General Discussion / Re: No Sommer Announcements for the week?

Announcements do not have value. Software does. Until 2.0 is official and the referral program is operational, words are just words.

We're just trying to protect the site, bud. If someone was selling pipes or bongs, etc., that would be the same to me as someone selling cannabis or seeds. Do you know why? Because governmental authorities cast a very wide net. They shut things down for lesser reasons first and then ask questions later. Even if their actions are based on a misunderstanding, that doesn't really matter, because the damage is done. You are a well-intentioned guy and I have no ill will towards you at all. I would just ask you to respect that BitShares is a great thing waiting to happen, and that if this site were shut down because the authorities THOUGHT there were drug sales going on here, that would be a big shame. PLEASE do not give them that excuse.

Agreed. Well said.

Collectively, the issues exposed creaking digital infrastructure not capable of handling a massive surge in trading on a day with heavy interest in the equity markets.

Hope we can pull those 100,000 transactions per second.

LOL check their twitter https://twitter.com/TDAmeritrade/with_replies

LOL...They get a little credit for the individually typed Twitter replies. Some poor intern probably got that job.

Someone has started pumping it up it seems, several spikes higher.  I sold all the sub 1500 bts that I bought in the mid 1600s, and put it up in a new buywall near 1500 again.  (If I never get the BTS back I am happy, because it means the bottom was already in).

Gotta build the buywalls.

Udaman!

I was able to open an account when the thread was started. It's very impressive.

My only criticisms are that it's too fast and too user friendly  :P

Haven't heard much from Kenny C since he got elected either.

Anyone know what the largest Mumble attendance has been to date? Anyone willing to wager tomorrow's will be the biggest yet?

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Brownie Points (BROWNIE.PTS)
« on: August 13, 2015, 04:46:34 pm »

I think a lot of people are looking at this from the wrong perspective.

From the perspective of a developer I think brownies are a great sharedrop target.  Its a short list of active crypto enthusiasts that have helped the bitshares community in some way,  and can articulate that.  Is it an exhaustive list?  No of course not.  Is it fair?  That depends on how you feel about people doing what they want with their own property.

I know if I was developing a coin it is a list of people I would want to get involved in my coin.

well said.

let's try to focus on the projects rather than what we're getting out of them (i say that because i genuinely believe everyone here will be ok if they see this thing through.....what's of far greater importance are all those poor people who are trying to send money to their families and getting their legs cut out from under them.)

+5% fair point.

Note brownies are subject to dilution at will and supplies can change.

Note Brownies will be promised to Mumble attendees and then never delivered, then Stan will say it's fixed, and then they still won't be delivered.

I wonder who this team is comprised of. Any devs we would know?

Pretty refreshing to read an announcement from Stan with zero hyperbole in it too.

I think some kind of flat rate distribution makes the most sense. You don't give away the farm, the bulk doesn't go to exchanges or whales only, and I think it helps you achieve what you are looking for: Even a small hodler of BTS will be equally incentivized to put some eyes on your project.

Best of luck with it and good to hear from you!

General Discussion / Re: What is Bitshares really doing marketing wise?
« on: August 10, 2015, 10:17:36 pm »
I think when you mouse over a button there should be a pop-up bubble that explains the function or provides a description. An easy enable/disable switch in one of the corners too. I think any client that implemented that simple tool would be at an advantage for referral fees.

General Discussion / Re: Hangout Attendance | 8-7-15 |
« on: August 09, 2015, 01:04:29 pm »
Have updated the spreadsheet each week and responded to the earlier posts for attendance confirmation. Have not received brownie.pts for Mumble hangouts I attended on 7/17, 7/24, 7/31 or 8/7. Column says "Stan Dispursed" 7/17...did those actually get distributed? If so, I was missed.

Thanks!

Okay, understand now that Peertracks picking up Graphene is new, thanks.  Also forgot about the SEO element, so that makes sense too.
