« on: August 12, 2014, 03:06:47 pm »
Can someone please remind me the benefits. I know there are a lot but I have forgot most of them by now...

I am pretty sure new investors will also want to find out.

Let's keep it simple...

General Discussion / bitstamp
« on: August 06, 2014, 06:20:29 pm »
Has anyone noticed that bitstamp is using another bank? they used to work with a respective bank and now they use a bank that i have never heard before...I do not want to create any FUD and I haven't used it to judge .

Has anyone used to withdraw recently from bitstamp?

If  a 2nd gox is coming, and bitcoin drops to $100 will bitshares X go to the moon or it will also follow the shadow of bitcoin?

which other would you recommend as i don't think bitstamp will be safe for long?

General Discussion / I will change my forum name
« on: August 06, 2014, 02:17:02 pm »
This is just to let people know that I will change my forum name to my kehotee ID "mf-tzo".

"zeus" was squatted on bitshres X and is used in some other forums by other people not myself.

People in here should forget completely the name "zeus".

General Discussion / insurance - lending- index
« on: July 26, 2014, 06:48:19 am »
Supose I want to become a musician, or an artist, or buy a home, a car etc but I want to protect my self from unemployment, income insecurity, falling prices etc..

could it be possible that I get a p2p loan, or a loan via bitshares x bank in order to follow my dreams and the repayment of the loan is tracked based on the relevant indexes that measure artists and musicians income, car and home prices? If the income of the artists index, the prices index etc perform well I will have to repay the full loan with the agreed interest and terms. If indexes do not perform well, my loan will be reduced.

this way I am insured from bad situations and I can follow my dreams. Others are betting on bull scenarios and are willing to lend. Would this be a dac? Is this possible? Thoughts?

General Discussion / Questions
« on: July 20, 2014, 11:17:07 pm »
I was away for 3 days and came back and the forum exploded with news... A couple of questions since I have probably lost track now:

1. The Gui for windows is the one on DACsunlimited? I understand that this has some bugs so is it safe to import private keys or maybe wait for a newer release just to be on safe side?

2. Whenever there is a newer version, can we have it on top of the forum for download please?

3. With the currect BTSX wallet (from Dacs unlimeted) is there an option to import the whole Dat file?

4. Register on blockchain. I think I read something about that. What is this about? Do I need to do something?

5. Kehotee founder ID. Should I register my ID somewhere on BitsharesX wallet once downloaded?

6. AGS awarded to Kehotee founders. Has this been shorted? Can I claim bitshares X using my awarded AGS as Kehotee founder?

7. I undestand that there is no bitusd yet so there is no trading yet. Correct? Can someone withdraw their BTSX and send them to BTER and trade them there?

8. I think I have many other questions about delegates but will not touch that now...

 +5% +5% +5% for the launch!!!

Thank you very much in advance!!!

General Discussion / Help with a presentaion
« on: June 15, 2014, 06:50:26 pm »
Hi,

I am looking for some graphs but i don't remember where they are located on the forum. Can someone please re direct me?

1. The "tree" graph that shows Bitshares PTS and the DACs that you get shares from PTS (Music, DNS, LOTTO etc)

2. The snaphot graph like bars that shows PTS/AGS give you shares to DACs and then that Bitshares X will give you shares to Bitshares XT XV etc..

3. Any other graphs for example PTS historical price in USD

4. Any other graphs that you think will be nice to have in a presentation

5. Any powerful phrases that should be mentioned. Like re imagine everything, or Bitshares does for business what bitcoin does for money etc..

Thanks

General Discussion / Market Report
« on: May 30, 2014, 09:08:14 am »
Back in November - December I think Bytemaster said "NXT looks promising". That statement was enough for me. I looked at it and bought some thousands at ridiculous prices. Unfortunately NXT was very buggy back then, I wasn't feeling comfortably leaving them in an exchange so soon after I tripled my ridiculously small investment back then I sold them (I wish now I haven't  :( :(

To the point. NXT since then has done a tremendous progress for the non tech guys like me and what I really like about them is that they have almost daily a market update report. They talk about prices of alts, NXT price speculation, graphs etc...

