Normally I would say yes, however keep in mind the Vegas conference. As BM told there won't be any announcements but at least I'm waiting until after October 7th

Well it's not up to me to debate this, for me it makes sense and I get the feeling that the community accepted it as well. I think particular products in this family can be re-branded and those names would just be used for internal communication so no worries.

I don't see any problem with the name

BitSharesX - kinda as in Exchange, just like ForeX.

BitShares is just the family name

BitShares Music
BitShares DNS
BitShares WhatsNext

Indeed there was a debate on this a while back but have not searched back for it, but this was my understanding from it all.
Oh BitShares Music tokens are called Notes I believe.

General Discussion / Is it time to close the curtains?

No doubt this forum has been priceless for everything happened so far but I think at one point a decision needs to be made about its future. Not to close the forum but to make it invite only or hide it from the masses.

There's so much talent and ideas here and discussions should continue, but since BitSharesX is shaping up rather nicely and it's about to get promoted to the world wouldn't it be better to start something new aimed at end users? This goes for DNS and Music as well. I think the people who actually can contribute to something are already here and those who aren't will find their ways via invites.

I think it's another small but necessary step to get rid of the shady and sometimes amateurish appearance which the whole cryptoworld is suffering from (as seen from the world outside). It's a business and when people are doing some research on all this (Google) they should be presented with facts and numbers, not with endless discussions of uncertainties. Most end users would only care about functionality, privacy and profits, not about how it's made.

I think we should continue using this as development and behind-the-scenes forum and come up with a unified front for all others. Of course all user accounts can be migrated to the new environment but it should act as a real product support forum with a suggestion box while the real work is being done here.

Just my thoughts, looking forward hearing your opinions.

Great post Gamey, lets go for this, probably it will suit us well since for now it's not a very large group of people (that I know of) but it draws attention and might grow quickly. Do you already have contact with Bitsapphire for adding the tasks forum?

Also now the 'task groups' are a bit divided and seem to not be up to date on each others moves. I will contact theFuzz as well he;s also working on something (Not sure if he's already updated about this).

Lets get it started as soon as the forum is made, thanks Gamey!

To all others: Please consider being a part of this, a few minutes/hours of your time can ultimately have big results which will benefit us all.

Hi guys,

I'm looking for RSS resources to add to the news service, I see a lot of Bitshares related sites don't have it or maybe I didnt see it. The backend is complete and if you want to be added as a beta subscriber please do let me know so you can receive emails as from today. Since things run completely automatic now we can send out more mails. I think 2 each day would be ok without being too spammy but u can set it in your preferences later, no worry. Please note that all emails are customized now based on the users preferences .

Hi guys, thanks for the responses. It seems a system similar is already in the making right now (received message from theFuzz last night) and I will just keep on focusing on DACZine which will be a small part of that as well. I will launch a fully automated news service (with custom articles when available) within a few days. I will migrate the accounts to this new system and I think its a bit more useful then whats available now. It's just taking too much time to create a full newsletter each day myself. You will be able to add your own sources, filters, mail templates etc and the news will be delivered each day to your mailbox or a personalized view on the site. If you would like to be part of the beta just let me know I think the first mails will go out somewhere tomorrow and a working but limited version will be online this weekend. As i told theFuzz, if I can be of use with something on other proejcts please do let me know.

Sounds nice, but I think it won't take long before automated chess bots take over the votes for the next move.

Hi guys, got a little busy these days but today i started with the initial design. This is where it's going but its still a little rough and more a sign of me being alive then showing a design :P

Now with my big mouth I also thought it was better to have this as a community platform and build it without any official support. However I'm a bit worried about spending the next two full weeks building it and then another two optimizing it without it ever being put to work. Do you think it's fair to ask for development funds for this platform (and if yes, how?) and do you guys think if it should only be build with official support or just by ourselves?

Here's some more details about what I had in mind.

  • Besides the platform administrators regular members can post tasks as well
  • Bounties can be added to each task to shorten completion time
  • Tasks can be selected my members (workers) and will be locked for an x amount of time set by our admins before an initial design, code or task specific content has to be uploaded to show that the member is capable of completing it. If so the task will be assigned to that member, if not it will be put to available again
  • Tasks can be split to allow multiple workers. The worker who accepts the task can split it in smaller tasks and delegate it to his buddies. Upon completion of all task-pieces the task will be marked as completed and is ready for review by us or the task submitter
  • The system allows for tasks which need to be repeated an x amount of times before completion (like upvoting, sharing etc)

Trying to get www.beyondbitcoinx.net into something like that

You're working on it already? Let me know otherwise Ill create it. I want it to be part of the 'marketing portal' as proposed by Gamey earlier where people can sign up, pick a task which suits their skills and mark it as complete. We could use the stats page above to validate and reflect all actions. Want to incorporate some kind of timeline view where events and stats are merged. Please note I do not have talked with Gamey yet about it so maybe he has a plan ready otherwise Ill create the paper and see if it fits our needs.

Sorry guys, I don't have the original psd anymore. Thought it was backed up but cant find it anymore. Maybe Brian or BM still has a copy of them, I've transferred the final version to them.
