Hi, was looking for any hints on how to fix my syncing issue on OSX 10.10.2, I'm stuck on block 2074412. More info here:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=15020.msg195147#msg195147
I've rebooted, rescanned, and reinstalled 0.7.0, nothing appears to work after upgrading from 0.6.2. Anyone else having this issue?
Thanks.

On Windows 7 x64 I tried

Keyhotee-0.7.100-win32.exe
Keyhotee-0.7.105-win32.exe

None of them start at all.
We've tested Keyhotee-0.7.100-win32.exe on several windows 7 x64 systems here and it seems to work fine.
It is working for me on Win7 x64, three systems. Desktop, Laptop, & a VM.

Does upgrading work yet? Or should we be uninstalling the old build before installing the new one?
It shouldn't really matter, but I would uninstall old versions just to avoid accidentally running them. I've updated the windows link, btw, to here:

ftp://178.63.85.22/Keyhotee/Windows/2014-04-27_00-00-43/Keyhotee-0.7.100-win32.exe
No worries, thanks. Yeah, the pinned icon was pointing to an old version. I was wondering why it wouldn't load the current version for a sec until I noticed the path.

I too got "The program can't start because MSVCP110.dll is missing from your computer" dialog. I grabbed the MS Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package from Microsoft and it works fine now.

Thanks for the response. I downloaded the MS Visual CC++ 2010 Redistributable package but I get again the same message "MSVCP110.dll is missing from your computer"... I did restart my pc.

Anything else I can do?

Try this one. Looks like it's Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4. Get the right one for your system x86 or x64.

I noticed I was not running 0.7.92, I guess it does not do an upgrade, so I uninstalled all versions, then the put the V C++ 2012 update, then installed latest Keyhotee. It's all working for me now.

Hi,

I have done a format to my pc and re installed Kehotee last version from the forum (0.7.92 i think). When I was downloading it came with a warning message that it could harm my pc. I have ignored it and downloaded anyway, but when I run it I got an error message that MSC...dll. something was missing from my pc.

Can you please redirect me to the latest version to me sure?

Thanks!
This was the link I just was sent in an email from BitShares on Keyhotee News.

As an maintainer of BitShares-PTS I want to make my position clear (I says the same in this threads 1-2 month ago):
It's not question of development time, I doesn't see any reason to change anything in current network.
Network has enough nodes and stable, transaction speed is good enought.

If your argument "We need to change ... because network will die", I'm disagree, let's wait and see.
I don't think it needs to be changed, of course I would like it to so I can mine more PTS in a shorter period of time, but I would rather them keep the focus and finish other projects before circling back to this. I'm a mine and hold type, not selling, having a very long term plan with these shares. I weight the difference between mining and paying electricity, or if it's too difficult, I stop and the money I would pay the electric company, I just buy PTS. It's a balance... I'm just hanging in there until PoS reigns supreme and us PoW miners are forced to retire the effort.

24
Yeah, it does suck. I don't like it at all, being the miner type, but I don't see them pulling away the resources needed from other projects to fix the issue for the remaining 19%. Correct me if I'm wrong but, it's a fork, and a client update for all. Sounds like a week or more of work for a lateral movement instead of pushing forward on BTSX, Keyhotee, etc. :-\

BitShares PTS / Re: What is BitShares PTS (proto-shares)?
« on: March 20, 2014, 05:30:52 pm »
So where to buy PTS? On crypsty and then send them to my wallet ?

How profitable is to put a DigitalOcean droplet to mine ?

Yes, Cryptsy or another exchange. Then send to your wallet.
It is not profitable to mine on a droplet anymore. You need lots of hardware these days.

Question.... I've been running on ypool, avg about 4500c/min. And getting 1 PTS every 30hrs or so.
Is the other pools a better option, should I switch? Would appreciate any comments! Thanks!

