I'm tired of seeing all the squealing and moaning about percentage this and percentage that, and the petty infighting of people who complain they didn't get enough of the pie, arguing that they should get more of some other guys piece.

Look at the bigger picture. Look at what we are making.

A couple of years from now, you will have wealth that is completely unfathomable to you now. It will not make any difference if your current stake is cut in half, or cut into tenths - you will have more money than you could ever possibly spend.

You act like being an early adopter is a privilege, that you deserve everything you can get your hands on. Let me tell you it is not. It is a gift, maybe the greatest gift anyone has ever received - and it is time that you take on the responsibility that goes along with it.

The last thing BM and the team need to worry about right now are people moaning on the forums. There are space ships to build, and until they're built and safely in interstellar space there is no time to spend on ANYTHING else.

You got in at the ground. Now help build the ground floor. And then the top floor. And then the biggest freaking crypto-rocket the world has ever seen.

If you want to take on your responsibility as a stakeholder, then go read the thread about transparency measures (https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=10301.0) and help envision how YOU, as a stakeholder, can help govern this ship.
Wise words! I am here since december 2013. Every change is discussed who will gain more, that BM and 3I promised and now....  Remember start of AGS etc. I care about each BTS,PTS,AGS in my wallet, but my only real concern is development of Bitshares.  Without first class team it will be soon worthless.

General Discussion / Re: Clarification on Vesting
« on: October 22, 2014, 04:27:21 pm »
Please confirm that this vesting period only applies to the 500mill or whatever the final number created.

The btsx I hold now when transferred to bts I will have the option to sell whenever I prefer.

The ags I donated to pre 2/28 will be slowly released during the vesting period you stated.

All BTSX will remain liquid... no migrating... just an upgrade to your wallet. All BitUSD / BitBTC/BitGLD unaffected.
Thanks for clarification.

General Discussion / Re: Should we continue to funding mining of PTS?

I think the final snapshot is a good idea. Unprofitable abandoned mining could be a dangerous problem and may arise quickly. Or not? What do you think?

Big news, this clearly is related to the jump in BTC price.  I doubt it's enough to stimulate a trend reversal.  It could 'buy some time' for the bitcoin price while other developments and hurdles are moved forward with such as the NYDFS bitlisence.  It could easily be back at $400 in a few hours or days, but ya never know.
430 Bitstamp now and max was 450 + big volume

Hi,   My wallet is still not syncing.
i downloaded latest  4.5 wallet.   also downloaded the crash dll file suggested, but do not know where to place it since I am not on a windows or PC os.

FYI:  using a  MAC   OSX version 10.9  operating system.
The startup hard drive was full so I made room.  could that have been the cause of the problem?

Thanks for your help.  would really like to get my Btsx in my wallet soon.  :)

Upgrade is needed for newer release

General Discussion / Re: OMG - Ripple can fall down today!

I would never discover PTS if the price on coinmarketcap in dec 2013 was not so weirdly high if compared with the endless crowd of altcoin.
I think the high position on coinmarketcap itself draw attention.

It is a logical decision.  I have thought than the idea will come and it is now here. Hopefully it will multiple the funds.

BTSX description from detractor, NXT/Bitcoin supporters etc.

Unlike other digital currencies or DAC's that have either no inflation like NXT or defined limited inflation like Bitcoin. BTSX has the ability to print new money when required just like the Federal Reserve & the other central banks we all know and love! But unlike central banks which only create a little bit of inflation, BTSX can create a lot all at once! So in a 50% flash crash for example, where you've already lost 50% of the value of your BTSX, we could devalue you by up to a further 25%! Won't that be a fun few hours to remember! But don't worry about the smart money & professional traders because a minority can hedge themselves and the rest will just sell very early on in a crash leaving the regular guys like you holding the bag when there's a problem. It's just like a real economy! Welcome to BTSX - The future of money!

I could see this being posted against nearly every positive sentiment for Bitshares on other forums, very bad for PR reasons along with the ideology.
On second thought BitUSD must be stable to be widely used for payment by customers, shops etc. Today payment in BTC is exchanged into USD by shops. BitUSD could be cheaper, hopefully and probably many user will not care about BTSX if  1their BitUSD = always 1USD.

Forex is a bigger market. Focus on replacing Forex.
Forex is for sure lucrative market. Forex traders count every pip in EUR/USD on some platforms even 1/2 pip.
If I am not badly wrong, the stability of BitUSD/USD is a key factor.
