Technical Support / Re: Help porting from desktop to online wallet

https://bitshares.openledger.info/existing-account Just import your backup here.
Or here: https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/existing-account
( I guess you're using "wallet model" [backup with password])

You can use Desktop client and web client simultaneously. Desktop is faster for me, and safer!

If key found, then maybe you must claim your balance. (options).
Is "original username for bitshares" is newly created wallet? Just go into options/wallet and set other wallet active.
I"m afraid i don't understand fully what you're doing.

Under settings/wallet. Drop down list (if you have more than one wallet). It's good to make custom names for backups (wallets) - you will be lost very soon with "bts_default" naming scheme. If private  key is from 2.0 it should work for you - I've tested some time ago. Can't help you with earlier version, because I had no idea about bitshares before, but if I had old key I would try to paste it somewhere under permision tab as  owner key maybe. One I know older keys were not associated with accounts, so you need account first, then you can import the key,

Create new wallet in settings (it will be empty), make it active and import key (WiF).
For pre-2.0  key you'll need account first (empty wallet would not work afaik).

Looks promising. Big progress in 1 week also. It will benefit your core work for sure.

We're far away from max capacity and still growing, so...
According to Dan's EOS presentation when we compare daily transactions it is:
Bitshares + Steem > Bitcoin + ETH + any other blockchain.

Openledger / Re: Need some Open Ledger help, please.
« on: May 25, 2017, 05:28:32 am »
It depends how you've created that account. AFAIK wallet model "force" you to do backup after registration ("create backup now" page). My guess is that account is created in account model. I'm rying Openledger now and i can't see any button to log in this way if another account is loaded. This might be not your case but if:
bitshares.org/wallet
and login with password.

There is nothing you can do without password. Brainkey is additional backup method that you can find in options (wallet model only), it is basically very long password which allow to recreate account without any backup - but it is to late for you to make one. Try to remind the password.
Do you understand the difference between "wallet model" and "account model"? There is possibility that you are trying login with password only which is possible in account model only. Here is similar issue: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,24127.0.html

It means your withdrawal request can not be processed as long as account name BTS7oJ5icgrbMRdzGSKau1NKQqxmYsMRa6rnHsZdxArjCVPWnvi3D is not registered.
In short: contact poloniex support

Technical Support / Re: Deposit via Blocktrades (tradeX) question

This is shapeshift like service. So you're buying something for that BTC. The limit says how much is available for that price. If you send more, you have no guarantee of current price - so probably they'll send you rest back or fill your order with same price if market allow.. Just my speculations.

A bridge lets you exchange an asset into another one, for example BTC to BTS.[/guote]

For deposits use OPEN.X service. There is no limit.

BTW Just noticed that escrow account has set its own proxy which perhaps shouldn't be: that BTS doesn't belong to them.

Import backup here:
https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/existing-account
Or better option:
Download desktop client from bitshares.org/download. Go to settings -> Restore/Import -> import from bin file.

We have two login models now. New (easy one) login with just password, or old - backup and password. The login models are not compatible, and old one is bit hidden. You have right to be confused.
I can't check if Openledger merged new model, because  it's hanging, but looks like this is the case.
