Cob, thank you for explaining the situation. I am very happy with the solution to the issues you've discovered and the challenges you've faced. It sounds like you've all been on quite a roller-coaster. So May! Incredible!

I think it is exceedingly important to keep everyone updated regularly regarding the transition from centralised to decentralised. I'm not interested in a successful new centralised and potentially corruptible media revolution....despite how fun it will be seeing artists and fans begin using the incredible applications you've been building.

Good luck. So impressed you've stayed the course through everything.

General Discussion / Re: [Poll] REAL GOLD BLOCKCHAIN?

This would be brilliant bunker. How could you ever prove reserves though? The trend over time would be towards fractional reserves / corruption.

Perhaps that is a reason why crypto could be considered superior to gold? During the transition, bitgold and bitsilver could play a huge role in bringing everyone in.

Well done bitcrab!  Fantastic news.  Don't forget to co-ordinate with openledger wherever possible......the greater alignment our community has in it's efforts the better!

Well met Brock and Chris! Really good luck with the project. I'm sure you'll find an enormous amount of support around here. Having said that, you've already found Ronny and his team....you might not need any more help! ;) Anyway, welcome!

Ronny, you guys at CCEDK and Openledger are constantly bring amazing news! It's difficult to keep up! Seems you are constantly moving things forward at the bleeding edge. Just brilliant. Well done and thank you for you hard work and dedication. Africa is one place on this earth in desperate need of zero corruption and services with integrity that will help them.

thanks Ben, just to show you how I appreciate it, I will let you have access to a Forbes article out today on same project :)

Thanks so much Ronny! I find it difficult to describe how much I enjoyed the article. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I kid you not, it brought a tear to my eye. It's efforts like this that can give hope to millions of people. This right here is what it's all about. It is awe inspiring. This project is a light in the dark for the African people who have so much potential.

I don't like private profits being made from something that should be a core feature of bitshares.

I understand and appreciate that @onceuponatime has taken on risk and reduced sell pressure on BTS get Stealth asset implemented but I think this feature would be better as just a standard feature .

I'd like to see @onceuponatime  to sell this feature to bitshares and delete the Stealth asset.

He could sell it for whatever he paid +25% to cover costs and make a profit. This could be done as a worker proposal.

I've never thought Fee Backed Assets for core bitshares functions made any sense whatsoever.

 +5% +5%

I would support this move as well.  The easiest way to do so is to create a worker, get it voted in, and refund once upon a time his money.  That would require about 7.5 million BTS.  Maximum dilution for about 3 weeks should do the trick if my math is right.

Who thinks we can get that approved by shareholders?

Have you asked onceuponatime ?

Bytemaster and I have discussed the situation. There are some issues that I am still mulling over in my mind. For instance I had promised a distribution of 20,000 STEALTH each to the 5 accounts that agreed to share responsibility of the 3 of 5 signatory power over the Maintenance Account, and to act as an advisory board. I intend to keep my word on that matter by making that distribution.
Absolutely. Compromise for the community/network is great onceuponatime, but you must make sure you feel no pressure. You took a significant risk for us.

BM, you seem to attract criticism and flak whatever you do and whatever you attempt.  I think that's ok because we all deserve citisism from time to time.  I admit that I don't understand Steem at all yet. But your endorsement of it and your assertion that it is a positive step towards MAS means a great deal to me. I don't mine, but I'll do what I can to support this experiment when I can because I really do trust you, your family, and your development team. Your vision has captivated me from the very beginning. Good intentions matter. Making the attempt matters. The vision really matters. If we continue to set our sights on the stars, there's every chance we'll reach the 'm00n.'  ;)

Jeepers!  Well done DEVS for getting this far with the stealth functionality!  It's really ok if there's a bit more work (assuming Onceuponatime is happy.)  Thank you for putting additional work in because it was actually more difficult or time-consuming than originally planned for.  Onceuponatime, thank you so much for putting up your capital to make sure this happened.  I for one appreciate any reasonable attempts to add functionality to BitShares......i hope you are amply rewarded for the risks you took!!

I'm in now too Solomon.  Very exciting!  I get a 'sense' that you have really taken on board lessons we've all learned  ;D

This is where it gets interesting.  So the flood of new versions/configurations of Graphene based blockchains are on their way. Without a significant sharedrop on the original community, they will attempt to become capital harvesting machines as they compete for market share and attention......exactly like the rest of cryptopia. Unless one has an endless supply of capital with which to hedge or you are exceptionally good at picking out potential or are a talented trader, the chances of reaching the end of the feeding frenzy with your originally invested capital looks more and more remote.  It may not be that important to secure the original BitShares community until it is larger and reaches a wider demographic. Unity of vision and purpose becomes ever more valuable in retaining market share it would seem. Buckle up!

80% premine mmmm.  I wonder what value Steemit will place on the BitShares holders?  I certainly don't feel entitled to anything, but it will be interesting to see how the 40% is spent.
