I stayed in the first even after you were supposed to have closed it, probably do the same with this one, i can appreciate all the work your doing for everyone to spread around a little PTS, and to keep us up to date around the board, its more like thank you :)

newbie board (or newcomer), for some I think its going to be their first time interacting in a forum (myself for example) and even their first time mining or trading (I have yet to make a trade), as a newcomer its kind of safe to post questions somewhere when that place is setup for you, and PTS being the first coin I read about that seemed like a real investment opportunity, it is going to draw a new crowd to crypto currency, I think you will see more users coming in that like me, don't really know where to start, I mean I have seen some (not alot) instruction for mining that seemed a bit difficult for the novice to grasp.

Meta / Re: membership ranking
« on: November 18, 2013, 05:22:15 am »
I think it will work the way it is, I just read a thread where Ninelives was insulted by a newbie and that triggered thoughts of rankings and how the bitcointalk operates and, ya, how I could become a hero member here, and a newbie may or may not care about my rank and treat me badly or expect me to be more knowledgeable or expect that I am trusted here by the community, I learned in bitcointalk that ranking has nothing to do with who is who or what they know, here if someone would like to interact with someone else they are able to view what that person has been commenting on, how others respond to their post's etc, etc... they can even ask others, if I stopped to listen to a ranking bitcointalk member I would never have had ended up here, but my research suggested that that member had a personal interest in bitshares not working, and so my advice would be do your homework,  and play safe if you have doubts.

Now go post your list of trusted forum members in my post! http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=195.0

pymnt came a few minutes ago, thnx! now I have to expect less i guess, but still, the support here is great so I will still be happily mining.
I do wonder why my hpm seems all over the board, I find the report saying 45 sometimes even 50 hpm, and then drop to 32, currently at 38 with my browser running  ???

It seem that the server has been restarted. last hour I have 600+ shares and between 200 and 600 shares  my earning estimate was between 0.39-0.4. All time. Strange.

Yes, when the round ended I backed up the wallet.  You will get your payout soon.   A new pool with more feedback is being put together by a someone for me.  I will keep you all posted.  Right now this is a manual process.

I hope you get to go all automated on the pool in the near future, hate to see someone working harder than i do..., do you think the work being done on the pool could have something telling us what the current btc value of our mined proto's are? (at least until "shares" overtakes btc)

Got heater and heater  and then Booooooooooooom
Could you have a program that sets maximum processing?
With no Boooom?

Put the number of threads at the end of the address
EG:  Usage : ./coyote HOST PTS_ADDRESS 8

Thanx NineLives, and for your other info around the forum that helps me out.

NP..   Now give me all your money :) :)

What types of products would everyone like to buy with their PTS?

What would be the best delivery method?

Acceptable cost for the service?

When Keyhotee is running there will be no use for such a service obviously, but until then maybe you want some office supply's or whatever without first converting to currency accepted by other delivery services, not saying its something I am going to do, but the financial sector is growing in services and I think "cool! I can spend my PTS on an escrow service!" (I did see an Amazon gift card and e-gifts too), I see a need for businesses to be created and wonder what everyone else's thoughts are on the subject, maybe I would run such a service.

I have a history in Building and will offer Handyman services to those in my Locale (Will go anywhere in the U.S. for the right price  :D)
Looks like PTS will be around as long as Invictus is creating innovative products (don't quote me there).

If I have helped turn the gears of creativity, feel free to tip PdCHKpEdjqt7WRmGeuRmeyNkn8pzV12BSB

Why cut your rates? Your service is one of the few accepting PTS as payment right now (The financial sector is growing, but other wise...).

Rationalization #3 - The opportunity window isn't over and they're still for sale!

My brother and mother just installed another little pool of mac mini's.  They're in this for the long haul.  Even if they are just sweeping up PTS dust between now and the next DAC launch, that dust will be worth having.  They are counting on us coming up with a better way for the little guy to get in on the action in the upcoming rounds and plan to be ready this time.

  No pressure.

Meanwhile, they decided to break down and just buy some PTS. I did too. While we were all in a mining frenzy the past two weeks trying to get something for "free", wise investors just bought some saw their PTS go from 0.001 to .01 BTC.  One full order of magnitude.  Not bad for two weeks.

You have'nt missed out.  They're still cheap.  Now get back out there and buy one for the Gipper!

Gee, I feel better already!

I have wanted to buy PTS also, with cash, but also in it for the long haul I am thinking of mining as a my means of retirement.

BitShares PTS / Re: Transaction Fees (Protoshares Wallet)
« on: November 16, 2013, 06:30:46 am »
I can't even get the stupid wallet to work... every other time I open it, it claims the chain is corrupt and has to reload it. I don't touch it otherwise, no malware, no virus... it just decides it needs to reload the entire chain.

Rather annoying/

Is this version 0.2.0? its late, but if I remember correctly I was having a problem and had to search the forum for a fix, and found this http://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=370.0 I could not figure out how to update wallet, but I guess when the block chain forks you need to get the latest version of the client.

Looks like it is going to climb faster than I thought, good luck reading all that info though, I think I will still be hashing at the next rise.