Try it out for a couple days and see if you like it. I was over there for a while, but have been here longer, like several months now. This pool just feels more transparent, like you can see what is going on. (Payouts, earnings, overall pool stats, hall of fame, etc) Pool OP is very responsive to issues. Just my .002 millabits, YMMV.  8)

This solves the problem of Bitshares not being mineable

 :'(
Correct me if I'm wrong about the concept, but aren't we talking about mining PoW chain(s) and getting paid via PoS?  :-\

One reason Bitshares isn't popular on Bitcointalk and other places compared to Ethereum and some of the alt coins is that miners seem to have been pissed off about the fact that Bitshares isn't minable. Mining is a subculture and the mining faction apparently is the king maker when it comes to marketing new coins. They seem to make up the bulk of the traders on exchanges.

So you market directly to miners by allowing them to mine for Bitshares. It simultaneously markets Bitshares on a grass roots viral level, it allows people who have all this hashing power something to use it on and then they don't need Crypsy because they can just use Bitshares. Bitshares is a decentralized exchange and people who like to trade will want Bitshares and need a way to get them.

I have a mining rig, I'm sure many people here do. So while we can mine some other coin or Bitcoin and sell it for Bitshares on Cryptsy, when we get to Cryptsy it's like the shopper who walks into a supermarket. You end up seeing all these better deals then you forget you wanted Bitshares and end up trading some other more profitable stuff.

But if your mining pool pays out in Bitshares, you're more likely to just save the Bitshares in BitGold, or trade directly in the Bitshares client. You may even be able to automate the pool so it automatically fuels your Bitshares client. This would keep a continuous steady stream of Bitshares flowing into your Bitshares client and you wouldn't have to do anything.

The mining pool could display ads, a DAC index and other information to keep people in the trading mood and by stealth advertise Bitshares. When new DACs arrive ads on these multipool sites would reach the exact demographic you want.

To answer your question. Sorta, but that is what everyone does anyway. How do you think people ended up buying the top coins on Coinmarketcap? They either mined it, or if it's Proof of Stake they have to buy it, often with profits from mining PoW chains.

This streamlines the process through automation. You just set your mining rig up and the BTS will flow into your wallet. The benefit to this is that the price of BTS wont go down because people will always be buying it. Bitshares is very hard to dump due to it's utility, but if no one tries it out no one discovers that utility.
Yes, us miners are a funky bunch. ::) I've been doing it since 2011 through all the advancements (CPU/GPU/FPGA/ASIC) and I can't see myself doing anything else hobby wise that intrigues my need to tinker and tune gear for optimal profit. Being in IT for 25+ I guess I fell into my element.

I really like this concept you are talking about. I myself would rather it be some type of P2Pool only mining, where miners just "plug in" with a central management client. You point all your various rigs at your client and that is where you manage rig stats & alerts, monitor earnings, plus handling exchanging, DAC integration plug-ins, etc. I would rather not have to deal with exchanges like we have to do today and be taxed more, nor the issues with a consolidation of hashing power in the hands of the most popular pool(s). Let's keep it decentralized.

Here is a thread that has identified a means for miners to mine BTS:

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=3587.msg45111#msg45111

The reality is that people can mine anything and trade it for PTS.   Miners should always mine what is most profitable so they can maximize their ROI.

That said it seems like we could benefit everyone by converting PTS to TaPOS and then allowing those who want to invest by mining to mine one of the other coins out there... NoirShares, DOGE, etc and then buy PTS on BTER.   In fact, making such a move would increase the value of PTS in the long term by 30%.

What would everyone think about such an idea?
I think it's a great idea. I have sort of been doing that, mining Alts, since this whole mess started at the last diff increase. I've converted all my PTS rigs to Scrypt and pointed everything at http://ScryptGuild.com. It's a great auto-switch Scrypt pool run by Eleuthria, the OP of BTCGuild. It mines the most profitable Alts, and you get paid in BTC. Then feel free to buy PTS or whatever.

But I really like the idea of getting paid in BTS. Where can I get more info on how to setup a BTS pool? I'm not a programmer but we can run it by him and see if he wants to add support. We need to get the right people talking to each other to make it happen. If it's not much overhead, and there is profit to be made, he'll most likely do it. I'm sure he wants to get into some next level stuff.

Why fork a chain that is almost done? There is like 22% of the 2 Mil remaining and then it's pretty much Proof of Stake at that point right? How does making it faster to mine the remaining shares help us long term? I'm not trolling, please help me understand what I am missing.
