sounds great  +5%

now i as a idiot user, can start my own node in 15 minutes? does i understand it correct? how is the pricing from Azure to services like AWS?
Yes, 15 minutes if you select to install from the PPA (longer if you build from source of course). The only requirement is an Azure subscription. Pricing varies by the region you choose to deploy the template to.

So dumb question... What advantages does Azure give to bitshares other than being associated with the Microsoft name?  Is Azure BaaS a market place?  Can people develop for BTS through Azure?

You have my vote forever Fox.

It was going to take some pretty mainstream media conglomerate to vouch for the validity of DPOS/pegged assets, both concepts which still seemed like witchcraft until someone "trustworthy" as Bill Gates signs off on the math.

Bravo my friend.
You own the network, but who pays for development?

I'm confused ...

so does this mean that Preston was wrong ?

Or does this mean that Microsoft doesn't understand math?

Can we stop linking that crap?  We only help the jerk face get more views when we link to it.

The more backlinks, the more search engines will elevate preston's article in search results. Best to avoid posting a working link....

sorry for derailing, but changing to hxxp will work to prevent it from linking right?

Well done, Fox!

Is this the same as consensys , factom , emercoin on Azure ?

because I typed consensys , factom ,ethereum , emercoin on the seach box , and I could not find any , but these were the projects that has announced partership with microsoft  . Is their thing a different thing ?

Thanks .

still no factom

Go to https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/templates/

Type "bloc" and click search.

You find them there.

Because Factom is probably not really in yet.

See https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-baas-update-2

" The following are in the pipeline:

Deploy a factomd service exposing the Factom APIs - Q1 2016
Bitcoin data service of prices from different exchanges recorded on Factom's Blockchain - Q1 2016"

Keywords are "pipeline" and "Q1 2016".  Q1 is not over yet.

Great news, thanks!

Now can we get Steve Ballmer to do tricks like slam dunk a basketball off a trampoline while a kooky bird mascot flies overhead?

Yes, this is the same platform as those mentioned above.  I am not sure why the search would not return the proper results.  I've tried "Eth" or "Bit" to return many Etherum releases and both BitShares and BitCore at this URL:

I'd expect to see another update regarding BitShares from Marley Gray here:
