General Discussion / Many "Create Proposal"

Hello,

So I checked my Activity tracks, and I can see many Create Proposal... I'm sure I'm not the only one since they are coming from OpenLedger accounts such as: openledger-safety, openledger-settings, openledger-delegate, openledger-security and openledger.com-account... Probably fake accounts?

The proposals are something I've never really understood in BitShares... What are they? Why are they targeting my account? They say "Update account data for", so what is there to upgrade?

I haven't been active in the past 6 months, so I'm wondering if I missed something important or if this is just another obscure scam (like the shitcoins everybody was getting at some point...)

Any information would be appreciated.

General Discussion / When to expect the bitUSD revival?

Hello,

So... bitUSD/BTS is nearly 20% over feed price because nobody is willing to trade. At first, that was OK, waiting patiently for it to fall to a reasonable price to buy BTS or BTC again, but now I'm starting to realize that I'm probably screwed with bitUSD, for which I might not be able to get out without loosing quite a %...
I read everywhere that bitUSD needs to be revived and wait for the margin trading to open again. So I have the following questions:

-How/when will bitUSD be revived? What does it take? Just the trust of people who lost a lot because of the GS?
-If we are below the GS price, will it be revived only when the price goes back up above that same GS price or can the new GS price be lowered?
-Will it be revived only when the margin trading opens up again? What are the conditions for that?
-Will I get back my worth of bitUSD only when the price will go back above GS price? Am I understanding this right? Because if so and the price keeps falling, bitUSD holders are screwed, no?
-Also, what does it mean when a bitasset stops being pegged?

Technical Support / Market Fees not updating in RC1?

Hello,

I'm using the Bitshares UI version 181121-rc1 and I'm wondering why the market fees are not updating as I type in values when placing an order.
For instance, selling BTS in the BTS/BitUSD market should have 0.1% market fee, but it remains 0.



Can anyone let me know if the Market fee is taken even though not displayed?

Also, please fix this typo in the "Deposit USD" button:

Why did I have to search for this? Why isn't it here on the forum?

There is an emergency release to fix a stuck chain.
All nodes must upgrade.

Technical Support / New RC1 - Market Depth Chart is gone?

Hello,

Why is the Market Depth chart gone from the right bottom panel? Is the only way to see it in the Personalize -> Chart Options -> Type -> Market Depth? Well, that is quite far... I like the two being visible at all times.

Because I only show 3-4 stared markets in the right panel, then I have this huge unused blank space where the Graph used to be. Now its empty and I'm missing it...

Let me know if I'm missing something.

How would you remove a witness from the testnet? I don't see any commands in the CLI to cancel, remove, or update a witness in order to cancel it.

Stupid question here... Why are there some buckets with yellow borders in the BitShares Exchange graph? At first, I thought it was because that bucket contained some Margin Call sales, but it doesn't look like it...

Anyone wishes to share why the yellow borders?

Technical Support / Help, cannot cancel order

Hello,

I made an order yesterday and now I want to cancel it. Usually, it works great, but now, I get:
Failed to broadcast the transaction:
Assert Exception: core_fee_paid <= fee_asset_dyn_data->fee_pool: Fee pool balance of '0.00009 BTS' is less than the 0.00010 BTS required to convert 0.0001 ZALUPA

Why is that? is it a rounding error that will resove itself soon or is it because I have no more funds in the account beside the funds in the transaction?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I have a BitShares Lifetime Membership, I'm trying to get votes for my new Witness Node in Canada wss://relinked.com/ws and as I read the documentation, it showcases how you can vote for your own witness. Problem is, voting is locked for my account... When using BitShares-light, I go in the Votes section and all the places where there should be a vote icon, I see a locked icon.

Can anyone help me out and tell me why that is?

Nous avons commencé à miner des Protoshares en 2013. Depuis ce temps, nous avons activement fait la promotions de plusieurs cryptos. En 2017, nous avons adopté les BitShares et nous sommes devenu des Membres à Vie afin de pouvoir promouvoir encore plus cette incroyable cryptomonnaie, outils et marché.

À partir de 2018, nous allons mettre en place des workers BitShares dans la région de Montréal, Québec, Canada, en espérant avoir un uptime de plus de 95%. Ceci est crutial pour nous car il semble que les canadiens peuvent faire l'expérience de beaucoup de latence. Le nouveau worker canadien proposé aidera à renforcer le réseau BitShares au nord des États-Unis.
Nous voulons aussi mettre en place la documentation BitShares en français pour les nord américains et les euroopéens qui voudrait être en mesure de comprendre plus facilement comment le réseau BitShares fonctionne.

Travaillons ensemble pour que le réseau BitShares remplace celui du Bitcoin!

BitShares community members,
I would like to thank you all for this great community! I'm a long time lurker who now wants to get involved.
This is our Witness Proposal.

A little story about us:
We've been running an animation studio in Montreal, Quebec, Canada since 2001. Through the years, we have developed several tools and projects revolving around the web and entertainment industry, notably the gaming and film industry (clients like Autodesk, Netflix, Lionsgate, etc).
Back in 2013, our computers were ideal for mining, so we started mining Protoshares! That was fun! Glad we could help out in the early days of BitShares.  :) We have been pushing for many cryptos ever since. In 2017, we embraced BitShares and became Lifetime Members so we could further boost this awesome cryptocurrency, tool and exchange.

How we want to improve the BitShares network:
In 2018, we want to run a steady BitShares Witness setup in the Montreal area, Quebec, Canada. This is crutial to us because we've noticed that Canadians can experience medium to high latency. The proposed new Canadian worker will help strengthen the BitShares network north of the USA.
