Great news, thanks!

Now can we get Steve Ballmer to do tricks like slam dunk a basketball off a trampoline while a kooky bird mascot flies overhead?

Please spend he whole hangout discussing  Sidechains.

-  Different ways they could be implemented
-  Ball park figures on how much each implementation would cost
-  How long to implement?
-  Could they be suitable to be funded as a fee backed asset
-  What are the risks of multi sig colluders?
-  Does Bytemaster think this should be at the top of  our to do list?
-  Would BTC sidechain eliminate the need for most UIABTC and even BITBTC?
-  Would this increase liquidity dramatically by having a unified BTC asset?
- What about Ethereum or other coins being implemented in a similar fashion?

Yes, this deserves a thorough discussion.

General Discussion / Re: Trustless, Decentralized Bond Market Draft

Honestly, I think this is like Stealth. It will be nice to have, but I wouldn't choose to grant it a high priority. Why? Because we should focus on projects that improve this ecosystem by bringing in more liquidity and market cap. We need to take some bigger steps, bigger risks, make a bigger splash. How many people will actually use these bonds who aren't already long term investors?

Sidechaining first
Bond Market second

Sounds good to me.

The technical details are beyond my level of understanding, but in terms of the concept, I'm interested. If being a sidechain improves our liquidity and market cap with few negative consequences, then I say 'go for it.' At this point, we should be bold.

Nobody quite understands what it is they do, but whatever it is they do, they are moving it to BitShares. Officially, welcome aboard and best of success!

I'd like to know what the advertising plans are. While I trust CCEDK, there are a number of different projects afoot and I will only invest if I am confident that this advertising business is going to be fully developed (as opposed to people splitting time with so many other things to do). What kind of assurance do we have about this ad business? Without giving away inside info, what kinds of partners or clients will it target?

i THINK even if the plan fails still on the rebuy they will buy it for profit for you. So if you buy now and slel a bit hiogher on buyout date [may 2nd?] you will take profit either way.

At least with Obits that worked.

Well, if your first instinct is to say "...even if the plan fails," then I don't see you having any faith in this product yet either. You're being short term speculative. Sure, I could play that game, too. But if I buy in for more than chump change, then I'd like to know if this is a good long term investment or not. I have not seen any explanation of what this advertising business will be and how much time and effort they will devote to building it. If it's just a token with some undefined future project attached that's way down on CCEDK's 'nice to have, but not essential' priority list, then I'm not interested in participating. If it's going to be a bona fide business with staff and website partnerships and so forth, then that gets more interesting.

One of my largest peeves on this forum has been people taking the statements of a single person and extrapolating it to the whole community.  Repeatedly.  Some manage to take this even further ...

Yes, truly. Grow some thicker skin, people. It will serve you well. There are many, many people using BitShares, more every day. One dumb comment doesn't mean a damn thing.

Very cool. Welcome aboard!

I really like this idea. BTS is such a tangled knot at this point that I wouldn't mind starting with something simpler, continuing to believe in and work on both, and see which one is the better experiment.

One thing to consider: With dShares, screw the exchanges, but what becomes even more important here are the gateways and ramps. It does not seem to me like anyone in the BTS community has an automatic tribal opposition to this new fork idea, but hypotethically speaking, if some in the BTS community decide they won't touch the dShares fork, then there could be a problem getting gateways on board. Again, I doubt this will be an issue, but it might be best to check with the present gateways/ramps and make sure that they would be open to working with this platform as well. It certainly could be worth their while financially.
