I have not made the time to produce any more tutorials. One idea I had was to put in a worker proposal to fund such a project so rather than me doing the odd video I could create a full series of videos.

@xeroc

I'm not sure that this is correct mate. I've just been reading the OBITS website and see this mention of share dropping, which to me sounds like the dividend payment I was talking about.

Maybe @ccedk can clarify this?

@MarketingMonk
Obits doesn't pay "dividends" .. instead, the profits are used to *buy-back* the obits asset on the free market.
Same kind of profit sharing, different implementation

OK thank you for the clarification. I appreciate you for that.

I am confused also.

I purchased OBITS because it was a cashflow asset.  On the 17th of January I received some OPENBTC which I assumed was the dividend for the moth. This is what was promised in the promotional material for OBITS.

Since then i have had no more of these payments.

Why is this?

Has OBITS changed from a cashflow asset to a capital gain asset?

BANX / Re: Welcome To The Banx Forum
« on: March 10, 2016, 09:42:17 pm »
What the are you doing man please explain or are you going to chras the banx shares I hat over 2400 banx shares the where around 6000 dollar
And now i get 26444 banx bts its now 164 dollar worth

You don't reply by e-mail you also never info us about what you are doing and i dont receive no dividend anymore?????

My understanding is that when Banx was moved to BitShares all Banx were multiplied by 10.
So for example, my 600 Banx became 6,000 Banx on BitShares.
So that is part 1.

Part 2 is that as soon as Banx moved to BitShares they were openly tradable on the BitShares exchange or on OpenLedger.
Because many people decided to sell their Banx it has caused the price to drop sharply.
That is why the price of Banx is now much lower.

Thanks for the clarification fellas.

If a bitUSD always equals 1 USD, what happens when the purchasing power of the 1 USD declines?

What if inflation stays around 2% per year?
What happens if the USD experiences hyperinflation?

Don't dollar pegged assets like bitUSD automatically inherit these problems?

I'd support that

Thank you all for the praise and the feedback.

Since I've put out these first few videos, to my surprise, I've had numerous proposals from people who want me to create these videos for them.

I'm not sure what to do yet because I didn't really have an agenda when I started creating them :)

Yes I say zero point four cents which is $0.00.4 but obviously I don't add the second decimal place.

Delulo,
You read my mind mate. I intend to create a follow on from this that explains the collateral ratio.

I thought I would put this in the same video when I do a tutorial on the open ledger interface where you set the amount of collateral you want to assign.

This video above gives the foundational knowledge and then the new video I'm talking about which increase the accuracy.

I'm just always weary of trying to include too much in each video :)

Ccedk,
Wow thank you very much for that. That was a surprise.

What's equally brilliant is you have given me guidance on what other videos to create.

I managed to move my funds over from BitShares 1 to open ledger so I can make that video for sure.

Now I have confidence that these videos will be used I will create a better structure so people can start at the very beginning "how do I setup my open ledger account?" And then "how do I buy some BitShares?" And then gradually increase to more and more advanced topics.

I do enjoy making these videos too so thank you for your support :)

Here's my latest contribution to the community based on the frustrations and confusion I've been reading in the forums.

I'm learning as I teach which is why I'm calling this open source training.

Where can we put these for new users to easily discover them?
If no one has any good ideas then I'll just set up a new website to host them on.

I've sent Max Wright a message via the Success Council Facebook page to ask if he would be willing to distribute these on the BitSharesTV YouTube channel so there's a central resource for learning about BitShares.

For those who have never seen BitShares TV it's here:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChtICzF0ZEhhgoMA8YWhULw/videos

Max hasn't updated it in months and now BitShares 2.0 is live a lot of it is out of date and needs removing else it will give people the wrong information.
