Notification from the Chinese community about "sfinder"

Notification from the Chinese community about "sfinder"
"dacsunlimited.com" ,well known in the Chinese community .

He's a well known member of the Chinese community for what he claimed to "Used the free trial of VPS to mined 3000 PTS in the first three days which worth nearly 100K USD at the highest price ".

Because of he's claim , many people in the Chinese community get to know him , be friends with him , some of those people are actually well respected members of the Chinese community .

It's no secret that sfinder =  星在飘我在找 = 星在飘我要找 = COINS ??? ="dacsunlimited.com"  , he can deny all he want , but the people who he friended with before have no doubt in that , including the ones who team up with him to be a delegate .

Under the support and team up with other Chinese member , he got voted in as delegates , even Bytemaster voted for him once.  (multiple delegates)

This person was constantly spreading half-truth FUD on the comment zone of the BTC38 exchange , to cause panic , maybe for fun ? May be for manipulating the price ? We're not sure . But when his team mate and former friends confronted him with that information , he laughed , he said that even if he does not spread this kind of FUD , other people would . "You guys should thank me , because of me , you can have this low price for BTS " , this kind of sentence repeatedly spoken on a delegate  QQ group . Finally , nearly all of the Chinese members were angry , so they kicked him out of the delegate QQ group , his former team mates left the team .

After he was kicked out from the Chinese community and the core QQ groups , he joint another QQ group again to spread FUD , and continue to spread FUD on the BTC38 comment zone .  (later on , his forum ID coins and sfinder defended sfinder on the forum , to explain his actions on BTC38 was fair comment . ) But the weird part is , now he's claiming the guy posted the information on BTC38 can not be linked to the sfinder ID on the forum ? What a joke , can he even hear himself ?

The Chinese community thought they've get rid of the bad influence of this guy ? They were so naive . After the merger plan was released , he saw the opportunity of being a paid delegate , but he was afraid that only great contributors can get the high pay rate seat . So , he announced in a QQ group that "I had to do something to prove himself to BM and stan , so they can vote for me ".  Later on ,  during the falling of BTSX price , he even said openly "I'm buying ! Good price ! Oh , wait , if I can post some scandal about I3 China and let the outside world to see , then the price of BTSX would be dropped to 0.06CNY for sure ! (it was 0.1 CNY then ) .  I can buy more ! "  Other people in the QQ group were angry at his behavior , urge him to stop spread FUD for personal gain , but he laugh at them , said "if I don't do it , somebody else would , that's the nature of the market , I'm just a ride along " .

Although sfinder want to cut ties with this person in the QQ group , but everybody know he's sfinder in the past 6 months .

The next day , a post regarding to a FUD scandal was released by a username called "dacsunlimited.com" , which was registered in August . So , you can see how a grand planer this guy is .
In this FUD post , the fake  "dacsunlimited.com" ID used a mis-spell "stay turned" instead of "stay tuned" , same grammar error was made by sfinder's previous unrelated post .

And the Coins ID on this forum  , from what the Chinese have gathered so far , the way he talks is essentially the same tone as sfinder .  So , the Chinese are highly suspect that guy was sfinder's fake ID too.

This guy , sfinder , acted like a puppy in front of the English speaking people , but showed his true nature in many Chinese posts and communications in QQ groups for nearly 6 months .

Oh , wait , in addition to how bad this guy was , Do you know what NEM stake is ? Yeah , a project that was distributed on Bitcointalk.org , the project specifically told no one can use multiple account to get free NEM stakes , but sfinder registered multiple account to get multiple NEM stakes ,  and brag it on the Chinese QQ group . He was even discovered spreading FUD on the very NEM  project he claimed . What a joke !

All the evidence was reviewed by the most respected members of the Chinese community , these is no point of arguing the validity anymore . Of course , none of this can be proved in Court , because we don't have that kind of investigating power like the NSA, but Do the community really want to risk the future of this community despite of the best judgement from the Chinese community ?

