The market requires a minimum market depth before any trades occur to prevent the SIDS attack (Sudden Investment Death Syndom) where low volume allows the attacker to control the initial price.   A lot of effort has gone into the design of the initial starting condition which will require a minimum market depth on both sides of the market before trades begin.

skipping the XT phase on the other hand was hidden secret until 2 days ago.

No it does not, that's why I bring it up.

This thing in particular is known since about 2/28... skipping the XT phase on the other hand was hidden secret until 2 days ago.

I'd say it overestimates because you have BTC -> BTSX from everyone but BTSX->BTC only from a small subset of people who want to dump

I do not think 250,100 PTS is small subset, but that's only my opinion and opinions:
‘are like a**es, everybody has one...everybody's stink and nobody wants to hear yours.’

Is that their balance? Bter also honored the snapshot, which belongs to which?

http://www.btc38.com/trade/reserves.html
Choose ‘PTS’ from the drop down menu.

Ahhh, You know how to spell PTS in Chinese, right? :D

I thought Bter is the 'smaller' of the two, in Chinese terms, but I might be wrong.

If this address: PtvJzF8UsgPb7WEzda6ZpKRa5tepifvytV
1.Holds predominantly customers money, as opposed to funds owned by the exchange itself, the prices can be reasonably considered accurate prediction of the opening bts x prices…, imho.

2.Which only means my trade nailed it! (0.0115+0.0124)/2*640*4 mil = 30.60Mil

 ;D

price will reach 0.02btc per btsx soon in btc38.  you are lucky

Actually if it does I am not lucky, I am too conservative; and I would lose some money.

@ Empirical1 and other interested in buying BTS.

I do not know if this is good or bad news for you but:
I have found counter party and have sold 75% of my position at 31.25 Mil  USD (at $640/BTC) market cap.
50% of the money, by both sides, is transferred to escrow, so it is effectively done!  :)

@ Agent86 – my security deposit is 35%. The other party finds the amount satisfactory, so…

 +5%

I'm glad you were able to make a deal with and sort out escrow on terms you were happy with.

I'm also glad there's someone willing to buy a big position at $31.25 Million.

Your remaining 25% still leaves you with a nice stake, I hope you will keep it and share in the success of X :)

Ohhhh, if I am correct or partially correct I intend to use most of the money to re-buy a bigger stake than the one I had.
If I am wrong and you guys were correct I will repurchase but unfortunately a smaller stake… things of life, you know, you cannot have it both ways.

Ok. Hope it works out!

I wasn't too impressed when you challenged me in this thread, but I came across some of your posts in other threads and actually found I agree with a lot of what you have to say. I think it's good you speak your mind.

I think we nailed it:

How do they enforce the shorts? Margin? If yes how much?

Sorry my Chinese is real bad... :D

OK I see the OP. Did they multiply the PTS left on the exchange on 2/28 by 1.33 to get to 2 mil or what???

Thanks for the quick reply!

From the newsletter:
>>DACs Unlimited (dacsunlimited.com) will release BitShares X.

Very appropriate site http://dacsunlimited.com/,  imho, a lot of promise and ... no content.

Just like an exchange, with no trades on it.

:D

There is little point in arguing here.

At the end of the day, you will do whatever you decide to do.

I can find and post the threads/posts that people asked you to skip XT as it is pointless. On which you said that you will do it anyway, just because you feel like it. And those comments were the only public knowledge before dropping the bomb that you suddenly have sobered up.

Yep we're dropping the T

That’s why insider trading is illegal.

Having this info 36h ago, would have saved me 10s of thousands of USD.

I just wonder if the other party new???

This was all public information. There would be no difference in the price if they launched as "XT" vs "X." The "T", for test, would eventually come off as the marketcap surpassed $1 billion or so. The first chain is how you get a preallocation in future bitshares x banks

toast edit: formatting

The public information was that it would XT, T standing for ‘test’; And nothing to test, really… except if DPOS can handle 1000 transaction per day…
