General Discussion / LOOKING TO HELP? Request new exchanges add BTSX
« on: August 11, 2014, 05:50:06 pm »
I'd like to get BTSX listed on several more exchanges.   Currently we're on BTER and BTC38, Poloniex and Coinport.   I think Cryptsy and BTC-e would be musts. Anyone have suggestions for others we should look into? Which exchanges would you suggest are very important to be on and why?

Please, send emails to your favorite exchanges and request they add BTSX and if you have direct contacts at any exchange, PM me and we'll start talking with them to get us added.

General Discussion / Re: New Chapter for MktDirector
« on: August 11, 2014, 02:24:29 pm »
Thanks guys.   My primary focus will be all about BitSharesX right now as the strategy for upcoming DACs is still being drafted.   Riverhead is right, I have a lot more skin in the game as I'll only be rewarded for my efforts and results now and no longer paid for my time.

The marketing campaign we plan to run won't take effect overnight, but when it does, we expect to see significant adoption and inflow of capital to BitSharesX. We have targets for number of downloads, number of funded wallets, total market cap, etc.  So please, get your hands on BTSX now, while it's still cheap. I want the community to benefit from what's to come, since you all built this as much as any of us have.

General Discussion / New Chapter for MktDirector
« on: August 11, 2014, 12:55:23 am »
As someone who's been an entrepreneur and self employed nearly all of my professional life, I've always been drawn to starting businesses.   As of today, I'll once again be self employed, as I am launching a new marketing company.   I'll continue on as brand champion for BitShares and will still be very involved with the BitShares team, but will no longer draw a salary.  I believe there will soon be a real need to market and promote new DACs and I want to focus my efforts on doing just that.

One of our core values at BitShares has always been about decentralization.  In the next six months I expect the pace of decentralization to increase, even among BitShares as an organization.  We will have several businesses spring out of our core team, this one being just one of them.  I have put together an incredible team of my own and our primary focus in the next couple months will be in improving and promoting BitSharesX, as well as strategic marketing for several upcoming DACs.

Expect in the near future to see a link for my company on the partners page and feel free to reach out if you're a project lead on a DAC and you'd like to discuss how we can help you with your marketing needs.   Thanks BitShares forum, and here's to even greater days ahead for BitShares!

Bigger Than Bitcoin,
Brian

I didn't say anything before because I don't jump on the forum and list everyting I do behind the scenes, but I designed the look and feel of the BitSharesX site and wrote all the content (with Cass implementing my ideas and choosing some of the images/design elements, of course).

I hear what you're saying and I agree, it's a simpler, more direct site to use for bitshares, but originally bitshares.org was what I was told to build. I incorporated every element I was told to.  If I had it my way it would have looked like the X site from the very beginning. Stupid simple, elegant, easy to grasp.

I'll discuss with the team about changing our main site to something more like that, with at least a few more elements still included.... Would be silly not to include the video, as it's the very reason many people outside the industry told me they were hooked and wanted to learn more.   B

Yes, we may be an afterthought in the article, but not behind the scenes.  We're actively in talks with Overstock - that's all I'm allowed to say now.  Also, I just found out this week that the guy hosting this event in St. Martin is the very one who met with Byrne and told him to contact us.  These cats are connected at the highest levels, so things are brewing.  I predict this week will lead to some of the biggest breakthroughs for BitShares. -B

General Discussion / Kevin Harrington and St. Martin
« on: July 31, 2014, 03:39:47 am »
Hey guys. We just had an incredible dinner meeting with Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank fame (as well as a dozen other equally successful business leaders and high net worth individuals from around the globe).  He's a fricking rockstar in business and very interested in what BitShares is doing.  We'll be spending all day with him tomorrow to see what may be possible.

Dan absolutley got everyone here buzzing about BitShares, I did my first presentation on the Fifth Wave of Decentralization, we were mentioned in the Wired Magazine article today and on a recent TED talk as well.  Half the attendees purchased BitSharesX (if you noticed the 20% bump this morning- that was these guys). Great things in store for all of us....   B

General Discussion / Re: The video calls bitcoin a company
« on: July 22, 2014, 07:05:51 pm »
DAC stands for decentralized autonomous company.  It's a company because it IS for profit. Profit is the incentive that makes us different from all other 2.0 technologies out there.  If something doesn't produce a profit (ie: value) then it can't thrive and grow.  The only thing that can grow without prodcing added value is government.  So are we a technical "company"? No, but that's the closest metaphor we have to describe a DAC, and thus BitShares.