His delegate names are :
bts.coin
e.coin
bimin.coin
chinese
help.chinese
baidu
coin
coin4coin
coin4dns
coin4fun
coin4keyid

Quote from BTSDAC member : coins ,you own the delegate coin of KEYID, and name coin in KEYID is from Genesis block , so you also control the name of coin in btsx.  sfinder control the name of coin in btsx so the result is  coins and sfinder are same person.
actually in QQ group ,most of man know who you are .

Crazy stuff. We're talking about the top three delegates here by the way, (the .coin delegates), that have far more votes than any other delegates. If he's really so bad how did he manage to get that many votes? bts.coin has almost 100 million more votes than the next "non-sfinder" delegate.

Frightening that he managed to get so much delegates. We need journalist (or rather hacker/journalist) delegates able to watch other delegates... (I love the "stay turned up", we're living a TV serie).

How can we confirm that all those delegates are indeed sfinder's ? sfinder is a hero member, I hope he will respond openly

The campaign post of coin team. Originally, there were 5 members, including sfinder. Now, three them have left. They are preparing an announcement right now.

What is his version of the events?

you can wait for his repond. Meanwhile, you can take a look at what he said and have your judgement:

It means:
Quote
星在飘还在找 (qq# 1927882308): got to post a thread which claims that there is a scandal about i3, that someone has stolen 2,000,000 CNY of marketg fund. So the price will definitely drop to 6 cents.

We are talking about some serious accusations here.  And these accusations are coming from a 'newbie' account.  Are the accusations based on concrete evidence or are they derived from hearsay?  Is this part of an effort to protect the bitshare ecosystem from a rogue delegate(s) or is this part of a smear campaign (eg by a group of 'opposing delegates' or people with personal grudge against the named person).  Like what svk has pointed out, it is crazy to think someone of that nature (if proven) has a hold on the delegates at top few positions.  Where do all the hundred of millions of votes come from?   What has sfinder said or done?  What is his side of the story?

If true, then 5 delegates in the top 100, is a nice little dilution earner.

I think they'd need to be created again to get more than 3%.

we can not prove the guy in btc38 is "sfinder".  as i know you can name youself anyname in btc38.

sfinder is "sfinder" in this forum in this community .

sfinder is a long term contributor to this community including donate his own server to setup a demo wallet for the community.
as i know sfinder is trying to following the spending of BM's 400btc  funding that issued to chinese community in this April

currently only around 2500cny being received by chinese community
see his post  as following

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=10912.msg143938#msg143938

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtRmp4NraeAydHlTd1VnaWF3SXA5Q20wUU9NTFN6UkE#gid=0

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqTwk-e7yzJydDFnQmlkTVlkbWpubnJBbzR2UG5ucnc&usp=sharing#gid=0

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtRmp4NraeAydHlTd1VnaWF3SXA5Q20wUU9NTFN6UkE#gid=0

If true, then 5 delegates in the top 100, is a nice little dilution earner.

I think they'd need to be created again to get more than 3%.

Yip. That's good.

We'll have to wait for the outcome, but still the fact that the most popular few delegates could potentially be malevolent for so long is not good for dilution, (esp. marketing) or even controlling 5 delegates at all. If it's all a carefully constructed smear campaign then it already foreshadows other problems too.
BTC38 controlling 10%+ BTS, with TITAN is not good. Accusations of attempts to form secret power blocks is not good. It all points to the flaws of adopting a simplistic company metaphor for BTS at this stage. At the very least people should admit BTS is probably not ready for it. Each morning I feel I'm waking up into a bigger theatre of the absurd that was all totally predictable & we could have already been at no.2 on another path. This can still work, but gee, what a gamble. Rant over.

here are some nice snapshots of what sfinder said:

1. there was also a 'sfinder', who was a shareholder of NEM, but claimed that NEM is a scam. And this behavior was revealed in this post (EN):

2. another post of 'sfinder' at another forum, who have the same avatar of 'sfinder' here, posted this message about I3 (see translation below):

It means:
Quote
sfinder: I have confirmed this with the hosts, that BM won't attend the bitcoin conference held in Beijing in May. They explained that this conference will conflict with their development schedule.

