I like:
Better Businesses through Blockchains

Only problem is using a term that isn't readily known (blockchains).    But I like how short it is and the use of alliteration. b

Empirical1,

Great idea on the news site.  I've watched coindesk rise in the rankings as they've produced an incredibly in depth resource and capture a lot of eyes, so such a site could eventually get a lot of visitors.   My only thought is, if it's entirely DAC focused will we have enough news content to fill out the site?

As far as the 3-4 min weekly round up idea, I'm already on it.  I interviewed on video all the core devs in VA last week about the project, what they're working on, etc and am now editing a 3-5 min video out of it, kind of a "behind the scenes with BitShares" video.   I'm going to do another in July at the VA tech corporate research center where the team is now focusing operations.  That will be a "Summer of Code" video. So while not weekly, it will be monthly.   I also got some short updates in Chinese and Russian and I plan to continue to film people using non-english languages as well, so we can share our videos with as wide an audience as possible.... I've been thinking a lot lately about our slogan "Bitshares does for...."

Yes, it may have been a way at one time to piggyback on the rising star that is Bitcion and all the buzz it's generated over the years....but now?  With the 51% attack issue now a real (and no longer imagined) possibility, as well as other major flaws with Bitcoin, your points are valid. Rather than hitching our slogan to the Bitcoin star, we may be hitching it to an (eventual) sinking stone.   We should consider changing that slogan to something else soon....

So perhaps we start a bounty to come up with a new slogan? I like the direction of some of the ones already posted.  This is a challenge because creating a catch phrase that also describes what Bitshares does, and keeping it brief, will be a challenge...further thoughts? B

Like I said, just doing as I was instructed, so if toast wants to run with it, sounds good to me! B

I'm in the process of creating some visual charts and an infographic from the budget data for our organization.  It's not exactly what you asked for, but could certaily be useful and will show visually where money is going and has been put to use to date for the BitShares project.  B

Unfortunately, we didn't make this event, but I heard it was awesome.  We will definitely be at Money 20/20 however, later in the year.  An equally impressive event. B

After discussing with bytemaster, this project will have to be something that isn't completed by a member of the core team.  Instead, specific DAC sites will be created by those using our technology to launch BitShares based businesses.  This allows us to simply be a team that creates software that powers these businesses, and gives us a "firewall" for legal reasons. Also, it fits the idea that we want to be decentralized.  Simply stated, we create the tools used to build DACs, we don't build DACs ourselves.  B

It's amazing to me how bytemaster is ahead of the thought curve so often.  He was the first voice I know of out there who was seriously preaching the concept that Bitcoin is not really decentralized, that it's essentially in control of a handful of mining pool operators and is based on a wasteful, outdated form of security.  Now it seems these ideas are catching on in the community at large (not just ours) and that's a great thing.   As Ghandi said:

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

This "The Revolution Will Not Be Centralized" tee was my favorite creation.  I didn't make one with "Reimagine Everything" yet but we could.

But I'm open to completely new ideas if you all would like to create one that's got a different slogan or image.  If we have a clear design winner, I have a place that can print them up at a decent price.

Now how to get them to everyone on the forum who may want one (all over the world)....

General Discussion / BitShares X website design discusssion

The basic design of bitshares.org is meant to function like a directory (thus the .org - it's an organiation of BitShares powered businesses). It will point to the specific DACs, which in turn will have a distinct site.

I suggested to bytemaster that we start getting the BitShares X site ready now so we have a nice package to put the finished product in when it's complete.  The dev team is working hard in VA and making great progress on the backend, now we need help on the front end - the storefront, so to speak.

There are a lot of features that will need to be present in order for it to work as a bank & exchange.  I'd like to hear what your thoughts are for how such a site should be designed, what kind of elements it will need, can we find any great examples out there, like toast recently sent me from bloomberg's site, etc.   Please post links to sites you like and/or elements we'll need to build.

This event certainly is jam packed with serious heavy hitters (I'm a huge Ray Kurzweil fan). The cost is steep ($3750) for a ticket but it certainly could lead to powerful new contacts for us.  Bytemaster I'm sure won't be able to attend but I could, if the team supports the idea. Will run by bytemaster and see if it's a possibility.  B

Should be fixed now. (also will get it centered).  B
