Mostly want to look at this source, very excited!

You should go down to the DAC sub-forum and have a look at some of the ideas being thrown around, will give you an idea of how money can be made by a DAC.

I like this concept, I was thinking a similar method could be used for implementing a Media DAC (think liberman's thinking along these lines as well) or the Media DAC could "rent" services from Torrent DAC to use for it's distribution mechanism. I think this idea could could (and should) be implemented ASAP as it has huge potential.

Ok cool I'll check it out.

The biggest, insurmountable, competitive advantage that Bitcoin has is that it is not JP Morgan.   :)

LOL didn't want to say anything, but yeah pretty much. Love it when corporations miss/ignore the point purely to turn a profit...

I believe the project is being worked on at GitHub, go to the following link:

https://github.com/InvictusInnovations/BitShares

Clone the project to your hard-drive and use with your IDE. I haven't really looked at it, but at a guess it'll be based on Bitcoin's source so if you are familiar with that then you will have a base to start with.

Does anyone have a camera to do a live stream. It would be cool if someone did a mini interview about the BitShare's project with a status report. I'd be happy to set up the live stream channel if I knew we had boots on the ground to do an interview.

Even post-event would be cool, good promotion material to stick on the website/forum

I caught this late and went to move my PTS from Bter to my wallet... They had 0 confirms as of block 32000.  What does this mean for me?  Will my PTS wallet get the Memcoins since my balance wasn't confirmed in time?

If the coins were not at your address with at least 1 confirmation on block 32000, then you didn't make it.

Here's a list of balances as at 32000

Just curious, did you use ABE to obtain this? If not how did you go about it?

Did we establish if any content from this will be made publicly available? Really wish I lived in the states, keen to talk in person with people (a lot of what I say doesn't translate well into writing when I'm having a million thoughts).

Actually, I think something like this would work...

The odds would be determined by how many ppl bet on whatever outcome side. The money is kept in the chain as long as the contest runs and the the grader of the contest would receive a small percentage of the pool.

Been working as a software developer for sportsbetting/horseracing/casino operators for the last 15 years in Antigua and i am sure that even pro operators would be  interested in something like that.

Yeah I think the market for this is big but it's a huge project that I feel requires a few other DAC's to appear to create services that could be utilised to make this happen. My weekend is looking free so I'll try and knock up a break down of how this may work (please anyone else feel free to contribute a 'vision', that's the point of DAC's in my opinion, we all contribute).

I also think it'll take a while to implement because it's an example of a DAC that would have to interact will physical entities (i.e. the athletes, teams etc.) which most of the other ideas proposed so far don't extend into (short I suppose of the end users/developers/moderators). In my head I can see a future world where there would be DAC's that act in a similar fashion, take for example of power plant DAC. It would require physical generators to produce the energy so there would be an overlap with the digital corporation and the physical products of the real world. These sort of projects, at least to get to the scale I imagine them, would require very large amounts of capital which means more promoting the idea of DAC's to the general public to get investors/developers/whatever interested (I still encounter friends who don't know what bitcoin is despite it being in the News heavily at the moment...).

Can anyone explain succinctly what memory coin does and why we want to use it?

Allows decentralized storage? About as basic as I can break it down, the voting and chairperson bits I'm not quite clear on...sounds a little centralised for my taste but anyway...

Hmmmm....mmmm

Half an eye on this one...