However, everyone can also interpret this message as: "the trick of B* the lier was exposed, so he is too shamed to come to this conference." "You see, this lying company even lies about a conference", "this is a sign of them to run away with all the money, everyone should be careful", "only chinese people are investing PTS, how can they neglect us?"

In brief, "the scam is about to blow, you better sell all your pts ASAP, or it's price will crash to zero." 8) 8) 8)

Nice try , Coins .....
Last week somebody on this forum pointed out that sfinder often spread FUD on BTC38 , you jumped out and defended him (or you ???) , not only you did not deny the guy on BTC38 is sfinder ,

but also said "He did a lot of contributions for the community , in his unique way to guide the Chinese community no to be just followers....... He's reminding you guys in his own way that market behavior exist , the flower in the greenhouse can not withstand storm.".

Still want to claim sfinder isn't the guy on BTC38 ? More lies , please !

I am thrilled to see how effectively the stakeholder community is able to resolve this!

This is one of the really big tests of public dispute and stakeholder consensus in the ecosystem. If we're able to quickly and reliably figure out what happened, and vote accordingly, then we will be in very good shape for the prime time rollout of delegates!

Exciting!

Personally, I'm very busy and won't have time to dig through evidence for this. I will vote and remove votes according to the directive of a forum personality i trust beyond any reasonable doubt, and I think many/most "lazy" stakeholders will follow this strategy as well.

I think it is imperative that trusted personalities such as Dan and Stan quickly go through as much evidence as they can, then publicly announce a quick TL;DR of the evidence (as they see it) along with how they are voting as a result of that evidence.

It is really simple, I will not vote for a paid position but as long as upgrades are prompt and blocks are produced he can maintain a delegate.

Based on the proofs I got from different members of Chinese community, I confirm the truth of the OP. I have transferred all the proofs to Bo Shen, CEO of Dacsunlimited. BM or Stan will know all the details soon.
Thanks!

It is really simple, I will not vote for a paid position but as long as upgrades are prompt and blocks are produced he can maintain a delegate.
I am wondering why do you still vote for this guy,  he really hurt much of us.
I think many people who love this community want to  maintain  a delegate node.

Quick question :  the total amount DNS that included in the new BTS air drop , is it 5 Billion or 10 Billion or the real time supply on 11.05 snapshot ? Just to confirm for BTC38

Really  ??? Ok, that surprises me.  I assume that's for one delegate position. If he's shown to have 5, I assume 4 will not get your vote at least.

coins ,you own the delegate coin of KEYID, and name coin in KEYID is from Genesis block , so you also control the name of coin in btsx.  sfinder control the name of coin in btsx
so the result is  coins and sfinder are same person.
actually in QQ group ,most of man know who you are .

I'm the former member of coins delegate . I was in active contact with that guy both on the forum and QQ ,  I can prove sfinder was the guy on BTC38 . Because of his bad act , most of the founder of coins-team left .

I do have the impression that sfinder is a two-faced man.  His posts in English are quite different from those in Chinese (both in this forum or in Chinese QQ group or btc38, mostly are negative and misleading for newbies) which makes me sick.

When presenting a fact, the way you present it could turn the result upside down.  I didn't realize that he's associated with so many delegates.  Delegates have the right to express different opinions against 'official' proposal.  But using that (partial fact and lots of decorative/exaggerated/inflammatory description) to spread FUD for personal financial gain is evil.

I am pulling my votes out of these delegates.

