Random Discussion / Blackhalo
« on: October 17, 2014, 08:27:33 pm »
Has anyone actually have any experience with blackcoin, blackhalo etc? I show a presentation which actually seemed very nice. I am not a tech guy so there may be flows...This could be, is a BTSX serious competitor?

Does anyone has an explanation as to why the market cap of blackcoin has dropped so significantly?

General Discussion / Ripple - Stellar
« on: October 13, 2014, 01:00:16 pm »
Just thought to post this in here just in case anyone still has XRPs or STRs. No idea about the technical sides of all this but it would be nice if can avoid something like this to happen in BTSX.

Not very important and probably you already know but just in case...

1) I get the message that I am not voting with all my balance, even if I transfer funds to my self, selecting delegates etc...

2) When I have an open order BTSX/BITUSD and then I flip the market to bitusd/btsx this open order appears funny...under the column btsx it shows the usd and under the usd field it shows the btsx. The end result is the same it is just the titles of the open order are messed up

KeyID / DNS questions
« on: October 07, 2014, 07:18:23 pm »
1. When do we estimate the auction and the biding for domain names will start?

2. Will that be through Key ID wallet?

3. Once I win on auction a domain name how could I use it to start the relevant website? I mean will there be a plugin tool on top of my explorer that will take me to another internet than the one we are used to? When is the estimation for this to happen?

4. Isn't current market cap for DNS at c10k BTC a bit low? Where are the buyers?

Sorry for the silly questions...especially n3 might be obvious but to me these things are just not obvious at all..Very excited for what is coming but difficult to fully imagine it without basic know how..

General Discussion / short BTSX???
« on: September 28, 2014, 01:12:15 pm »
Do I understand this correctly? Is there the intention to create bitXTS that will be used to take short position to BTSX using as collateral bitUSD, Bitbitc etc??

I understand thr intention of this is to create more stability and liquidity but I believe it could seriously backfire against the appreciation of BTSX.

Please advise if I misunderstood this, because this idea just scared me a lot!!!

General Discussion / a couple of marketing suggestions
« on: September 26, 2014, 03:05:50 pm »
1. The video of BM explaining BTSX and how shorting is done I think needs to be updated and give more details and analysis by explaining how bit usd is created, short selling, interest on bit assets etc in simpler ways. I always found it a good video but is quite confusing when you describe short selling.

2. The thing that hooked me in BTSX was a page (back in Nov- Dec) I think that was describing the BTSX. It was a black page with a dollar if I remember correctly. The point here is that there were some very nice inspiring articles which cannot be found easily. Maybe dig them out of the box, pick and choose the inspiring ones and re-circulate them...

Anyway..I know that there are much more important tasks on the line, so you can just ignore me..

General Discussion / Securely claim shares from AGS-PTS
« on: September 25, 2014, 09:09:17 am »
It appears that more and more 3rd party developers will start soon honor AGS - PTS.
What are the plans to create something that one can securely claim those shares? For example for some time now I wanted to try play LTS with my free shares but I haven't claimed any yet since I don't want to take the risk importing private keys to 3rd party wallets.

What is the time frame in the horizon to build something like that?
Also what is the time frame for secure offline wallets using something like trezor? Just plug the thing and save shares offline?

General Discussion / Short Bitsud basics
« on: September 24, 2014, 09:24:43 pm »
I should know by now but I want to make clear a couple of things:

1. What is the short wall mean that I see on BTSX?

2. Back to basics with an example (sorry for flipping the market):

a) I buy from an exchange 10,000 @ 0.03 = -$300
b) I short $300 @ $0.03 so at some point I will have to repay $300 to cover (10,000 BTSX is held as collateral)

question: How much the BTSX value has to fall to have a margin call and lose all my collateral?

c) Assuming that BTSX increases vs. usd so now 1 BTSX = $0.06.
I buy from an exchange 5,000 BTSX @ 0.06 = -$300 to cover my $300 debt and my 10,000 collateral is released and I decide to sell them. My p&l is therefore -$300 -$300 + 10,000 x $0.06 = 0

So the question is. If from the beginning I believe that BTSX will increase and will be $0.06, why short in the first place and risk my collateral and not wait until it goes to $0.06 and sell them. If I do that:

I buy 10,000 @ 0.03 = -$300
I sell 10,000 @ 0.06 = +$600
My p&l is +$300

So basically why short bitusd in the first place? In theory since I am short and the price falls I win by buying back the collateral at lower price and pocketing the difference so I am pretty sure I made a mistake in my analysis but I just can't see it at the moment so please explain by replying to the specific example.

Moreover I understand that when I short, the system will ask for twice my collateral but I don't see that. If I short $300 @ 33.33 ($0.03) it will ask for 10,000 BTSX.

Apologies in advance but my head gets confused many times in my thoughts...

General Discussion / Bit assets trading
« on: September 18, 2014, 10:22:30 am »
It may be obvious why it's not correct what I am saying, but wouldn't be better if I can trade my bitusd for bitbtc directly without the need to convert my bitusd to btsx and then use the btsx to buy bitusd?

Wouldn't this be more beneficial for all the pegs to hold and at the same time give additional value to all bitassets? For example there may be merchants that accept bitusd for some reason but not bitbtc and vice versa, so by holding any bitasset, I know I can trade it to any other bitasset to cover my needs.

If this happens BTSX will be only used as a collateral to create additional assets so its price will be strictly correlated to the additional demand for the creation of new additional bitassets...

I am probably talking nonsense  ::) but please explain..

General Discussion / Price speculation
« on: September 17, 2014, 08:47:45 pm »
How low do you guys BTC will go and how this will affect BTSX price?

Do you think BTC to go down to $300 and BTSX to $0.015?

Why BTC is falling when good news are coming out?

I don't care at all about what BTC will do but like it or not this affects BTS X price and I don't like when it falls as well. So please hold your BTSX and stop selling them at these prices...
