I’m all ears to support an MPA or SmartCoin that doesn’t require an active witness for price feeds, just contact me, and I would be happy to talk about it.

I'm present on the BitShares Witness Telegram channel, as well as here and Steemit.

Howdy!

Check out my thread on https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,25083.msg311587.html#msg311587

I'm pushing for creation of BitETH and BitZEC as new smartcoins. I'd like them to be eventually adopted by "official" witnesses, but not sure of the mechanism for that. What are your thoughts?

Thanks. Regarding the "renaming" discussion - I'd seen some suggestion, I think on twitter, to rename "Bit-something" - can't remember the last part. It was pretty convincing. Any link available?

I have to be honest, I'm struggling to understand why anyone would want to create USD with negative interest if they barely want to create it with no interest. Where's the incentive?

Incentive for those who create USD would be ... the negative interest (your debt is decreasing with time). Not much of incentive to buy such asset though.

Oh ok right. So what is the incentive to hold USD - You basically want to create and dump it.

btsbots still works afaik. I think one of the biggest barriers to liquidity is the low supply of BitUSD and BitCNY meaning they often trades at a premium. We should think about creating a base supply  (a net long BTS position) of BitUSD and BitCNY with a worker proposal.
Bump BTS price then there will be adequate supply of bitCNY and bitUSD etc. This is how whales can contribute to the system. If using the reserve fund to create the supply, it will get margin called eventually no-doubt.

I agree. We can have LIQUIDITY with low BTS price, but not DEPTH. Whales need to hold a higher BTS price to support more SmartCoins, because so much collateral is needed (and a good thing until system is more mature).

I'm back on the case with StakeMachine. I'll let you know when I come up with a solution to your specific problem.

Excellent!

How did you set up your feeds for BitBTC? Curious as I am suggesting we create an official smartcoin for BitETH, etc...
It uses BitcoinAverage and falls back on the exchanges if that API is not available.

Thanks. is there a "code" for this that is public amongst witnesses you can share? I'd like to tweak it and put out a proposal. Are other witnesses using a similar strategy, or can they use their own?

This is interesting but I'm not really sure how it would help (besides increasing supply), unless the worker proposal also somehow ensured that these "base supplies" are part of a liquidity strategy, such as an automated "official" liquidity bot at 5% off market or something (so a big "low" buy support wall in a safe enough distance as to guarantee profit for the BTS ecosystem).

Why don't we just offer his more $$ then? Have him submit proposal for a rate that would bring him over immediately?

General Discussion / Re: more professional price feed?

What are the witnesses currently using/doing for their BitBTC price feed? I'd like to suggest they use that "Code" towards a feed for BitETH Smartcoin and other top alts.

Anyone know?

General Discussion / Latest Market Making / Liquidity Bots for BitShares
« on: October 17, 2017, 12:56:20 am »
What are the most popular bots for BitShares right now?

Anyone know what the most liquid market makers are using at the moment?

I have a feeling it is custom, as the popular bots (btsbots, stakemachine) are out of date, depreciated, etc.

Anyone heard differently?

Can someone advise how to petition the Bitshares Network to create Smartcoins for BitETH, BitZEC, and BitLTC OFFICIALLY? Would this be something that would require an approved proposal?

If so, is there anyone here who has done so before, and would know how to create such a submission (with my help)? Preferably someone with a lot of clout (votes)?

In that proposal - could you detail BitBTC as an example, and include the feeds the witnesses are using for that (is any of that information public - like which exchange(s) they are drawing from for the BitBTC price? Might be easy to simply apply those same feeds for these alts.

I believe this is the first crucial step in this mission of wider Alt/SmartCoin awareness.

(meanwhile - please add liquidity to BitBTC people. Issue some of your own!)

Hello!
Is anyone using this actively? If not, where is all the Dex volume these days coming from, besides BTSBOTS?

I would like to use StakeMachine, but it seems to be missing some basic functionality.

For example, say I am running BTS:BitUSD, and the bot runs out of BitUSD due to buying BTS, it does not wait to sell some back and continue firing BTS sell orders. Instead, it gives an error (about insufficient BitUSD balance) and shuts down.

Seems like a design oversight.

Has anyone fixed up or used this bot lately?

Or are people running other bots?

I'm wondering where all the new volume has come from last 6 months. Doubt it's from this bot.