I don't know whether you have received the proofs from Bo Shen or not. Those proofs can tell you that Sfinder's evilness and damage to BTS community, especially BTS Chinese community is undeniable. Look at these IDs who stand out to oppose him, then think about why there is not even one ID with good reputation in Chinese community stands out to support him.

We count on you to vote down him because currently you have the absolute control of delegates positions, so you have the responsibility to respect the opinion of the majority. Delegate is not only a pure technical position, but also a honor position.

Any delegate who has been spreading FUD with the goal of crashing the price for their personal profit should be voted out of all delegate positions as soon as it is clear they are guilty.

It makes me very angry to think that this price crash couldve been caused by a delegate profiding false info to the chinese community.

Seconded!  Provided there's proof (I can't read Chinese, so can't comment on that,) this may be our first case of delegate dishonesty and our first chance to prove that not only does the technical side of bitshares -- peg, markets, etc. -- work, but that the human element does too.

We should have a few guide lines that the community agrees on and that all delegates are expected to follow to makes it as easy as possible to detect misbehavior and encourage a "voting culture" that is most beneficial for BTS. For example:
- It should be evident from the information that the delegate provides (on the blockchain; not only on the forum) which forum or real world identities are associated with the delegate).
- no votes buying
-....

Besides three .coin delegates, chinese and help.chinese are his delegates, too.

BTW: The poll "pan" referred to was started by ID "coins", who is highly related to Sfinder.  Besides, the results are not objective, because there are currently 14 votes for the option "do not trust i3 chinese marketing team  due to the blackbox to the marketing  fund", however in the replies, only one full member ID supported "coins", whereas all others are against "coins". It means most of the supporters of coins are anonymous, they could a bunch of new IDs.

As a member from chinese community and long term supporter of BTS career, I have the same viewpoint along with Ripplexiaoshan, Alt,HeyD,Crazybit,Sudo,BTSdac,Snail  on sfinder case.

I think the community have plenty of evidence and contexts prove that he is not qualified as a BTS delegate based on his behavior.

The english part of community may not be easy to check the whole thing out ,but the chinese community have been watching on him for a long time , and got the conclusion above.

This case  is very classic and important,I think.

If the community unable to dig the mice out of the BTS system , that proves the weakpoint of the  DPOS mechanism .

Because we even cannt vote out one delegate who is exposed and denied by such number of community members .

If it was up to you only, we have a bigger problem. Oh wait......

This does not imply any negative characteristics on your part, just you control a lot of voting power. By default, hat is okay. I'm okay with it. This does look like an oligarchy to outsiders after you took away his votes and sent him to the bottom of the 101 delegates. Can't say one thing and do another. Perhaps these votes should be kept to ones self to avoid any public conflicts of interest or confusion?

Well, this has motivated me to cast my first vote and it was not an intuitive experience.

- Feedback on the voting experience -  (thought I would just post it here)

A few weeks ago I thought I had voted by simply clicking up on a bunch of delegates, but I wasn't sure as I thought a transaction was needed to cast the vote.  Since then I hedged in bitUSD several days ago, so I thought my vote had gone through then as I had made a transaction (even though I still got the message that my not all my stake was voting, I thought, well most of it must be).

But then today I updated a bunch of my votes in the 'delegate' section and downvoted (which I discover is removing the ability to vote in favour rather than a downvote) of the 5 suspect accounts here.  I then thought that I need to make a transaction to cast my vote, so I went and bought 0.1bitUSD, thinking that would do the trick.  But I did that and my account continued to say I was not voting with all my stake.  So, I kept looking and found in my account the 'update vote' button,

I didn't want to 'vote all' as that sounded like I could vote even for the delegates I had downvoted, and I didn't want a random subset as that sounded like it could include them too, so I clicked 'vote as delegates recommended', and found a bunch of delegates I didn't upvote in the delegates section were voted for.  Confused, I looked on the wiki, and saw that "vote as delegates recommend" results in voting for a delegates 'slate' I had approved.  Who's slate?  I still do not know who's 'slate' I approved and I was still getting the 'your not voting with all of your stake' message.  Where do you see and approve a delegates 'slate'?