Can we do something similar here? It would be nice if some experienced crypto investors illuminate the rest of us about what they think, how they value especially PTS/AGS, future DACs but also other altcoins that pop out all the time. Apparently this community has a lot of "geniuses" and it would be very nice to hear their thoughts about the market on a regular basis.

Thoughts?

General Discussion / Marketing actions from the community
« on: May 25, 2014, 04:49:52 pm »
A couple of suggestions:

1) We should all change our profile pictures in FB and tweeter with a nice bitshares logo

Bitshares Logo ideas:

a)  "The revolution has started"
     Bitshares Logo
     "visit bitshares.org"

b) "Decentralise everything"
     Bitshares Logo
     "visit bitshares.org"

c)  "Re imagine everything"
     Bitshares Logo
     "visit bitshares.org"

d) "Buy your bitshares now and retire sooner"
Bitshares Logo (with the background of an amazing beach) Liondani can you please make something like this? Put i.e Elafonissos beach
     "visit bitshares.org"

Please post here some logos I can then easily transform to jpeg format.

2) All future DACs should be aware how this community appreciates when they honor AGS. Since Freetrade has decided to honor AGS, I would suggest that in FB and Tweeter we let our friends and followers know about it. Let's all advertise his DAC! In your status in these forums or any other forum you use just update a couple of times your status with something like "Lottoshares honor now AGS/PTS shareholders"

3) We need to approach new investors outside crypto.
Whenever you go meet with VCs or do an interview wear a shirt and a tie! We like to invest in the most "clever geek, nerd" so we might not care about ties and dressing code. Investors with serious money outside crypto want to see the guy who tries to convince them about their product to wear a tie! I am in the banking and finance industry for more than 12 years and I can assure you that these Fu...rs do pay a lot of attention to the tie and the costumes!!

4) Within July, if all goes well, I will most probably introduce Bitcoin as a method of payment in a very popular well known Hotel, a bar restaurant (both located in the center of Athens fully booked by tourists all year around) and in a shop located in the most known shopping mall in Athens.  I would like to put a bitshares logo as well on their site. But they might not want to. But also they might change their mind if we could send them some free PTS for marketing purpose...
The point is, when someone is willing to put Bithsares logo on their site and keep it for at least a year, an idea would be that the community or I3 estimates depending on the shop the marketing benefit and offer some PTS to the owner and to the community member who did the introduction...

Any thoughts?

General Discussion / When fundamentals don't matter
« on: May 15, 2014, 02:33:08 pm »
Irrelevant but I thought to post it anyway since I believe that is the situation right now in stock markets... I believe that soon all these stock bubbles will appear, the stock market will fall worldwide and maybe some big  investors start to look at bitcoin and cryptos again... Bitshares should be ready and fully marketed when that day comes...

General Discussion / Forging power to open source DAC
« on: May 11, 2014, 06:53:14 pm »
Quote
Anybody that buys 90% of NXT (causing price to go up 100 fold) would not bother with trying to scam the other 10%. Why bother with that?

There is the theoretical possibility, but in practice only govt or large corp has the money to do this.
The cost could be virtually zero, if you could persuade enough other people to lease you their stakes. Leasing changes the economics.
It is highly doubtful the community will do this. As soon as one leasing pool gets to 10% or more, I would expect them to voluntarily turn away people or the community will actively switch to other pools.
There will be people on the lookout for this and sending out big bold red letter alerts if we get any pool too big

I mean theoretically, everybody could decide to just send all their NXT to the genesis block. That would also destroy NXT. What is possible theoretically is oftentimes not a very realistic scenarios

I remember there was that fancy looking "academic" paper with equations and everything that basically concluded that people will just sell their NXT for nothing because, not sure the reason, but that was the assumption. If everybody sold their NXT for lower and lower prices, then it wouldnt cost anything to buy the vast majority of it and destroy it. Totally contradicting the reality of any massive purchase. just a 1% purchase in the open market would double the price. a 10% purchase would probably boost it fivefold.

Financial attacks are not anything to worry about. We just need to make sure no pool goes above 10%, maybe 5% is a better limit so they match the largest founders.

ideally we will be able to lease forging power to open source DAC's someday.

The above is a quote from NXT forum. No idea what they are talking about but I saw the word "DAC" and thought to post it here just in case some smart people around here have any DAC ideas...
