This could be really neat. I rather wish you'd focus energy on fewer ventures and really follow them through, but the blockchain offers great potential for land titles. Come on now, one bottle of wine got you this Forbes guy? If you need to send him a case, I'll chip in.

Hey all, just came across this thread here.   :D

I was asked by the team to provide a little info about myself in order to be voted a witness.
As many have, I joined the crypto world after the sudden increase in price and publicity a few years back now.  The latest project I've worked on in the crypto space is Synergy Cloud, a web based trading bot (similar to other basic bots out there) that allows users to trade across a few exchanges in reward for burning Synergy Coin.  I'm also very involved in the Coinbar project and spend a lot of time looking for new cryptos to get involved in and doing some trading here and there.   ;D  Professionally, I'm a project manager working for a large e-commerce company mainly focusing on machine learning.  I've got a good amount of hardware at my disposal and will continue to support the STEEM project.

I look forward to getting to know some of you guys and moving forward with STEEM!

Welcome. I haven't understood a thing about this project yet (except that maybe STEEM won't get dumped as much as BitShares does), but it's good to see some innovation and more good people getting involved.

Yunbi is an exchange. This is unethical and backhanded. If someone has a dissenting view, then they should fork it.

This is a big idea that involves a lot of different pieces and makes some major assumptions. It's not a fit for me as far as investing, but I'll be rooting for you to succeed.

General Discussion / Re: Against Crowdsales.Do not crowdsale !!!
« on: March 25, 2016, 04:25:00 pm »

The answer to your question lies in your own response. We should not be afraid to openly challenge & do due diligence on investments that we are unsure about. In the case of BTS, brand value by association can be very positive as we saw with Microsoft Azure, however there is a huge reputation risk to being associated with bad partnerships as we saw with Summer Announcements. (Also with projects like Banx many felt they were mislead about what they were investing in.

This is exactly right. Crowdsales are an important tool for jump-starting new ventures. But there have been a number of crowdsales on here that I have not really understood well. I am usually one of the ones asking questions in these threads. Sometimes, the promoters provide answers that satisfy me and other times they still do not do an adequate job explaining how they are going to use the money or create actual value. I lived through the 1990s in Silicon Valley, so I saw my share of websites that were peddling bullshit with pure marketing speak and by the end of reading it or even having a beer with the lead person, you still had no idea what their technology or idea was, yet people were still throwing money at them. Not me. Now, we have people creating slick videos to try to explain their plans, but having sorted through my share of garbage, I get pretty impatient when the substance is buried or absent. Give it to me straight up or it belongs with the snake oil.

This looks promising, but I'd like to have more understanding on what the future projects will involve. It looks like this token is a springboard to a Kickstarter fundraiser, which is a springboard to videos, which accomplish what? What is anyone being promised here other than tokens that will be supported by videos? Your videos so far are great; I'm really impressed, and I mean that. But I just don't see the value of donating to acquire tokens in...what? Will there eventually be a product or service involved that carries some independent value? Or is this essentially a PR campaign for BitShares or for SOLCERT?

Good buying opportunity if you believe it has a future.

I would like to see it also, but perhaps not paired with BTS. It would be nice to have it trade against fiat.

*shameless plugging in*

We made gamebet.gg for 1/100th of what you raised.
I look forward to competing with whatever you come out with.

Regards

X, not only have you spent a fraction of (this kind of) money; you also are creating a product at least 100x more quickly. Very impressed with you gamebet guys. (And very glad that, though I contributed a lot for AGS and Music fundraisers, I never spent a dime on Play. Sorry to anyone who did. It was, shall we say, a bit of a gamble.)

It's with a great sigh of relief that what Cob has shown us appears to be a tool that has great potential, but belief in the objective and belief in the team attempting to deliver are two very different things. It is a direct result of TravelsAsia's persistent attempts to engage with the development team that have prompted this latest indicator of progress and has enabled you to comment.

Really? Why do I seem to remember Cob telling us that a video or two would be ready in March? They came right on schedule and I'm not going to credit any forum posters for that. Sigh of relief? Sorry, I'm laughing too hard; didn't you expect something awesome? I sure did. Look, this project is either going to succeed or it isn't. If someone is posting comments on one day that he's almost willing to take a hit on his investment, and then the next day he's all stoked cause he saw some video, then that's fine; it's just a different investing mindset than I have. I waited almost two years for a decent BitShares product and there were plenty of times when people were getting anxious here on the forums. For months and months and months, I was the asshole responding to many of those postings with the same stuff I'm writing now: A good product takes time. If you want it to succeed, give the developers enough space to do their thing and get it done. If you want a good short term investment, this ain't it. If you aren't willing to lose 100% of your investment, then crypto ain't the right space. If you're willing to be patient, then great things are possible.

The project is looking great! With some more communication and transparency, you could really mobilize the investors.

Not worried about this. While I understand your sentiments, most people have been holding because they believe there is real potential here. I'd rather Cob and Eddie work on getting the technology and partnerships done rather than spending their time with squeaky wheel investors. You either believe in it or you don't.
