Can anyone help me restore my bitshares stake into Muse? I've tried all possible combinations of getting a active muse account:

I downloaded Muse to Ubuntu Linux. Runs fine. I added the API: ws://128.199.143.47:2018 per Musewhale's guidance. This however does not update the blockchain and I need the blockchain updated to create an account.

I tried from the top of this forum to add the seed nodes at: http://seeds.quisquis.de/muse.html however I can't follow the directions to add the statement to config.ini (because no config.ini file exists for muse on Ubuntu Linux). I've also tried adding each indvidual node in the API but that doesn't work either (not sure that is correct).

I've tried openledger.io . I created a new account. I went to settings and changed the API to the one stated above. That however doesn't work either and when I bring in my .bin file to claim my stake there is no 'claim balances' button.

What can I do guys? i'm worried about this snapshot coming and have nothing in my wallet :(

Sharedrop was only to PTS and AGS.

Some sent BTC in the Pre-sale 2 years ago if you count that as sharedrop.

OpenLedger / ***MUSE Snapshot date - withdraw OPEN.MUSE ASAP***
« on: August 08, 2017, 03:01:56 am »
To everyone that has the asset OPEN.MUSE on OPENLEDGER.
You need to withdraw this asset and put in into your Muse wallet before the snapshot date - AUGUST 9th!

https://steemit.com/muse/@cob/muse-snapshot-date-announcement

Once the new Muse launches, you'll be able to claim your stake and then send the new MUSE asset to OpenLedger for global trading again.

TL;DR?
1. Ensure your MUSE is sitting in your wallet (not on exchanges)
2. Keep it there until the 12th of August – do not transfer it around or trade it

Muse/SoundDAC / MUSE Snapshot date announcement!
« on: August 08, 2017, 02:55:21 am »
A snapshot of the current Muse blockchain will be taken between the 9th and 11th of August.

https://steemit.com/muse/@cob/muse-snapshot-date-announcement

This means you should:

  • Ensure your MUSE is sitting in your wallet (not on exchanges)
  • Keep it there for the full 3 days – do not transfer it around or trade it (OpenLedger/BitShares ARE exchanges!)

1. That's the correct file type. You should try to import it in web wallet and you will see your balances pop up. If they do, great. That's the correct wallet, keep it for the new chain.

2. No

3. It works on my side. I did get the screen as you yesterday but after clicking retry, it worked no problem. Try it a few times and let us know.

Hi everyone.
Take a look at today's Steemit post
https://steemit.com/muse/@cob/muse-testers-wanted

I assume most of you already have an account there. If so, upvote and resteem. Needs visibility! If you don't have an account, you can share through traditional means. Essentially, the aim is to attract tech-savvy users.

TL;DR
  • Join us on Slack using the link in the post
  • Tell your friends to do the same
  • If tech-savvy, join the testers channel
  • Scroll up to july 16th to see the videos
  • Give feedback, ask questions, kick some ass

The BTC keys that are taken into consideration as far as I know are the pre-sale ones. So AGS and PTS should claim their MUSE now, using the GUI provided in the post (you can wait for the https to be set up though!)

FYI link had expired to join slack. here's the new one: https://join.slack.com/musecommunity/shared_invite/MjEwMzM2Mzg4MjYyLTE0OTk0NDM3MjAtZDM4MTI2MjY1ZQ

Hi everyone.

Take a look at this: https://steemit.com/muse/@cob/muse-project-status-update-action-soon-required
and read through the comments as well.

See if you are able to claim your stake of MUSE before the new chain launches.
(Snapshot date not announced yet)

Here's the slack invite link to those interested.

Muse/SoundDAC / My update on the Slack channel
« on: September 27, 2016, 05:44:07 pm »
Greetings everyone.
Quick update for y'all!
TROOPEERS first:
The Troopeers BETA should be ready in 10 days. We will then hand it over to our NY based attorney so that he may rip through it with his team and draft up our terms & conditions document.
We will then need to fill it up with small time indie people first, then open it up to their fan bases.
During the first week the plan is to use google analytics to really explore the usage of our users and the shortcomings of the app. Then based off of user usage, we will improve and modify the app.
If all is good, then we move on to add the extra features that make the concept more powerful (such as token tipping, ad portal, etc.)
October will be eventful!

