General Discussion / Re: BitShares 0.5.0 Feedback

What kind of processor do you have and how many gigabyte ram?
win8.1, 16Gb, 3.3Hhz, i3-3220
I guess that's a bit slow. Its using 30% CPU while syncing.

0.5.0 wallet seems to be taking a little longer than expected to sync - its thinking hard: "last block was synced 25d... ago"
- ? any tips, its been an hour so far, just wandering if I need to try anything else at this stage or should I leave it running for longer.
- should I reset the peer list perhaps?

Does that include standby delegates?
I am not sure. Can delegates that provide more feeds be given more weight per vote?

Lucid dreamers activate a predominance of 13-19Hz beta waves derived from the parietal lobe, perceiving an indepth awareness of self and self representation (that there is evidence they have some control over) - perhaps in Lucid dreams these locations are naturally over stimulated - combining a state of waking and dreaming. With fMRI, embodiment (an awareness of physical body in relation to self) is pinpointed to the temporoparietal junction which absorbs data feeds from lateral visual cortices. As these dreams may help the way we deal with laying down semantic memory and problem solving, one question that arises is how useful this will be in developing independent AI machines (self reflection is closely knitted to reflection about others and morality). Robots need to be able to learn not to be selfish, to learn to 'lose' their ego, or they could become highly disruptive (evil robot!). I hope that AI entities evolve to lose their Freudian ego at an early stage. The question is not whether we can tell if we are in a lucid state or not - its in determining which reality state best maps to the physical laws of the universe. This should be easier for AI to evaluate, or otherwise won't Alice in Wonderland type realities emerge?

There are 2 feeds up for this at the moment. Any delegates looking into developing more feeds for oil?

Technical Support / Re: BitShares 0.4.27.1 - problems
« on: December 21, 2014, 10:31:39 pm »
A bit of patience has paid off. One thread suggested removing "peers.leveldb" and "chain" directories from the BitShares roaming subfolder. This caused a further crash on resync but after a few hours it has successfully reconnected syncing all blocks. Perhaps the wallet could have more user (noob) friendly tips displayed if it clearly isnt syncing, with suggested solutions.

I am aware of the issues.  It is frustrating me as well.
Quite a few "freezing episodes" on Windows, locking machine. I guess we wait for an update.

BitShares PTS / Re: Registering with a new account

Are you using version 2.0.1 of the wallet? If not please upgrade.
That was it. Thanks. I originally downloaded the 2.0 wallet here:
https://github.com/PTS-DPOS/PTS/releases
- ? windows link needs updating
Anyway, working just fine now with 2.0.1.
Hoping bter will restore things soon - looks like they need to tweak a few things with deposits/withdrawals.

Any failsafe step by step instructions? Registration attempts stall and list as 'pending' for a hour or so, then fail.

btw, anywhere we can check bitshares wallet download numbers?

The number of accounts is suggested at http://bitsharesblocks.com/accounts currently 31589
ok. thanks, so the number of registered users here would suggest that this is not a limiting factor, but that the download speed, of course, might be hampering registrations.

You can search for US Trademarks here. Is it 'against the law' in US to claim you have a Trademark for something, when you don't have one?
