Technical Support / no balance shown in bitshares 2.0 wallet?
« on: September 28, 2016, 08:03:23 am »
Hi,

Today I upgraded my wallet to 2.0. After successful importing of my old wallet, I could not find the balance shown in the new BTS 2.0 UI. Where I can view my remaining balance?

Technical Support / how to use customized data directory in Windows client
« on: September 28, 2016, 03:52:16 am »
Is it possible to customize the data directory by specifying "--data-dir"? The C drive is too limited in space... I tried configurations like "-data" "--data-dir" etc, but no luck...

Maybe this can help...

my password and backup file are correct ,but it say Invalid password
someone help

If your backup file from version <= 0.4.x, first you should install 0.4.27.2, import backup to the wallet and when uninstall 0.4.27.2 and install 0.9.3c.
0.4.27.2 you can find here: https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares/releases/tag/bts%2F0.4.27.2
0.9.3c here: https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares/releases

Thank you so much! It solved my problem!

Technical Support / unable to import my old bts wallet backup
« on: September 22, 2016, 11:03:12 am »
Hi,

I contribute to angel shares using PTS and BTC before BTS was launched. When BTS was available, I downloaded the client and verified my funds were there. Then I made a backup of the wallet, and I have not used the BTS client until today. Now I want to import my previous wallet back to BTS 2.0, and I found that I could not make it. I tried to import the backup in BTS 0.x, but I tried from version 0.4.8 until 0.9.3, all I got was "incorrect password" message. I am sure that I do have the password, and I thought this problem was caused by version compatibility issue. I tried 0.2.x on Windows 10, but it gave an error when starting. Now I have no way to import my old wallet, and I would like to seek for your kind help!

Thanks!

these three numbers appears on top of the wallet software without explanation, it is really confusing. I suggest add an explanation text (e.g. by mouse hovering) next to these numbers.

BitShares PTS / Re: PTS wallet not sync
« on: February 27, 2014, 01:40:11 am »
I experienced the same symptom before. A quick and easy workaround: quit the qt program and restart it again. Then it says there is a X hours of out sync, and tries to sync again. I guess it is a problem bug due to small amount of nodes.

previously I had the same problem. after a while the qt wallet stopped syncing unless a restart is performed. I remember 0.8.5 litecoin wallet has a bug which stops online activities, and I am not sure if pts wallet has the same bug (but the problem looks exactly the same).

but for the bug that I report in this post, the problem is different: even I restart, the wallet cannot sync and it shows no node connected. Recently the problem is solved. It seems that this time the problem is not on client side, but on node side.

No idea - wait a while longer.
If nothing happens I'll set up a private node on a few servers and you can add them in personally so things get back to normal.
Pm me if the issue lasts for long

The problem persists at my side. It will be great to have a new node established! Thank you so much!

BitShares PTS / PTS wallet not sync

Hi. About 20 hours ago, my PTS wallet cannot get synced over the network. Before that, everything works fine. Anyone has the same problem? Is there any changes on the network nodes?

BitShares AGS / Re: Donate to AGS after Feb 28???
« on: February 22, 2014, 01:47:29 am »
AGS is in exactly the same boat as PTS. If you own AGS on Feb 28, you get a share of BTS. If you buy AGS after Feb 28, you won't get BTS for it, but you will still get a share of all future DACs. Thus, it's likely that AGS (and PTS) will be cheaper after Feb 28 than it is now, because right now it has the value of BTS built into it. There's no way to predict how much cheaper it will be.

Of course you'll still be able to donate to AGS after Feb 28, because BTS isn't the only DAC that Invictus plans to launch.

The question of "better" is impossible to answer right now because we don't know the market prices of PTS or AGS post-Feb 28.

I thought AGS cannot be bought or transferred, right? I do not quite understand how eventually AGS can be used/redeemed.

BitShares AGS / Donate to AGS after Feb 28???
« on: February 21, 2014, 03:42:28 pm »
Hi. Just raise this issue for discussion:

PTS is said to finalize the snapshot of exchanging BTS on Feb 28. At the same time, AGS, which will eventually converted to BTS, is still accepting PTS donations (200 days since Jan 1). So my question is: after Feb 28, is it still better to donate to AGS than keeping PTS?

Hi Daniel. When does the next testing phase start?  Feb 28?

Is the latest BTS compatible with previous bts wallet? I compiled the latest code and import my previous bts wallet, but got this error when launching:

Out of Range(out_of_range)
read datastream of length 65 over by 18446744073709551613
error reading last item from database
error loading blockchain database datadir/chain

The code does not lie.  I have tweaked the blockchain structure so the items in the database are not compatible.

Does this mean that my testing bts and usd are gone? If so, can I get new testing bts and usd in the next testing period?
Of course we will give fresh BTS for the new tests.

The next test chain will have margin call support and mining with Trx as Proof of Stake... I am working on the margin call code now.

Great! I will wait for the new updates :)
