BitAssets should be created by vote and every holder of Genesis will be deducted with the needed GNS for creating a new bitAsset. Everyone has to pay, because it benefits the whole community.

If someone is willing to pay the fees, he can also create a bitAsset

I like the GNS idea (although I don't really see why BTSX should receive 20%). GNS would preserve liquidity of PTS for 3rd party DACs (the PTS blockchain will die because with the drop in value after nov-5 mining PTS is no longer economically viable).
I don't grasp the part about asset creation, though. For BitAssets it doesn't make any sense at all, IMO.

« on: October 23, 2014, 04:54:20 pm »Hast du nicht immer noch die Möglichkeit PTS zu verkaufen bevor sie weniger liquid werden. "liquid" ist auch sehr relativ. Wenn jemand (nicht ich) extrem viele pts hat sind sie heute auch nur zu einem sehr geringen teil liquid.
Ja, mit 40% Abschlag gegenüber vor 4 Tagen. Das ist die Bewertung des Marktes für den Entzug der Liquidität. Danke, BM.

Niemand hat AGS gekauft (oh entschuldige - "gespendet") um bm bei seinem Hobby zu unterstützen. Es wurden Versprechungen gemacht, an die man sich jetzt nicht mehr halten will. Social consensus hat's nie gegeben. Alles nur freiwillig. Ätschbätsch.Mein Problem ist aber immer noch die Art und Weise wie bm kommuniziert. Er entwickelt das Toolkit .. fertig aus .. er hat NICHTS mit BitSharesX zu tun .. das ist DAC Sun Limited ..
Ich kann Dan's Argument da voll verstehen. Er will das beste bauen, das sich die Community denken kann. Er will aber auch dafür sorgen das Investoren etwas davon haben.

Ja, die Ausführung hatte was von Elefant im Porzellanladen. In Punkto Vertrauen hat wohl selten jemand so schnell so viel kaputtgemacht wie BM in diesen 3 Tagen. Und das ist genau das Problem: meine PTS werden eingefroren und ich soll darauf vertrauen, dass dieser Elefant in den nächsten zwei Jahren nicht noch das restliche Porzellan zerbröselt. Toll.
Das Schweigegeld - so ich es denn bekomme - werde ich nehmen. Als Entschädigung. Und ich drück Dir die Daumen dass Du Deins auch bekommst.

I will be releasing v0.0.5 soon.
The network will stop at the last block of November 5th by UTC. I've asked BTER and BTC38 to prepare a snapshot at that time as well.
I will also create a snapshot for the moved stake from before BM's announcement for the "special make DNS holders whole" sharedrop. I'll also make a snapshot of the entire stake at that time in case we ever re-start the effort and need a "DNS believers" snapshot.

Das muss wohl jeder für sich entscheiden. Ich jedenfalls fühle mich mächtig verarscht von bm und seinen Versprechungen (von denen er jetzt offenbar nichts mehr wissen will).
Sein DNS-"fix" ist i. W. Schweigegeld für diejenigen, die sich am lautesten beschwert haben. Scheint ja auch in diesem Sinne zu funktionieren.

Also should I just sell my DNS on BTER since it is worthless?
In my understanding, you'll receive BTS for the DNS that's in your wallet on nov-5. IOW: you should withdraw your DNS from the exchanges (or sell them) before nov-5. It may be the case that bter honours that final snapshot and distributes BTS for the DNS in your account, but I haven't seen an official statement confirming this.
What you have already missed is the "fix" offered by bm/i3. All you can hope is that bter honours that fix a posteriori.

Fact is that most of PTS's value post nov-5 will be moved into BTS by bm's proposal. That part of PTS's value is made illiquid.
The fact that PTS as a coin remains untouched is irrelevant. Furthermore, it is questionable if PTS will actually remain liquid, because with the severe drop in value PTS mining will no longer be economically viable.

I suppose (!) that if you only imported the keys into your wallet this will not have been noticed by the blockchain, IOW the genesis transactions are still sitting in the genesis blocks. If, however, you "moved them around" by voting or otherwise sending them to a different address they will definitely have been moved from the genesis block. Lucky me. Hopefully.
I must say, this is indeed a *very* clever move by bm. The people who are most loudly complaining about his proposal are also the most likely to have touched their genesis stake. So this proposed "fix" is very well targeted.
