MemoryCoin / IMPORTANT! Help support MMC on Cryptsy
« on: January 11, 2014, 08:06:02 am »
Hey guys,
Isaac has started this thread but it's now on the 2nd page and I wanted to revive it with a new thread.
We need your support to increase the number of likes (currently only at 54) to add the coin to Cryptsy
All you have to do is click like here:
https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/46370

If you don't have an account, first sign up here:
https://www.cryptsy.com/users/register

Take 10 seconds of your time and let's bring more demand to the coin!
Thank you (and thank you Isaacgolbourne for starting this thread in the past).

Hi, Itsik!
I have sent my vote your way too.
any ideas how to get MMC on cryptsy? (and the sooner the better)

Stas
Hi Stas,
Thank you for your vote!
We're doing what we can there, but as you know, other than bringing the coin's unique features to their attention (and "bugging" them about it) we can't do much.
Also note that Cryptsy haven't added a new coin since Dec. 29th and there were about 100 new coins since then, many with media buzz around them, like the idiotic Coinye West coin :)
So we have some competition... But hopefully we'll be added on the next batch or the one after that.
Anyway, it will happen eventually. There's no doubt about that.

MemoryCoin / Re: MMCs first gambling service now available!
« on: January 11, 2014, 07:15:15 am »
Nice service!
I suggest you change the title of the post to signify that there's no house edge for the next 30 bets.
e.g. "MMCs first gambling service *NO HOUSE EDGE FOR THE NEXT X BETS*" to attract more people to this thread.

Great!
I've been discussing an article about Memory Coin with CoinDesk and they have mentioned that Bitcoin Tablet (www.bitcointablet.org.uk) is a good candidate for the charity as well.
They are supposed to contact me soon and I will pass their details on to our charity officer for further handling.

Status update:
1) We've created a great press release that was improved by FreeTrade and MaxPwr's comments. We've submitted it to dozens of crypto-coin related sites (didn't even know there were that many of them out there :) ) Seems like CoinDesk and a few others are going to write about the coin in the next few days.

2) Created social network accounts: https://twitter.com/MemoryCoinMMC2 and https://www.facebook.com/MemoryCoin2
The Twitter account has been and will be used to twit about the coin and "bug" exchanges and blogs about it. (Feel free to follow it!)
The Facebook account is still empty and we'll be adding content later on (feel free to like it!)

3) Created a giveaway on BitcoinTalk that seems like it achieved the target of having more people download the wallet and start mining the coin (this great wallet really does make you click "Mining -> Launch Pool Miner" just to see what happens so I think we should aim at getting more and more people downloading the wallet. Will continue with this giveaway tomorrow as well.

4) Contacted cryptsy and some other exchanges requesting them to look into the coin, emphasizing that we're not just another clone/meme coin. Cryptsy haven't added a new coin since Xmas and I'm pretty sure we'll be added on the next batch.

5) Thinking of ways to increase the coin's value through offered services. Will update on that in the next few days.

Good night!

We know you like mining, so now you can mine while you mine :)

I run the gpu miner along with cgminer and set all GPU config from there.

Can you actualy do that? How?
Can you just run cgminer for the temp and autofan option and not actualy mine anything???

Yep.
What I actually do is run reorder's miner and then start CGMiner on Intensity 19.
I let them both work together.
On 2 r290 I have installed I'm getting 14.5 hpm per card on the gui miner + 250-300khash/s on CGMiner
So overall it seems to give more than 100% combined :)

MemoryCoin / Re: MMC sinking
« on: January 09, 2014, 08:43:19 pm »
I second what Itsik78 is saying. Take it easy, with time and effort the value will rise.
You are doing a great job btw, keep it up!
Thank you very much! :)

You'd think some miners could learn something while instaselling LTC in 2012 or QRK this year. They cannot be that stupid.

Not really :)
I don't think of them as being dumb, especially with all the new coins where the price gets to 1 or 2 satoshis in a matter of minutes from being added to the first excchange. they just prefer quick and certain profit over long range risk. I can understand that.

MMC still hasn't had a chance to explore the social networking side, which will be huge.

Isn't that the officers job to be doing, that they're not doing?
Working on it.
Opened a Twitter account and a Facebook account.
Nothing worth mentioning yet. Just using the Twitter to twit to exchanges and blogs for now.

Anyway - regarding the miners. You can't control the miners. Most of them want quick profit and will not hold a coin no matter what qualities it possesses.
Currently the mining is profitable over many other coins so a lot of miners come, mine, dump and move on.
Think long range here, like Bitcoin and not like Dogecoin.
Breathe, relax and close the Bter tab for a while :)
I will update when Cryptsy adds us.
Also working on a lot of media coverage in the next few days to increase demand of the coin (which will increase the coin's price).

Hoping someone can comment on this, just wonder if it is unusual activity or to be expected.  Thanks.

I think you better ask the pool operators that. I don't remember seeing these spikes.
They all have threads in this forum so you can contact the one you're using with this question. Would be more efficient.

Thanks Isaac, it's a new .ico file we need - the one I have in the installer is a rough so doesn't look good.
True, Isaac.

1) MemoryCoin lowers the cost of adoption to increase accessibility for those who may be left behind by innovations in virtual currency.  MemoryCoin broadens the virtual currency user base to create an empowered community of individuals with a voice in its development.

2) Last paragraph - instead of "used to finance the MemoryCoin infrastructure", maybe change to "used for community development and job growth"

-IMO, I prefer the "skill training" and "job growth" angles...let's get some young web developers in here to volunteer for some work :)

3) Minor comment: Is "Official Charity" the phrase we use?  Kind of sounds like they'll be our permanent charity when they could get knocked off the list... maybe "Community Charity" or "Elected Charity"?

...announced today that any charitable organization that wishes to become MemoryCoin's Official Charity, can publicly declare itself a candidate to be elected MemoryCoin's Community Charity and receive a 1% donation of all coins mined; as of today this amount of MemoryCoins translates into about a few hundred dollars per day.

Great comments, thank you!
Already submitted to about 20 cryptocoin sites, but will use your comments for future submissions.

Thanks!

Looks good!

Maybe change

>credit card companies and PayPal refuse to operate

to

>credit card companies and PayPal don't operate

('refuse to operate' is a bit of a swipe that not all media outlets would be happy with)
True.
Thanks!