Muse:
Muse is getting one hell of a revamp. We are also monitoring and considering intergration with the dotblockchain music project. It is an open sourced project that has some good traction and connections within the music world. So this week we are looking at how we could leverage their efforts to make Muse more mainstream right out the gates. The worst case scenario is that what they are doing is sub-optimal (still looks a tad too much like the old music industry at first glance) and we will stick to our own copyright music database.
We are finishing with the DB part for that exact reason. It might be offloaded. Everything else on Muse is running quite smoothly I must admit.

On my side of things:
I just came back from the Future of Music Forum in Barcelona where I gave a speech and was on a Panel talk regarding what we are doing with blockchain technology. Very receptive group of people. They didn't know much about blockchains which surprised me a little since normally when I am asked to attend events like this, they have a basic understanding of what the tech is/can do. This was not the case this time! I looked like a dude from outer space lol. Ended up being a good thing since I stood out much more then other attendees. I was also the very last person to speak into the microphone since my panel talk was the last one of the whole 3 days event and I was the final panelist to talk. I said "IP is doomed in the short term" haha. That got people's attention!
Then the networking was quite amazing. Barcelona is a place where sleep is optional....

I fly out to another event in Belgium next week. Very busy couple of weeks I must say.
As you have noticed, I check the forums only once in a blue moon.

yeah, the site was still hosted by a third party.

It has been transfered over to our side now.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: Why so silent?
« on: June 15, 2016, 04:24:25 pm »

I solved two birds with one stone by focusing on Troopeers. It's a single pitch. "Whoever you are, if you have or want an engaged fanbase, sign the hell up!"
The onramping is easy with a centralized DB as a back end. We will then snapshot all token balances to MUSE once the blockchain is to a point we are happy with.

This means that Troopeers can do its thing, irrespectively of MUSE. MUSE can be upgraded to something much more viable. Only then will the music branch launch (PeerTracks.com)

We simply can't afford a giant team though, so progress is slow. Troopeers' success should allow us a much much bigger budget.

ATM ressources are focused on Troopeers. Shortly switching gears to MUSE. Then we hook up Troopeers to MUSE, followed by PeerTracks.

I do not quite get it. What is the part that MUSE broadchain needs to be upgraded to 'something more viable'?  MUSE broadchain is a decentralised database which you can use store the token balances.  Why do we need a big team for that?

I'm not at liberty to disclose this quite yet. Ping me in 4 weeks!

I'm sorry cob, it's to little, too late for me.
Sorry to see you go sir.

I also disagree with your approach, priorities and assessment on the Graphene built blockchain. If you had launched peertracks and focused on the original mvp based on the original vision of enabling the viral distribution and marketing of music by fans incentivised by new connections to the artists they discover, perhaps muse would have had a value that could then be supporting further development, wether by yourself or the community. That is one pitch right there.

That actually was plan A. But...  "new shit has come to light, man" and we were faced with a fourfold problem.
-Forced bundling of content with content creators.
-The automatic royalty splitter had nothing to split.
-Bad UX.
-Charting relied on users understanding tokens so much that they would be willing to dish out funds.

All these issues have been resolved and they all point to my roll out strategy. Troopeers --> MUSE  --> PeerTracks

Quote
now it's come down to negotiating with entrenched business interests for whom royalty extraction is a dying business model
EEW! No! haha. (yes on the dying business model though!)
What we are doing is targeting content creators instead of content consumers.
So we are going after the celebs, the public figures, the bands, the actors, the streamers, etc. They fill Troopeers with profiles and THEY will notify their pre-existing fan base of the new way to support them and interact with them.
So our priority is filling Troopeers up with profiles and tokens. Fans cannot come first.
And yes, there are business (labels and publishers) that have multiple artists signed up with them. Naturally we target them as well.
Troopeers has nothing to do with making the Legacy monetization method a tiny bit better. We ignore that shit entirely and provide a NEW way to monetize your time/attention as a star.
PeerTracks, which requires a couple more moving parts (a splitter that has something to split for example) is merely the music branch of the project.

I wish you and whoever is working with you the best of luck.

Thanks Ben. Keep an eye out on the project this summer. You could still be an early adopter if ever we deliver something ^^
