It's functional if you build from source (at least on windows, haven't tested on Mac). I built it yesterday, but the build instructions also need some updating for the integration work that's being done with the bitshares_toolkit, so this could be related to the problem you experienced.

I'll update the build info shortly with the details.

Could you also publish updated binaries for those unable/unwilling to build from source?

We were planning to do that at the beginning of next week after we finished the integration work with bitshares_toolkit executable, but the installer needs to be updated for things like adding the bitshares_client.exe and its dependencies, etc. Right now bytemaster wants the polish dev group to start working on the bitshares_toolkit code itself as soon as possible, so that will probably be delayed a bit.

most devs currently focus on finalizing bitshares_toolkit

afaik once that one is polished they will focus on keyhotee again

hm also on windows it does not work! I gett a message that MSVCP110.dll is missing, followed online tips to install Visual C++ redistributable packages, registry check etc to no result..

At start after I enter profile data, brain wallet and passphrase, then "finish", the software crashes. new start, it gives me the profile name I provided but the passphrase does not work.

Also, I just found out about registering founder ID and keyhotee software, I was waiting for an email after I registered last year and now I see the link with registration info was hidden in the only newsletter I got back on January 4th. I think this wasn't good communication and maybe there are other founders who did not register yet since no other update was sent via email. I get hundreds of newsletters so I didn't read that one! (I'm just a little pissed you can say because I was wondering about it but thought I'll get an update. initially I was so amazed and excited about this concept even in it's early stage when I heard about it on let's talk bitcoin, and now you just blew my mind! so I hope I can still register my ID , and great job otherwise and good luck !! )

I haven't been reported details on the development of the GUI side because I'm not personally managing the details of it at the moment (I'm working on the backend side). Vogel67 on github is doing the day-to-day management on the GUI side for now. I'll make another posting when we hit the next major milestone (integration with the new backend).

Did this thread move? Seems like a while since the last update.

It didn't move exactly, but a lot of the work being done on Keyhotee right now (including work I'm directly working on) is on the backend side: peer-to-peer code, web wallets, json-rpc interface, blockchain, etc, and the status for this work is being updated in the btishares xt status update thread rather than here.

On the Keyhotee GUI side, the main changes have been and/or in progress are addition of a webkit widget-based web browser (to support displaying our web wallets inside Keyhotee), work to integrate the bitshares_toolkit code into the Keyhotee code base, code to establish friend-based peer networks, and miscellaneous bug fixes. After that the other major planned change is to modify the way we send messages to multiple recipients for better network efficiency.
