Now you PM me to send you some NHZs, cause if you have to go and buy them... it is another 7-8 steps process...

I like the idea, and when I have spare time I could work on it. But my to-do-list is awefully long, that's why I offer a bounty for creating it.

Until then: when you're logged in there's a question mark in the top right corner which contains a link to the detailed NXT AE tutorial.

I deposited 1K BTSX, now what?

Now you read the next FAQ - how to add assets to the AE...  :)

Now my account ID disappeared and says to send a message to protect the account. Oh my... A bunch of cryptic messages.
I sent you a message, so that warning disappeared, however my account ID is still gone.

You are pretty unlucky with your ID/accounts/tx these days. :)

You can view the accumulated transaction fees via the get_info call in the CLI... these are slowly paid to the delegates over 2 weeks.

Code: [Select]
"blockchain_accumulated_fees": "150,446.30993 BTSX",

Sure thing... I see CEOs burning money on the way home every day
I see.

The idea of shareholders owning the DAC has turned into the board of directors owning the company…
How typical and how fast the crypto world follows the same path as the meat world.

Except shareholders pick the delegates and the delegates can have hard-coded destruction of funds...

Nice explanation ..
could you crop the screenshots to only show the main window?

Of course. :) I'm probably going to wait until a release with X background and not XT and redo them all at once.  It was late and I wanted to get something out there that can be linked to and should prevent anyone from getting hungup on the process.  Tonight I'll go over it again, get rid of the bullet points and create proper captions etc.

edit - It appears I have outed myself. lol.  I am one of many, Friends of Bitshares.

No just rename yourself UF   ;D

Here is what is going on:

He has received all transactions, but when you "re-scan" you do not detect outgoing transactions.

So when you cleared pending transactions you deleted your knowledge of those transactions from your wallet.   His transaction record is accurate, your balance is accurate, but your transaction record is missing those 2 transactions.

Are you saying that unless I keep my local hard drive safe, I have no way of ever reconstructing the missing transactions in the ledger?

I mean if I export my wallet, then some transactions occur, then my hard drive dies , will I be able to re-create my account from scratch from that older wallet?
(This happened to me by the way and I lost 400 PTS during donation period, because I thought Qt PTS used the same change address, so my backup didn't work). I also hope your change addresses are deterministic.

All private keys we generate are deterministic and can be regenerated.... as long as you have registered all of your accounts you will have an easy time recovering your balance, but your detailed account history could be gone for ever.  If you have unregistered accounts and do not know the public keys for them, then you will have to brute force scan with all of your keys and that could take an eternity (doable, but painful).

For this reason I recommend registering all accounts on the blockchain *or* backing up all public keys for the unregistered accounts you do create.

This should be posted some place more prominent!

No it was not. Only the balance in the account (the total) was.
It is accurate now though, ~12 h later.

No just I feel too lazy to explain the effect of destroying transaction fees…
If you do not want to figure it yourself out, the topic should be discussed (in this forum including).

From what I've read the pay rate percentage isn't how much you keep vs return to the market it's how much you keep vs "destroy to reduce supply".  So it's not like if you're at 50% you're being less greedy (in the short term).  You're just reducing the number of BTSX by destroying half the transaction fees you earned.  This will likely increase the value of each BTSX in a classic supply/demand sense I guess.

Someone correct me if I've misunderstood this.

Corrected as requested!

Personally I would prefer a delegate with 100% pay who has a solid targeted plan to use that income wisely, rather than one with 0% pay who is essentially targeting everyone equally.

I do not know where you live, but in this country we have seen a lot of politicians claiming to know how to spend our money better than us.

Most of the time the money not spend for themselves/given to friends are used for starting a war or two with random country.
So, I personally am not voting for any delegate with over about 15% pay rate, period.

On a serious note, I suggest

Perper

It was a ‘ancient’ coin btw and sounds a bit like p2p.

* the perper was a large unit of currency: the imperial tax was one perper per year per house
