:o Hi everyone

I can not make this right, been trying to set up cloud mining with digital ocean but am not succeding....here is the code i am using:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install yasm -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix
git clone https://github.com/jh000/jhProtominer.git
cd ~/jhprotominer/src
make -f makefile.unix
./jhprotominer -o ypool.net:8081 -u marimaxxxx.pts_1 -p 12345

Please help, :o...where am i wrong?  :'(

I would read though this wiki: (But the example is old, you may want to try the new M7i version)
http://ypool-mining.wikia.com/wiki/Ypool_Mining_Wiki

The link to the best miners that I have found is yvg1900's dropbox, here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jvp4wwek8jpohj7/RlW6hzYqTz

That is all the various compiled versions, the one you would want is the nehalem version.

So from your droplet on DigitalOcean, do this:
wget https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jvp4wwek8jpohj7/fOnW5_SA49/yam-yvg1900-M7i-linux64-nehalem.tgz

then untar it, copy the yam and yam.cfg files to your home directory. Make sure yam is marked execute. (chmod a+x yam)
modify the yam.cfg file with your account.worker info. Comment out the 2nd pool if you don't have one.

start it with ./yam --config yam.cfg

With a 2GB/2 CPU, the one for $20 a month, I'm only able to get around 33-40 CPM, sometimes 70 CPM, so it's not really worth it. I think they either throttle or the server gets loaded.
Even at the best CPM of 70 that is only 0.0445 PTS a day at the current difficulity. So that would barely cover the monthly cost.
CPM Calc here: http://mrx.im/pts.php

But it's always fun to play and learn. Good luck.  8)

which yam version should i use?
i have an amd fx 8350
I am using the M7i-bdver1 and seeing ~250 CPM with 512M. My system only has 8GB ram, I'd like to put more but the CPU cooler is blocking 2 DIMM slots.  >:(

If I should be using a different version, please speak up. Thanks.

Is there any term prohibiting  Invictus to invest in AGS with PTS mined by itself?

We apply the same rules to ourselves that we apply to everyone else.   Equal opportunity for all.    The only rule we have is that funds sent to an Angel address cannot be sent back to the Angel address (by us) and must be documented in our public spread sheet showing how the funds are spent.   In other words, our opportunity to profit from this project is EQUAL to everyone else's opportunity to profit and our sources of profit are the same as everyone else's.

All PTS that is sent to the Angel fund is spent into circulation.  If we send our mined/purchased PTS to the Angel address you will be able to see how we spend it and once we do so we will be unable to 'dump and run' without building BitShares and other DACs.  This is a very good thing for the community because we are reinvesting our 'profits in PTS' back into building the ecosystem rather than holding the PTS.

The major reason we can offer the bounties prior to fully funding AGS is because we know we will be investing 95% of our own PTS into the fund over time.

Invictus has "insider" information of when BitShares will be released and how it is going on, it puts the compnay in a much better position than outside investors.

Can you make Invictus AGS investment transparent by using a fixed Bitcoin/ProtoShares address?

Actually we don't have much insider information, 100% of code will be public and we will have a lot of public testing / reports.  Our current strategy is to invest evenly over the first 2-3 months.   However, we would like to maintain some privacy over our addresses for obvious reasons.   I think anyone can look at the code, the progress, the bug reports, and make an independent assessment of our delivery date because I know i am horrible at estimating these things.

Just to confirm one "day" start/end is in GMT?

Sent to addres "PaNGELmZgzRQCKeEKM6ifgTqNkC4ceiAWw" txid "4e85e0de597de2ea25bdd6d80052c2e8b5edd22988934179685a30a9ea539380".  Is a sucker born every minute?

Is this your donation , are you the sucker?

I don't know, am I?  I guess I don't really know what I'm supposed to do.  I thought PTS was actually a "share" in something greater, but I don't now what I'm supposed to do to qualify.  I thought sending PTS to that address was the thing to do.  Am I wrong?
I think you're good. Just make sure you keep your wallet that you sent from, that's really important.

New M7i version of PTS miner is available and named yam - Yet Another Miner. Works with ypool.net and other pools that support XPT proto.

yam M7i is complete rewrite of yvg1900 miner and has new cmd line and config options. Check readme.txt and yam.cfg for details.
It is faster on all supported platforms, including Win64, Linux64 and MacOS X 64.
PTS miner re-engineered for better support of different CPUs and now supports large pages on Windows. Check docs for more details.

yam M7i supports config files, backup pool connections, proxy and multiple connection handling improvements that reduce share rejections.
PTS miner now has better fine tuning, more precise stats and supports specifying per-thread memory size as configurable parameter.

yvg1900

Readme is SUPER confusing...or maybe it's my lack of sleep.

