From what you all tell me of Dark, it looks like they are supporting their price NuBits style, offering interest to encourage holding.  As long as the interest rate is above the long-term price decline everyone holding is breaking even.

I got to thinking about why it is so hard to bootstrap a business in crypto and it is because NEW investors are always bailing out OLD investors which sucks up all of the capital.   We can easily resolve all of this by placing unclaimed BTS from delegates INTO a yield fund for BTS holders.   Having a yield fund would encourage people to move their money off of exchanges and to hold it for longer periods of time.

The side effect of a yield fund is that it wouldn't actually debase ANYONE except those who are looking to cash out short term. IE: transfer of value from those who want short term liquidity to those who are in this for the long run.

In effect YIELD == DRK model.  Whether or not this is a good idea remains to be seen.

I mentioned this once in the forums but nobody listened. It needs to be at least 5% interest per year, more would be better. Anything lower and you will not attract many investors.

In the code you should make it possible that the longer you keep it in your wallet, the more interest you earn. You get paid every week interest. This encourages holding. Once the price moves up, naturally people will start to sell.

Focus on BitUSD and other currencies/assets. I want it to be easier to put my money in BitUSD or BitGLD and just hold. What I want is a iPhone wallet, where I can send my Bitcoins and inside of the wallet, trade my Bitcoins for BitUSD with two options, automatically with METAEXCHANGE, or with people online or nearby. That way you are creating your own on-ramps. Say I'm in USA and I need USD, I search for users nearby, then I contact one asking to trade them in BitUSD or Bitcoin or whatever asset they want. I get my USD and they get their Bitasset. IS THAT TOO HARD? All you need is to make a iPhone and Android wallet app with this capability. I've going to  +5% my own post. :)

General Discussion / Re: What's happening with the price?

I sold all of mine, I don't know where the bottom is, but it looks like there is nothing stopping it from falling further.

Good news everywhere; Moonstone, centralized Exchanges are being hacked every week, DPOS-powered PeerTracks will set the social sites on fire, ByteMaster (and others) are bringing in Partners, Let's Talk Bitcoin (the Bitcoins & Gravy show) is about to do a 30min interview with the "Peer to Peer 2015" roadcrew........ man, too much good news to ignore now.

$5, $10, $500, whatever you can afford.

This is the 1 investment in your lifetime that you'd better not miss.

If ByteMaster would code more than writing all those articles the price wouldn't be so low, I'm glad I left Bitshares and went into Dash, I made almost all my money back that I lost from the Bitshares price drop by moving to a developer that works harder than anyone I know. I invest in active developers, not in college students that lean back hoping that people give them cash for their wallet that isn't the best. If you want Bitshares to succeed create a better product, where are the on-ramps? Not seeing much progress that was promised.

So, tell me, why are you posting here instead of on the Dash forum?

Because I still believe Bitshare can be a great product, but it's has very poor management and the devs are slow compared to the competition.

Real innovation is much harder and thus time consuming bluebit. Are u blue meanie on twitter by chance?  "Dash" is POW and it's lies (aka "instant transactions" that actually take 20 seconds+) have been spread far and wide by the cult of pow miners who enjoy the media infrastructure in place from bitcoin.  All I'm reading here is FUD.

No I'm not blue meanie. Also, I'm not here to bash Bitshares or other coins, only here to point the poor management and slow development. And "real innovation" still does not explain the gui issues and bugs in the wallet, Bitshares already has enough innovation, it just needs to step on peddle instead being stuck in first gear. I put a lot of money into Bitshares, and I'm glad I left for now, once I see a better wallet, devs actually completing goals instead of lagging behind, then I'd be happy to invest. I see devs spending money with work that isn't paying off vs the competition and the market cap is showing that. And for those that bash on other coins, what good will that do for Bitshares? Nothing. Remember we are all here to help each other, not to spread negativity or hate.

General Discussion / I don't want to buy Bitshares

I don't want to buy Bitshares, all I want is to buy/sell BitUSD for Bitcoin, or some other asset for Bitcoin.

General Discussion / Why doesn't Bitshares do something like this?
« on: March 18, 2015, 03:50:49 pm »
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/core-developer-contest-and-sponsor-program.4358/

It seems like a better idea to have the main developer of the project to build a team of new developers than have the community vote developers in or out, the public shareholders know nothing about development, only other developers that are shareholders would know who is a good candidate...

I like it that the devs aren't posting on these forums, some spend way to much time in here reading and posting when they could be working with the money that the shareholders paid them. I'm always keeping an eye on the Bitshares Github. When I see very little progress, I see a project that is going nowhere.
