General Discussion / Re: COMPUMATRIX COMPUCEEDS investigation
« on: March 02, 2016, 08:27:19 pm »
The beginning to a long releationship is not based on heresay or starting off by using the worng words indicating something is wrong.

maybe this way they would feel it interesting to even reply themselves.

Did I see any thread saying welcome Compamatrix, can you tell us a little more about yourself?

^^agree
@btswolf could you at least remove the word "investigation" from the title of the thread?  It is more than just a little defamatory.
Giving them the 'benefit of the doubt', so to speak.

it looks pretty awesome! :) I want to have situation like this... everyday! :) But you know what? Now we all know, that this is possible :)

If anything, a monthly event could be done until people get used to it and it remains constant

Looking good!  Yeah, liquid Mondays?  Or we could all just agree to just trade on days that end in ''y"   :P

All we need now is a guerrilla team that advertises this particular feature and does a little marketing!

All in due time.. :)

General Discussion / Cultural Branding
« on: February 26, 2016, 07:06:44 am »
@roadscape passed this article on to me and I felt compelled to share it here.

It raises some interesting questions and seems to suggest that branding within ideologically driven crowd cultures has a great deal of merit within the social media landscape of the current era.

I'm curious how folks think the ideas presented here might be applied to creating narratives within certain 'crowd cultures' to the benefit of BitShares.

General Discussion / Re: Dilution in ...communication channels
« on: February 26, 2016, 01:34:32 am »
I agree that not reducing the number of, but indexing and promoting the various channels is the way to go.  In diversity is strength, and we will in time see which services are preferred by users for which reasons.  Also, I second the notion that hiding the bitsharestalk forum chat isn't a bad idea, I remember having the 'ghost town' experience there when I first started coming around... it's misleading at best.

General Discussion / Re: [ANN - AMA] bitCash - Digital Money of the Future!

I also think option 'B' sounds entirely reasonable. :)  Glad to hear things are still proceeding.  Let us know how else we can help!

An early demo of the cryptofresh Post feature, and a call for testers:

https://cryptofresh.com/posts

After logging in with your BitShares account, and can write posts directly on the blockchain.
New posts will appear on the page as they come in, creating a realtime chat experience.

Each account starts out with 100 test credits. Posts consume 5 credits (or more, depending on post length). Tips consume 5 test credits. This is to prevent spam and also a fun experiment. I am working towards a more convenient model but this allows us to start testing right away.

There are 3 main features in play:
1) Logging in
2) Posting
3) Tipping

Replying is not yet functional (but mostly implemented in the backend). Feedback welcome & let me know if anything breaks! :D

This is where it starts getting real interesting... ;)

Y'all don't even know what this cat is capable of... though perhaps some suspect.

It's just like you to hide this epic development here in the worker proposal thread.
Mad respect for you Roadscape!  You're driven, and adept in a way that so few are... This community is lucky to have you.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: falling off the currency list
« on: February 23, 2016, 10:43:48 pm »
Pretty much everything going on with MUSE we are not aware of, and thus, no one else is aware of it either, and you see that reflected in the price. Nevertheless, as far as I can tell MUSE and peertracks are still plugging away, and I for one am still anticipating great things. Why?  Just call it a hunch.

General Discussion / Re: Looking for Most Concise Rationale For SmartCoins
« on: February 23, 2016, 09:54:06 pm »
In the real world, you borrow USD from a bank or a gangster (sometimes they are close together)
In BitShares, you borrow USD from the network, which is written in code, won't cheat you and certainly can't harm you physically

:-P

SmartCoins: Be your own gangster  .... lol / jk  :P

Seriously though...

Because SmartCoins empower you to secure capital in a stable form of your choice, they are ideally suited to shield against the increasing volatility of the legacy financial system.  In addition to providing security and acting as a bulwark against volatility, SmartCoins are are readily convertible and transferable in a matter of seconds.

edit: I just love presupposition don't you? ;)

AKAIK Gemspace is on hold, due to certain moves / delays by the SEC... but they still have the only website in crypto that makes me want to dance. ;) http://gemspace.net/joinus/

General Discussion / Re: Newsletter - Special Leap Year Edition
« on: February 22, 2016, 04:32:06 pm »
I would contribute, and potentially help, but yeah the current deadline is too soon for me to be of much use.

So yes, I vote for pushing out the deadline, even though the leap day would be an amusing release date. ;)

« on: February 22, 2016, 01:40:04 am »
I suppose he's pissed (and rightfully so) because he was voted out.
This could be easily a warning example for others wishing to work for BitShares.

sure .. but it is a big warning ... as developers don't want  to have to fear each day on their paid salaries ..
Some people are not creating worker props. exactly due this causality …

I still support Cass' worker.  Downvote the refund workers to move the goalpost.

General Discussion / Re: Should we Abandon Proof of Stake Marketing?
« on: February 05, 2016, 09:19:00 am »
If we can afford changing names, I think the name "BitShares" is our biggest marketing liability.
Never too late to fix it...

Yep. Agreed.
Darkcoin / Dash pulled it off quite well.
