I updated the survey with the great suggestions,

So keep them coming...

Don't know how to add an "other" value where people can add other suggestions, so maybe just post them to the forum?

Would it be offensive to refer to the Bitmaster as any of the following?

* Prophet
* Seer
* Revelator
* God

Another thing that would be fun is to set some kind of world wide party.

Perhaps we could tie it to a goal, like surpassing the Market cap of Litecoin or something.

We could spend the hole time worshiping the Bitemaster.

Thanks for bringing this up!  I am all in, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

We ALL owe him so much, and don't want him to ever burn out.

Technical Support / Voting questions / issues.
« on: September 04, 2014, 02:45:21 am »

Trying to figure out this voting of my shares thing.

If I want to vote for 33 delegates on all transactions, I set up my slate for these 33, then for each transaction, I select "vote all" as in vote for everyone in my slate?  Will the random choice only vote for a random set of the 33 delegates in my current slate?

When I execute this command:

   votes <account with no shares>

I get the expected "No votes found."

But when I execute the same votes command on an account with shares, it just does nothing?

Oh, and what is an easy way to tell what version of the wallet I am running?
I believe I am on 0.4.10

Technical Support / How much is a Bitshare Satoshi
« on: September 04, 2014, 02:24:36 am »

What is the resolution of BitsharesX (how much is a Bitshare Satoshi)?

In the wallet I see 5 digits after the decimal, but in other locations I see more?

Does the wallet clip or round...?

How do you set the wallet so it will always display them all?

Okay.  July 21, 2014 I see price of .00002125 BTC from coinmarketcap.com 180 day chart. From coindesk.com I see a BTC price of $620 on that day so I think it comes out to $.013175 per BTSX.

Best I can do for now.

Edit:  Even lower the next day, July 22, 2014: .00001598 BTC and BTC $618 for $.00987564 per BTSX.

Great, with those facts, nobody can deny the claim of the initial price.  But it's still not to far off my original assumption of $0.005, or just a rounder error.

I believe the average person 'bought' the initial shares for less than $0.005

I doubt it. Closer to $0.01 average for initial shares.

Can you provide some justification for this, which everyone will accept as fact?

He is correct.  It was about $.01 or less.  I had no initial shares so I had to buy.

Think that would hold up if I added that to wikipedia? "The opening prices of "bitsharesX was less than $.01, and we know this because GaltReport claimed it, and he knows because he didn't get any genesis shares so he had to buy afterwords."

Where are you guys getting these numbers?

Brent

I have been thinking about something similar and related to this a lot recently.

I've been wondering if adopting the term "bits" in place of BTSX or the previous suggestion "bips", which does not seem to have gained any traction.

I think it would go a long way to helping users understand bitassets relation to BTSX, and would make the naming of bitUSD, bitGLD, bitCNY, etc. seem more obvious.

Adopting bips would be very unfortunate, as bips, or bps, is another word for basis point, 1/100 of 1%. Used very frequently in all sorts of investments and trading environments.

And USD, everyone assumes is USD.  How would you say BitUSD/USD=1, if there was no Bit?

Yea, I'm just rounding to the nearest order of magnitude.

General Discussion / When will we achieve next order of magnitude increase?
« on: September 03, 2014, 09:16:06 pm »

Through most if Bitcoin's history, it increased in value an order of magnitude in price 7 times, and all but one of those was in almost exactly 6 months.

See this historical graph:

http://canonizer.com/topic.asp/154/2

I'm assuming the reason it has stopped this progression is because of Bitcoin 2.0, primarily BitsharesX.

And it seems that Bitshares is taking up this 10 times increase every 6 months where Bitcoin left off.

After all, most of us purchased our Genesis block Bitshares at around $0.005 per share right?  And the first bubble easily made it past $0.05 in about 6 months time.

My prediction is that it will hit $0.50 per share in less than 6 months, and that this rate will continue for some time.  Anyone have any arguments for a different view?

Also, just as I've been predicting, the price of Bitshares would be depressed until the Either sale ended, many people taking their 10 times profit and rolling into Either.  Now that is over, the price looks like it is starting to move again.
