Only flicked throw this as I was pretty amazed at the audacity of JPMorgan, I guess they might become what itunes is to bittorrent if they market this correctly. I would have thought they'd have vested interests in the current electronic banking industry who wouldn't want to loose grip of the market they control but anyway...

one post above, in fact in both two above, it says you should use the form and send no more pms...

I thought you just read the thread title and posted away based on the first thing to pop into ones head...

And alas, the quest for who would rule DAC storage began! Should be interesting to see where this heads along with similar other projects, really interesting days :D

NameCoin has this ability as well. Even though it's limited at the moment it shows that it can be done.

Should update the thread title to reflect the bounty being paid...

Cool idea, I think there is something in it but it will require a lot of work like all our ideas. I'm starting to think the best way to approach DAC's is to work on very fundamental DAC's that will be useful for future, more complex structures (a webserver DAC for instance).

I often lay in bed thinking about DAC implementations, keep a note pad by at all times!

once again thank you both  :)

This will be exciting!
Is it possible to make mining, miners perform any task that a cpu can perform? I mean could they host websites, run multiplayer games like say.. battlefield, play videos to users like youtube?

In a way, I imagine cryptocurrencies such as NameCoin & DataCoin will be utilised for data storage requirements. The "miners" would be using their cpu's to keep track of what files are meant to be stored, uploading data when requested, encryption etc. etc.

Like Troglodactyl said not all DAC's will necessarily require "mining", although I reckon most will to track share ownership and dividend payments.

Think of ProtoShares like coming up with the idea of having an idea and always being credited with any idea that is formed after that moment. So someone (Person 2) has the idea of the wheel. Because you were clever enough to think of ideas and share it with the world, the person who makes the wheel decides you should receive some of the credit because  you allowed him to have his idea. From there someone (Person 3) might come up with a way to improve the idea of the wheel, like adding spokes for instance, so Person 3 credits the idea of wheel. This means Person 2 receives credit as they came up with the idea but you also receive credit because Person 2 gave you credit for the idea of the wheel.

And, looking ahead, there is always Shanghai 2014:
http://bitcoinmagazine.com/8467/bitcoin-expo-2014-announced-for-shanghai/
Just for info from this post: "With this in mind, the conference’s organizers are very optimistic, aiming to attract 5000 attendees. At this point, very little is set in stone; sponsorship offers are wide open for anyone who wants to take them. Anyone interested in speaking should contact the conference organizers at conference@bitcoinexpo2014.com. Enjoy another great Bitcoin conference!"

A trip to China is in order! There was meant to be a conference late last month over here but it was cancelled, hopefully it goes ahead for early next year.

Love how people come in here expecting easy money. Get a job if your that desperate for money, don't put your hopes into mining a digital currency.

Have a job mate! and don’t expect easy money. Just pointing out that this is probably not profitable for the average user to mine.

Love how people make over blown reactions to comments :P

So why come and tell us, we already know this, you aren't adding anything.
