The investors here are mainly miners and (day)traders.

Personally, I'd love it if all those people dumped their PTS.

guess I'll just sit on my PTS, BTS, and AGS until it appreciates or starts returning dividends, I was always going long on this investment anyway. For me, it makes no sense to keep going for around 1 PTS a day.

Great! Good thinking.

I think this thread is full of people trying to mine for a profit who are confused about their role in the cryptocurrency space
Yeah, I could see their frustration then. It's not a "coin" like most miners are used to, although it does have that feel, uses a QT wallet, etc. When I learned about PTS and started mining last year, it was all about mining as many "shares" as possible as a stake in future dividends. I always saw it as long term, as in many months to years. I have only mined, purchased more, and donated for AGS. I'll continue this, but via Scrypt as I can make more BTC, in a Rube Goldberg method to get more PTS then mining directly. ;)

Based off this new information (new to me), about the difficulty never going back down. It's appears to be a pretty easy business decision. With having around 10K CPM in my farm, it would seem to be best financially to switch over to Scrypt and utilize a pool like ScryptGuild.com that mines the most profitable Alt, then auto-sells and pays me in BTC. I guess I'll just sit on my PTS, BTS, and AGS until it appreciates or starts returning dividends, I was always going long on this investment anyway. For me, it makes no sense to keep going for around 1 PTS a day. :o

Correct me if I'm wrong but if now since the total hashing power of the PTS network is dropped significantly, will difficulty not auto adjust down at the next retarget? So all miners should just chill for a month and come back mid-April. :-\ (Obviously keep some seed nodes up.)

BitShares PTS / Re: What is BitShares PTS (proto-shares)?
« on: March 04, 2014, 12:32:07 am »
I bought some PTS and forgot about it until I learned only today about the snapshot event. Looks like I missed the opportunity as my PTS was in an exchange (Cryptsy).

Can someone please advise/explain how I can convert/sell PTS into Bitshares now? Thank you.
Since Bitshares XT is not actually available yet, there is really nothing you can do but wait. In the meantime, you might ask Cryptsy what their plans are for situations like yours. Ask them if they will send you the BTS once it's up and running.

everyone dumped their PTS  ::) hmmm i knew that was going to happen just sat around and let it my money dissapear... PTS will still give you stake in future innovations though yes?
Yup, you've secured your stake in future innovations.  And no worries, your money hasn't disappeared.. instead, the value of your PTS has simply shifted into BTS.  8)
Think of it as a stock split.  ;D

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Status Update
« on: March 04, 2014, 12:21:56 am »
..SNIP..
Now that the hectic support activity from Keyhotee founder ids has settled down, I've been diving into the existing code for keyhotee ID mining. Getting that operational is the next major task for me. I have a rough idea of what needs to be done, but I'm still mapping out the details before I make major changes.
This is great news. I have a feeling once we can turn other people on to Keyhotee, getting them setup so we can securely communicate (Chat/Kmail), it will be the "hook" that opens the opportunity to learn more about Invictus. It will also help them get interesting and excited about current and future DACs. +5% Crypto and privacy are going to be huge this year.

BitShares AGS / Re: Repost: Announcing AGS & BitShares Allocation
« on: March 02, 2014, 05:39:23 pm »
OK, my donating have been confirmed on March 1st , even I can not gain BTS, but I have got more AGS.
Just remember that the wallet you made the donation from, either in PTS or BTC, needs to be backed up and protected from here on out (i.e. more than one backup location). The proof of ownership now resides with you and the control you have over your private keys to those addresses.

BitShares AGS / Re: Repost: Announcing AGS & BitShares Allocation

I'm assuming its to late to acquire AGS? :(
You can donate for AGS, but that will only count for future DACs, not for Bitshares XT, that just had the snapshot at the end of February.

BitShares PTS / Re: BitShares-PTS 1.0 Release (2.18.2014)
« on: March 02, 2014, 06:04:56 am »
There was a snapshot on the 28th. Keep that wallet, when bts arrives you will use it to claim bts.

so, this client is useless until bitshares-PTS is released I gather and we should not/cannot transfer PTS to this client?
This client is current and works great for sending and receiving Bitshares PTS (formerly known as Protoshares). It's the Bitshares XT client we're waiting for at this point.

In my defense, I was just a child when the movie came out haha
Well then I would say it's awesome that you're involved with cryptocurrency at your current age. 8)

BitShares PTS / Re: [ANN] ypool.net - Fast PTS pool
« on: February 25, 2014, 03:18:25 am »
With the 28th fast approaching, will ypool do a payout if less than a share is earned? I know the schedule is normal only when a full share is earned, but it would be nice this was done once before the 28th.

YPool responded to one of my tickets about this stating we will have to contact them after the snapshot with our BTS address for them to send us our cut...  I don't know why it would be so hard to just payout any balances on or before the 28th?  Perhaps they are betting people will forgot and not contact them?!

Yes, you would think that by changing the option in their system to allow a smaller payout threshold (I.E. less than 1.0)  would be less of a headache and customer service requests for them. If greed is their choice, and hoping people won't request it so they can cash in on the unclaimed BTS, what harm does it do to change the threshold? The people that forgot is their problem. The few that are current on the situation would be getting what they are due. It's only our PTS they are holding anyway, they already took their cut. WTF?

I read through it all, and I love it. So very exciting to be involved with this project, company, and mindset. It's going to be big!
Sorry, I had too... It's the feeling I get after reading threads like this.

Yes, can you please reduce the minimum pay out threshold so we can get our PTS out? Thank you.

Is this the wallet I send my protoshares from the exchange to have them claimed for new bitshares allocation on the 28th?
This one will work, or if you have the older Protoshares branded one, you're still safe. If you do have the older one, you may want to install this latest release and copy over your wallet.dat file.
