It looks really cool. Is there a pool or an exchange for it anywhere? or does anyone want to give me some coins so I can try it? HJHto8TujpjZLSmMuCmJQAFovhxNDcR6ui

BitShares AGS / Re: AGS Donation efficiency

If my address shows up in this list http://www1.agsexplorer.com/# does it mean it is received? That only took 2 minutes!

Yup, your donation is now irreversibly set in the blockchain. Sometimes it'll take longer, but it just depends on how long it takes for the network to find a block.

or find a way to implement an aspect of POW that only a human can do.  Would that be possible though? Sounds Treky :-X

Hand-mined altcoins? I don't think people would put that much effort into it

Great to see you will honour PTS. Watching closely.

Regarding honouring AGS, I guess it depends whether you get some direct help from I3.

Where did you see that they're honoring PTS?

You could try reading the first post first :)
we have considered to maybe honor PTS.

The way that sumantso worded it, I thought that it was definite, not just something they were considering

BitShares AGS / Re: AGS Donation efficiency
« on: January 20, 2014, 10:48:59 pm »
I think it's definitely more efficient, because not only are you getting more than 1 AGS per PTS, there will likely be more Bitshares X shares per AGS than per PTS. This is because half of them will be given to PTS holders, and the other half will be given to AGS holders, and there will probably be more PTS than AGS by the time Bitshares X is released. If the release is late though, then there may be more AGS than PTS, resulting in PTS having the better ratio. It all comes down to when Bitshares X is released

fun part

This looks good to me. The division of work between me and AJ_ was 50-50, so we should each get 25% of the bounty.

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Angel Shares & BitShares Allocation

Question about Angel Shares.

I've read some of this thread, but it's getting pretty long... I apologize if this has been asked already.

With this whole donate-to-recieve Angel Shares thing, if there are only 5000 AGS for PTS per day, that means that it's a crap-shoot how many AGS I'll get for a given PTS donation? Why don't I just donate .0001 PTS per day?

Also, is there any advantage to holding AGS vs. PTS? I mean, I can at least trade PTS on an exchange.

Yes, some days have better deals for AGS than other days, but so far every day has had a ratio of greater than one AGS per PTS. Because of this, you can increase your investment in the world of DACs by investing in AGS, since DACs will likely split their initial funds equally between AGS and PTS. As you pointed out though, this comes at the cost of liquidity. There is a service that offers tradeable AGS, but you have to trust the individual running it to actually deliver your future DAC-shares: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2275.0

Interesting idea, but I don't like that the bitcoin part is very centralized. Still, if you honor PTS and/or AngelShares, then you'll get a very active community right from the start.
