Haha! i like them. The only problem is that Yunbi displays the data in the pop-ups in a horrible format. They should cut the "Open""Close""High""Low""Volume" (and the random MACD/HIST garbage below completely) and just replace with "O, C, H, L, V" and display the list vertically. This way the pop-up should be small enough to fit right above or below the candle you are hovering on.

For example:

From this:     To this:

It is now less intrusive as it does not cover entire candles and it doesn't force you to look on the left. But anyways, i can get your point :)

Make the popups transparent.

Or you can do it like this :) (Adapted the CEX.io "Instant Buy" for Graphene.)

I hope we can consider doing this for the average joe who is not a trader and those who have no interest in trading, just converting fiat in to BTS or Gold, CNY etc.

Yep. This could be the landing page and we would have other tab for trading with more tools for the day trader.

Transfer does not need it 's own tab. It should just be on the dashboard page.

+5% +5% +5% Valentin's trading page layout looks excellent to me overall- attractive, clean, and laid out well. If the order book is at least 25 orders deep and has depth shading for a quick gauge in one glance, I think it could be better even than most vertical ones and visually appealing with Valentin's color scheme, though I also think it would be great to offer 2 or 3 different overall 'skins' as fav mentioned- Night, Grey(Valentin's) and Day maybe.  Bitfinex has this order book shading feature in white: https://www.bitfinex.com/trading

For the trading chart, maybe there could be a tiny tool icon with drop down menu of indicators/tools at the top right of the chart like tradeblock has(but without having to expand the chart) https://tradeblock.com/markets/bfnx/xbt-usd/2h/

Also, while margin trading, something I prefer to keep an eye on is my account/margin trade balances, etc. I don’t personally prefer Bitfinex’s overall layout actually, but at least the important information is mostly all there, minus a good chart, so it's not necessary to click through to any other tabs while trying to assess one's overall trading activity. This could be another reason why they have the most volume in the US now for bitcoin/some alts at least, besides the main reason being that it’s reliable for margin trading specifically. Some people here have mentioned slight lags for margin trading at Poloniex, but I’ve found Bitfinex to be reliable, simple, fast, and seamless for both spot and margin trading.

Overall, Okcoin seems to offer in a pretty nice package(kind of Coinbase-like) most of the features that Bitshares does or could offer, like futures, P2P lending, and Algo support for liquidity but not Bitassets/UIA's(which is key since Bitcoin goes down when USD goes up, as they are correlated) and, of course, it isn't decentralized. It may be why they have the most trading volume in China and even if some volume isn't accurate or seems inflated, I think even if it's a 'fake it till you make it' situation, the perception that there is liquidity there(so they can enter/exit markets quickly) has even US crypto twitter traders increasingly participating in their exchange as well. Their website/exchange is well worth looking at: https://www.okcoin.com

I definitely agree with Mike623317 that maybe even right on the landing page/Dashboard like Valentin and Clayop linked to for Buy/Sell/Transfer would be good for people who don’t Buy/Trade anything but fiat to crypto of their choice(yet, if ever?). And maybe the header can include Affiliates for Developers & Merchants like shown in Coinbase(in 'Products’ dropdown menu, though) https://www.coinbase.com/signin and Okcoin: https://www.okcoin.com For example:

Dashboard   Exchange   Explore   Affiliates

And a small bell icon for general exchange notifications with a hover/show feature and question mark “?" icon for help/tours/tips, etc along with a sign in/account dropdown like Polo, and Finex do in the top right corner on their trading pages could be helpful.

Especially, API & Algo support at least for ctrader, Metatrader4, Protrader for pro-traders that liondani, lil_jay890 and others on other threads like svk have mentioned and for other exchanges like Coinigy, etc is really ideal for even wider adoption along with the current crypto user base as well.

Investing/Trading is people expressing/voting with their money for what they believe is currently of more value to them, and as well.attenuated and liondani highlighted earlier, it could be reflected in some part by the crypto trading volume. It is the barter system- so, it's voluntary and fair, which is what bitshares is all about, as I see it. Here are some notes of what seem to me to be Bitshares current strengths below:

Bitshares Current Strengths

Innovative & Diverse Decentralized Markets, Exchange, Blockchain & Platform
 - BitAssets/UIAs and alts, *Prediction markets, *Derivatives, Affiliates program (Developers/Merchants/Entrepeneurs)

*Excellent High Speed(Margin, Futures) Trading with *API/Algo support for protrader tools/bots, etc & *P2P Lending
- to become one of the fairest(most stable), most inclusive, and intelligent decentralized currency/asset/economic system, which is incentive to encourage investment/participation(liquidity) for Bitshares' Diverse markets/innovative features to shine, just like we need participation for the bitshares voting system to work optimally

First Decentralized Autonomous Company or DAC & DAC Platform
- Shares/dividends of Bitshares or any DAC built on top of Bitshares
- Powerful Smart contracts

Privacy
- *Easy Seamless Stealth transfers combined with the name/account system

Support
Supporters/Collaborators willing to participate/invest with their attention in many different ways - time, money, talents, business etc
- App for mobile and other devices or mobile version of some kind for truly expansive reach
- *Demo/intro video embedded in landing page that can be linked/available to share on social media/etc
- *Free beta invites to bitcoin/crypto traders & market makers like Gemini exchange did or Coinigy(see their twitter header) is doing as incentive to share info/videos, etc & spread the word

a * means that it’s in progress at the moment or could be..

Well, I didn’t expect to write this much but lol at myself for getting a little obsessed.. thanks if you read this  :o

Of course, you can play with the design in endless ways. My point is that you have to make a separate page for "Instant Buy". Personally, i would put it on the "Landing" page and throw in there some vital statistics too. Top 10 coins by volume and other details. Something similar to Bittrex, but simplified. Or just general info about the exchange.

If there is a simple version , I don't think it should be anything with charts / orders books /  markets etc.  I think plain and simple, this -> that, enter how much you want and it returns a price and total cost  and you press go.  Thats it.  Shapeshift would be a good example.

I dont disagree with that. Perhaps that could be under an extra heading.
I wish shapeshift would bring BTS and BitUSD back online  :o

Is there any merit to having an option for non-trading users? For example, a basic option and an expert option where you can set price and a order expiry.

As a non-trader, i just want to buy x-amount at the spot price and not worry that i am have misunderstood one of the more technical settings?

I took this from metaexchange.info.

One question. BTC-E being one of the first exchanges, doesn't seem to implement new features (that I'm aware of) and still has that simple design, yet it has great volumes. Do you think that's because they're the only ones using MT4 or simply because of Litecoin and/or the community they built around the mythical trollbox?
