PS, it is not for me.  I am writing a how to for someone, and i cant recall how I did.

Open up the client. Click on "My Accounts" on the left.

Click the blue tab on the upper right "Create New Account".

Fill in an "Account Name" and then click the button "Create New Account".

When the new account screen comes up click "Keys" and the BTS string will be in the first line:     Account Key: .......................

I bet in these hundred pages, it is said somewhere, but where do I find the bts string I need to send you?

PS, it is not for me.  I am writing a how to for someone, and i cant recall how I did.

Why does it not seem to work to import my PTS key in order to get BTS?

Try using "wallet_check_sharedrop" in the GUI console. The balances are vesting over 2 years, so you will only have some % of your total available to claim before that 2 years is up.

I don't think the API has a function to retrieve the sharedropped balance just yet.