Can you post a sample config with the finetuning flag enabled?
The yam.cfg included in the tar/zip has a sample config already. Edit it to add your account.miner, # out the extra pool if you only have one.

Couldn't get it to work like that but I eventually figured out how to create a batch.

Running: ./yam -M xpt2h://ivanfernandez.ivanlabriepts:x@mining.ypool.net:10034:8080:8081:8082:8083:8084:8085:8086:8087/pts -t 4 -P pts:av=0&m=512

That should work, right? It's finetuning, apparently but it takes forever to change AV values. Still stuck at 1, donation in progress...
I'm using screen to detach the session and resume it whenever I want (vps).

You think it should take so long? (more than 40 minutes)
It's an 800mhz i7 4770 without HT, basically, and 4gb of ram.
If you edit the included yam.cfg config file, you can start it with ./yam --config yam.cfg
But you have a script going so that's good to, whatever works.
Yes, it will take a long time to finetune, but when it's done, note the AV=<value> so that you can add that to your script. (replace av=0)

Sorry if this is not in the correct thread, I did look around a bit prior. I can't seem to find an answer to this question with all these other AGS, BTS, etc being announced.

Will mining PTS still be necessary after December 31st, 2013 23:59 GMT? If yes, what will they be good for? AGS? BTS?

I'm just a little confused and don't want to miss out on an opportunity. Thanks.

PTS requires mining and its social contract is unmodified.  Mined PTS is still valid for a stake in all future DACs.
Ok thank you. Also, can you clarify any deadlines for December 31st, 2013 23:59 GMT? I could swear I read something about something getting converted at that point.

so after untar must   only write ./jhprotominer -o mining.ypool.net -u <LOGINNAME.WORKERNAME> -p <PASSWORD> [-t <THREADS>] {-F #] ???
That should do it, obviously with your loginname.worker and password that you created on the ypool.net site.
More help can be found via the live chat on ypool.net, lots of people in there to ask questions and learn things in real time.

after untar file I write  "./jhprotominer -o mining.ypool.net -u <LOGINNAME.WORKERNAME> -p <PASSWORD> [-t <THREADS>] {-F #]"
And what is it? what i will do? http://clip2net.com/s/6ufE5P
You could copy the specific compiled version to the home dir or just cd into the directory of the version you want to run.
Code: [Select]
cd /jhprotominer-yvg1900-M7h-linux64-generic/linux64-generic-512M
You'll most likely have to adjust the permissions to make the file executable.
Code: [Select]
chmod a+x jhprotominer
Then run it - Just start without any other variables, it should try to use the max cores.
Code: [Select]
./jhprotominer -o mining.ypool.net -u grigower.PTS_1 -p 130484q

I try to write codes that you give but http://clip2net.com/s/6uieIV i don;t know what is this and why?
Sorry you are having issues. You'll need to find the jhprotominer file you extracted from the tar file, you will have to use basic linux skills to navigate the file structure, commands like ls, cd, cd.., etc. (http://www.my-guides.net/en/guides/linux/basic-linux-commands)
The goal is to find the jhprotominer file you need to run then make sure the file is marked as executable. The final step is running it. All the examples I gave are valid, but might not work in your environment unless you are in the correct directory.

sorry for may be fool question but  if it was line:
"git clone https://github.com/Tydus/jhProtominer -b linux-port"

need changed on:
"git clone https://mega.co.nz/#F!h0tkXSxZ!f62uoUXogkxQmP2xO8Ib-g/jhprotominer-yvg1900-M7h-linux64-bobcatv.tgz"

?????
You don't need to use git, it's already compiled. For the linux flavors his (yvg1900) Dropbox seems easier to download from then Mega. Try:
wget https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jvp4wwek8jpohj7/mhwYFeUmgx/jhprotominer-yvg1900-M7h-linux64-generic.tgz

Again for reference: http://ypool-mining.wikia.com/wiki/Ypool_Mining_Wiki
Look under the section: Miner created and maintained by yvg1900

ok and how unpack after save on server ?

tar jhprotominer-*.tgz ? such command?
Sure, for future reference you can type "man tar" and it will give you the instructions on how to tar/untar.
This should work: "tar xsfv jhprotominer-*.tgz"

made this ok...
and what about that?http://clip2net.com/s/6ubWB2
and what i must write after that for correct working
THANX
No, it's already compiled for you.
Go here: http://ypool-mining.wikia.com/wiki/Ypool_Mining_Wiki
Read at section "- Launch worker" and go from there.