So, I pressed on, determined to get my vote in, so I looked on the wiki and saw I needed to vote for 101 delegates to get that message to go away and that if I clicked 'vote all' it would do as I said.  So I went back to the delegates and made sure to click on at least 101 delegates, even going into the standby-delegates section to make sure I voted for enough (as some in the top 101 I didn't want to vote for, I hadn't kept count of all the ones in the top 101 I didn't want to vote for so I just had to keep voting in the sub-101 to make sure I had upvoted enough)  and then I updated my vote.  So I presume if I only clicked 100 delegates I would still get that 'not all of your stake is voting' message?

Mission accomplished (at last).

But that was not an intuitive voting experience.  Why is the 'update vote' button not in the delegates section where the voting is done?  It would help if there was some little instructions that appear as you mouse over the 'vote all, vote none etc' so the wiki doesn't need to be read at the same time.  And what is the purpose of choosing a 'random selection'?  It seems to complicate the process pointlessly.  A user should be able to immediately understand that "vote all" means to vote for all the delegates you have approved and it should be one the same page.

Thanks for the feedback here... we do need to improve that.

So, I kept looking and found in my account the 'update vote' button,

what do you think of "half-life voting power" ? For instance , I vote with 1 million BTSX , after half a year or something , the votes automatically down to 0.5 million .  What's the point ? If big holder voted for a bad employee , and that voter forget his password of the wallet , that votes would've stayed there forever ....

You should have an option for "Use extra votes as delegates recommend".  The reason I'm not using all my votes is simply that I've only had time to personally evaluate and upvote maybe 5-10 delegates who've made themselves known on the forums.

Appropriate topic of discussion for election day, heh.

WOW!

I can see many more questions arising from this discussion about delegates and voting to add to those I've posted recently.

This really does strike at the heart of the DPoS model, as well as remind me of the reality TV shows like Survivor and Big Brother. Although the word "panopticon" is often used in the alt media to describe a self policing society and carries a negative connotation, it doesn't have to be so. Our community should be self policing / self monitoring to restrict evil doers from causing harm to others. And that requires a good system of communication and good sources of information.

Our BitShares community is shaping up to be a reflection of a global society, complete with those who promote positive and negative virtue. Let every member of this community work to build mechanisms to safeguard the positive virtue and eliminate the negative influences. That goes for devs, investors and marketers alike. We all share this ecosystem so lets not allow it to devolve where we're eating our own poo.

I'm glad BM is now quite aware of this discussion. I will be looking to him, toast and the other heavy weight thinkers in this community to address this, definitely before the BTSX client release at the end of the month but preferably ASAP.

Today is the first time reading this thread, and I find it quite disturbing.

The one good thing this turmoil has surfaced is that the DPoS system has weaknesses if we don't find a way to make voting for your desired delegates easier, but that taking control of a majority of delegates is rather hard.

I think this problem has been exacerbated by the language barrier. But that should serve as an important wake up call to BM and other devs as such issues will increase as people from other countries and languages start to use BitShares.

Vote decay, interesting.  That would slowly weed out votes from long lost stake.

The decay shouldn't start immediately. People would be transaction spamming to make their votes fresh, whenever there's a close race. Maybe it should start in 6 months, and decay over the next 6 months

This would encourage delegates to do regular 'Campaigns' every half-year to get people to re-vote for them, and would provide shareholders with good summaries as to what they accomplished over the past term.

decay is very expensive to implement in terms of CPU cycles per transaction.

You could just lower the resolution. It calculates decay in intervals of 7 days.

It would be very helpful if a member of the chinese community could confirm that!

Thanks for the clarifications so far ... +5%

I am well aware of the situation in the Chinese community. And I confirm with this post. All the delegates controlled by sfinder needs to be voted down, for the good of the community.
