General Discussion / Re: No MineBitShares Payouts for 4 weeks
« on: November 29, 2015, 08:04:44 pm »
@datasecuritynode

Miners including myself having been continuing to mine in good faith for nearly a month now without any payments.

I understand development takes time, but you had set an expectation that the cutover would only take a couple of days, and many other bitshares projects has migrated to 2.0 rather quickly.

As it's not clear when you'll have the new pool and payouts working again, can you to run a manual payout in the next couple of days. There are only about 15 active miners, so a manual payout shouldn't be too hard to facilitate.

Can you also advise how much BTC/BitUSD you have on hand for payments?

cheers,

nethyb.

I was actually considering do this last week after promises of being completed went unfulfilled again. It was only in the last week that I have seen real progress being made so I decided to wait on that just a little longer.

I am just as anxious to see it get done and have been frustrated to say the least.

If I don't see at least the MVP to move over to the new payout system at least by Thursday I will be doing a manual payout and then.

I will have to check again later today on the balance.

Hi @datasecuritynode  - can you arrange for the manual payout ASAP - i don't see any reason we need to wait until the the new pool is ready,

thanks.

I concur, this has gone on far too long. You should square up before switching over and start with a clean slate on the new pool.

What is the status of payouts? It's been like 2 weeks now. ??? Starting to get very nervous.

Sorry for the delay in responding.. I been trying to nail down a clear time frame as well since all the previous ones I have been given even with consideration of bug have not been met. I am expecting a few more days of tests and fixes before we see the relaunch. I originally gave timelines based on what the developers had told me a few weeks ago. It seems it was not accurate.

The old pool however is still going with shares still being accumulated so we can do one big payout once we launch.
Thanks for the update.

Is it safe to continue to mine during this 2.0 transition?
Thanks.

Yes.. balances are just being held up while we get everything in place.

We didn't anticipate losing days attempting to export and import wallets.

Right now payouts just are not processing.. but all shares are being accumulated and will payout accordingly when we get the upgrade done.

Awesome, thank you. Great job BTW. Pool has been super stable.

You got all my votes. I've been mining with you for over a month now, it's been very smooth and great up time. Keep up the great work.

General Discussion / Re: bitUSD Mining is now live!
« on: May 06, 2015, 03:19:07 pm »
To address this issue we have changed the mining port from 4444 to 4447.

All miners who were using 4444 need to update to 4447 instead for the same difficulty level mining.

We have tested everything and it should work fine.

Let me know if you have any further issues with this.

It's working for me now on 4447.
Thanks.

Hi, was wondering if someone that runs the pool could look into this or provide some guidance. I was mining scrypt fine at stratum+tcp://usd.minebitshares.com:4444 for about a month and then over the weekend I could not connect anymore, specifically after Saturday the 2nd. I noticed on twitter that you moved data centers. Maybe there is an issue with a firewall or something? I was reviewing the settings again and saw in the guide that there are other ports for high diff, so I ran a test on 4445 and I can connect, switch back to 4444 and it immediately fails over to my backup pool on starting. Thanks for looking into it.

What do we do with TESTNOTES? As in, are they good for anything or just for testing?
worthless test tokens .. though some are buying in the TESTNOTE.3/BTS market ..
Thanks, sounds like a plan, I will test the market. 8)

General Discussion / Re: BitShares 0.8.0 Feedback
« on: March 24, 2015, 12:28:23 am »
I upgraded to 0.8.0 from 0.7.0 on OSX. Says "Blocks are synced" and I moved some small amounts of BTS around between my test wallet. So far so good. I really need to learn more about the Exchange and get involved.

This also occurs in windows.

Once the client has a problem and loses connection, it never connects again.

The last 3 clients I have tried have done this.  Reinstalling and waiting 4-5 hours to reload the chain every time there is a problem is not acceptable.

This bug is causing long-time supporters to stop trying to use bitshares.

Yeah, I can see this being a detractor for mass adoption as you really need to go under the hood to fix it, most people won't, they will just walk away. But then again we are on 0.7 so there is that. Hopefully they will squash that bug soon before a 1.0 product.

I am going to make it a habit of exiting BitShares before I close the lid on my MacBookPro. Maybe that has something to do with it, something gets corrupted.

Thanks for the hint. I was able to find the folder here: (OSX)
Code: [Select]
~/Library/Application Support/BitSharesI made a backup. File > Export Wallet
I then renamed the BitShares folder to BitShares.old
Launched BitShares app, it started like it was a fresh install. (Did not setup)
Then did a restore. File > Import Wallet
It then resynced the entire blockchain. Everything appeared to be in working order, but after it was done it did freeze up and I had to Force Quit Bitshares. Relaunched and it seems to be fine now. 8) Went back and removed the .old dir.

Funny thing, in the process of finding the BitShares folder I found an old Bitcoin dir in that Application Support folder and removed it freeing up 26GB of much needed space on my MacBookPro. Now I'm not sure which I'm more happy about, Bitshares syncing, or 26GB free on my SSD! :P
