?
  • The feed  was publish 11 hours ago, that's too little. Are you planning to publish real-time price or will it be delayed?

You are right, the collateral will decrease.

@abit thanks for BSIP link

It's happening again, this time to rit-capital-partners

The proposal says that total amount is $80,000 but later in the text it mentions that it's capped at $150,000.
Where are you going to find a content writer with extensive knowledge of BitShares? Are you relying on community?

@SweetPotato I sent you some BTS, never send/trade all your BTS ;)

@Gleepower I completely agree that it's unclear if the Tether did/didn't/can/cannot default as defined in this contract. I couldn't care less if I won or lost my bet worth 2 USD :)

What I care though is why I still see this contract in my account dashboard and what happens after it's expired. If nothing forces the creator of a prediction market to close it properly, I consider it a bug in architecture of BitShares.

That would be a good first step. We can automate that later.

Unfortunately Tether didn't default in 2017, what happens now with USDTETHERDEFAULT?

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: proposal to create bitXCD

Feed lifetime   525600 min(1 year) #to make a 'static' price

3.a if in future XCD relax peg to bitUSD, one choice for us is to create another smartcoin which peg to XCD but backed by BTS to replace bitXCD

If the peg changed in the future, wouldn't it be enough to start feeding new price? I understand that in such a case feed lifetime set to 1 year could be problematic. Could we change it to something more reasonable, e.g. 1 month?  I guess that this kind of stuff doesn't change overnight.
