General Discussion / Re: Announcing Brownie Points (BROWNIE.PTS)
« on: July 31, 2015, 02:16:02 pm »
Thanks Clains for pointing this out.

* I held a large percentage of some BitAssets in the early days.
* Found some bugs in various Bitshares versions
* Did the first BitUSD give away (was a bit of a disaster though)
* Did some social media for BTS ( https://twitter.com/BitSharesNews / http://www.scoop.it/t/bitshares )

On a side note:
I just found out that I'm the owner of BTS.news and bitshares.news
I no longer have any plans for these, so if you're interested pm me an offer.
Preferably they would go to a well known bitsharestalk member.

General Discussion / Re: BitAsset 3.0 Concerns

Let's assume for a second that Bitassets 3.0 are implemented.
And I'm a new user interested in using them.

Can you ELI5 bitassets in 10 sentences? (more I would probably walk away)

It started with Tron I believe:

This is the Guerbuz one:

There have been several others in the past weeks

It's "funny" but apparently DPOS doesn't even stand for Delegated POS anymore.
Since this whole #altsareback hype it stands for Dynamic POS, used for every new shitcoin for the last couple of weeks.

Be sure to don't miss out on the next one tomorrow Viral produced by the trustworthy Adam Guerbuz.

General Discussion / Re: Why no one is shorting bitassets?
« on: April 29, 2015, 10:39:40 am »
I, personally, increased the # of BTS I have by ~45% in the last month or so with no new money involved... and about 50% of that was because...  the market rules and attitude towards shorts sucks...
I wish I had a clue and could trade like this too  :-\

In the meantime I will stick with things I know best :) coding some python and doing support for free  ;D

I wish I could code like pro/you. That way I would not have to give free advice or increase my position and to end up with more BTS but less money... :(

So here is the perfect place to give an example of what you SHOULD say here Tony (if you want people to respect and listen to you).
"I wish I could code like pro/you. That way I would not have to give free advice or increase my position and to end up with more BTS but less money... :("
could be:  "I wish I could get someone to understand that people like me who are shorting bitAssets into existence are also getting put in a place that puts too much risk to incentivize my doing so..."o

You see how this takes Xeroc out of it and focuses on the issue?  Xeroc is yet another person who busts his butt (and doesn't need to).

I get it fuzz...no Gut at Englesias, no place at Bitch-shares... I will try working on it for your satisfaction! I promise... I understand it will never be gut enough for your and or beyond (pun punt and whatever surely intended) but hey...someday your son might have to learn another language and I do hope he sees the same hostility!
Cheers!

It has nothing to do with language. You intentionally inserted Xeroc in there as though he was somehow part of the problem.  I don't know if I have the patience to try to explain it any further because for some reason you are giving me hostility over "hostility" that I do not think I have shown you.

Can anyone here be a reality check for me and/or Tony?  Am I seeming hostile?

Oh...and P.S. Tony, don't bring my son into anything you say please.  He is off limits in any discussion unless we are talking about cute babies.  But since you mentioned it, I have asked my wife to teach him of his culture and sincerely hope he learns the language from her because I am ashamed that in America we have largely been raised to really know only one language.  I have taught myself a little french along the way but it is a sore excuse compared to your command of the English language. :)
Reality check answer: I think you're being overly protective of BTS. And it comes across as though everybody who has doubts/critique about BTS is attacked. This is not only you, it's the culture of this forum. It has been this way since the beginning, far before there was even a mention of a merger.

It would be nice if the buy/sell order colums listed the quantity of units. (Bitusd etc..)
The depth chart could do with it's own colum, not really usefull now.

Unable to buy/sell 35005 invalid asset ammount

If Toast is focusing on Music, does that also have positive benefits for BitShares as well?
I recently asked him if he works for BitSharesMUSIC or for PeerTracks, but haven't got an answer yet.
His github account went silent mid of March :(
https://github.com/nmushegian

From my point of view it does not (yet) look as if there are direct positive benefits for BitShares ..
I also never saw a post about what is really happening with the delegates pay, even though nikolai claims they are sent to other devs. Maybe someone can point me there.
It also become rather difficult to get any reply from Nikolai at all .. may be just me.  :-\

Today, I removed nikolai's delegates from my slate. I'll gladly put them up again if he published a short statement because I still trust him.

Coupe of questions:

Bunkershares can only be traded if 1 billion are sold (1.5 mil USD)?

How are you going to promote this project outside of this community?

Feedback:

own.bunkershares.ca feels and looks like a "get rich quick site", especially with the need to register before an offer can be seen.

Don't miss what industry experts are calling the most intriguing offer of 2015!?

Also the medium example is wrong, it has to be 3000 usd in stead of 300.

I think he made it clear he doesnt believe in same things as other core members i doubt hes working on bts.. Probably helped cause the downtrend by selling his millions of bts and every bts he earns via delegate

Haha, now pointing the finger at Toast? He made it clear he left BTS for Note. And if his delegate wasn't voted out, all pay would go to Valvaz.

Apparently the BTS holders thought this was a good idea, to keep the delegate in. Luckily Fuzzy and the awesome  +5% gang, have decided that in times of crisis creating more 100% delegates is the solution. With the help of BM we are made to believe that the extra created BTS, doesn't have a influence on the price. This is why the price is falling, realization has set in that there will never be a fiat crisis, since QE is apparently the solution.

NOTES release: yet another way for PTS bears to get some more BTS that they will be able to dump.

Also: NOTES.  Yet another thing the Bitshares community blew all their money on that wasn't Bitshares, resulting in the price of Bitshares going into a neverending bear trend.  Also see: PLAY.

lol PeerTracks has laughably more going for it than PLAY.  I'm trading NOTES because I believe it has potential to solve a lot of problems within the music industry while challenging the Spotify model IF done properly.   << So let's examine this theory briefly.  Currently Spotify has an estimated market cap of ~$4Billion.. while I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong here) NOTES have ~3.5 million based on recent trading.  That means Spotify is valued at 1,143X the value of the service NOTES and PeerTrack can offer.  My trading is calling shenanigans on that valuation.  The trade can be seen as shorting Spotify or shorting BTS but regardless there're odds I'm willing to take based purely on confidence of the Peertracks team and the underlying technology offered by BitShares,

The things we know about Peertracks:
Logo:
Slogan: Make a LIVIN’ LOVIN’ Music.
Big Launch: SXSW and Texas BTC conference, however not a single article in the media can be found.
Business strategie: secret sauce, we will reveil when we can. Sound familiar?

Same sh*t, different DAC.

Technical Support / Re: Can't log in my wallet
« on: March 06, 2015, 01:02:09 pm »
I had the same problem and did the workaround.

But now it only shows UIA's, not BitAssets and BTS.

I did the wallet rescan blockchain but that didn't help, I did see all (bitasset) transactions popping up though.
My second to last transaction is now on 28 February, with a balance of roughly 5* BTS what it should be.
The last transaction shows a balance of -0.1 BTS on fen 28.

Any ideas?
Try the command 'balance' in console. If it looks correct, back to the main page, right click, refresh. If not, you may need to regenerate your keys.
Thanks, tried regenerating keys, that did the trick.

You do realise that registering a delegate has a big fee, and that refunds aren't possible?

My main concern here, is that you're underestimating the costs and resources needed for a Video DAC.
