I was able to import my PTS wallet but all of my registration transactions keep getting stuck as pending. Anybody else having that problem?

Maybe time should be involved. Kind of like in Reddit's up voting/down voting algorithm. I believe it works something like this: if a post starts to get many up votes within a few seconds or minutes it becomes weighted and starts rising to the front faster. So a post that gets 100 up votes in 2 minutes will be rising faster and surpass a post that has had 2000 up votes over the last 10 hours.

You just do this in reverse. That way if a delegate is truly a good delegate but gets down votes overtime just because someone wants their position, it doesn't boot them out. Only the truly bad delegates will get booted when something goes wrong and there is an influx of some amount of down votes really close in succession.

+1 +1 +1

This is the best idea I've heard yet.

Is there any hope of us english speakers being able to get in on the mix?  Some of us had hopes of being delegates on the live network.  If we get too late of a start thats not going to happen with out massive reserves.  I don't care if the gui is in chinese,(could always just swap out the htdocs)  but will the command line commands still work?  Is there anyone that could give us english updates on where the official source code can be procured, and what the launch schedule is?

No worries.  The person doing the BTSX clone from our XT prototype (which is already in English) has assured me that he intends to release English and Chinese versions concurrently.  They would be crazy to do otherwise.  The English command lines will also remain available.   :)

Actually I feel like this doesn't answer the question. If I can't read Chinese, how am I supposed to know when the release happens? I understand there will be an English version of the platform launched but I was hoping to be a delegate and at the moment the way the registration fees exponentially increase I have a matter of hours to get in on the delegate party. Having to keep track of a Chinese website is going to severely limit that possibility. Plus this still doesn't tell us anything about dacsunlimitted. Who are they? How can we trust them? Even when I google translate the website there seemingly is almost no meaningful information.

Isn't there anyone else nervous about this?

Several well-known members of our community wanted to hitch their careers to the BitShares X freight train and work on the operational side of BTSX and other DACs.  So they have gone off to form their own DAC company in a jurisdiction where there is more freedom to do so.  They have also recruited some great new talent.  They are currently working toward a dual Chinese/English launch that is fair to both hemispheres and involves multiple exchanges.

Meanwhile, as we have long indicated, we intend to focus on R&D, toolkit development, and promoting a decentralized industry -- while relying on independent developers to customize, launch and operate all DACs.  We are forging ahead with new toolkit features that may or may not be included in the first BTSX launch, at their discretion.

Naturally, we were delighted to see such a company emerge to launch BitShares X.  The fact that it involved people we know and trust made it a no-brainer perfect solution that met everybody's needs.  As an independent developer honoring the BitShares Social Consensus, they are entitled to our full-scale support as an incubator of DAC incubators.

As for who the specific individuals are.  That's for them to announce when they are ready to do so.

That does help me feel better. But my question is, there will be links to download everything here and on BitShares.org right? Will they have a separate github location or just binaries? How much notice will we get on the final release date and time? There was mention before of two weeks notice. I feel like that really needs to be the case.

Dry Run 10:Very Soon.
Dry Run 11: Very Very Soon.
Dry Run 12: Very Very Very Soon.
Dry Run 13: Very Very Very Very Soon.

Dry Run X:Bye.

Dry Runs will continue as we add new features.... in parallel a team is preparing BTSX.
So that is what it is,thanks for your explain. Can we see the official BTSX version be released this month?

I would bet 75% chance at this stage.    They are waiting for the issues discovered in Dry Run 8 to be resolved such as Delegate Pay, Connection Issues.   There is also the potential that I may get the order matching implemented this week.   It then becomes an issue of deciding to launch and then fork a month later, wait.   I think DACS Unlimited is aiming for the final day of AGS/PTS to launch... but all of this is subject to conditions on the ground as testing finds things.

Any chance of getting some official info about DACS Unlimited? Unless I missed something they were first mentioned in the last newsletter, and we've had some snippets here and there, but nothing like a proper announcement. They have a website but it's only in Chinese, and the design/content/performance of that site doesn't really inspire confidence.

Who are they?
Why were they chosen to launch BTSX?
Will they focus purely on marketing, or will they also do coding and "maintenance" of the DAC?

+5%

I agree there is very little info about this decision. I understand the idea of having someone else release the software to avoid conflicts of interest, but how can we trust this group?

Pulled the latest but still only 4 connections for me.  :-\ Starting with --min-delegate-connection-count 3 allows me to produce blocks again though.

Any updates on this bytemaster?

Running on Windows by the way...

Tried the param --min-delegate-connection-count 3 (added it to target in the shortcut)
Also did the desired connections set to 50. Still not producing blocks.

Still have only 4 connections. Should I forward a specific port from the firewall to my PC? Or is the client using UPnP?

I will have Eric work on making UPnP more robust.   Right now it considers you firewalled if you report a different IP than the server sees.

I don't understand why the fees from delegate registration cause the future fees to increase so much. Do the registration fees actually get paid to the delegates? This seems wrong. Delegate registration fees should just be destroyed and only transaction fees should get paid to the delegates IMO. This would make a much more reasonable curve to the increase in registration fees.

Btw I am also having connection problems on ubuntu. I am pulling the latest and rebuilding now.

How would Bytemaster implement any idea unless he invented it and coined the term? Lulz this is starting to look like a circus

You sure ARE a crabby little patty!  Notice how he doesn't even argue with you?  Just answers your question while ignoring the bash?

Deserving of just a "little" respect crabby?

So I tried to pull the latest and I removed data directory just in case, but now when I try to import private key it says that scanning has been disabled because there are active delegates. So how am I supposed to get my delegate back and producing blocks?! Help?
Forks were caused by delegates that were busy calculating signatures during stress test and missed producing blocks ..
thus BM temporarily disabled TITAN parsing for delegates ..

As a result (until the wallet is multithreaded) you should not manage delegates and your own pocket-money account in the same wallet!

I am pretty sure this is just temporary

Well if I can't use the private keys to import my delegate back into my wallet... How do I get it back?
What are you talking about?

Sure you can .. but you cannot parse 'non-delegate' accounts for their TITAN addresses ... as this step might be too time-consuming AT THE MOMENT!
nothing else .. delegates always sign with the exact same key ... while all transactions on the blockchain generate stealth addresses for payments .. finding payments that concern you is a little more complex .. and as a consequence together with the mass-stress-test .. your wallet takes to much time parsing TITAN transactions ..

Thus, (FOR THE MOMENT) fetching TITAN transaction for a local account is disabled if you have a running delegate
and thus, you should (FOR THE MOMENT) not mix delegate-accounts and non-delegate-accounts in one single wallet!

Thats all I say .. sure you cann move private keys over and over .. funds are safe!

Okay I think I understand now. I'll see if I can get it working.
