General Discussion / Coinmarketcap listing
« on: September 11, 2014, 07:48:50 pm »
CMC seems to vary its marketcap for Bitshares X, currently its at 2000,000,000 - which I guess is incorrect. Any way we can influence the accuracy?

Interesting idea... You will gain much support here for the PTS and AGS allocation - good luck!

General Discussion / Re: Interest on BitUSD - A Proposal for Review
« on: September 06, 2014, 03:54:53 pm »
...Finally, consider what would happen if, someday in the future, inflation goes high (which forces nominal interest rates to rise--they will need to be above inflation in equilibrium). Would interest on BitUSD still be competitive if traditional interest rates rise to 10%, 15%, 20%?

Therefore, BitUSD interest might be dynamically adjusted, based on an intuitive, honest and public algorithm - rather than being set at a constant 5%. This might ultimately influence confidence in a self-regulating system, as there would be less risk of knee-jerk corrections down the line.

Time to try again for an independent section on Bitshares, as per BTC, LTC, PPC?

General Discussion / Re: BitShares X inactivity fees?
« on: August 27, 2014, 05:54:40 pm »
Just for clarity, to avoid 5% inactivity fee, can we just move 1 bts around from each account - or do all bitshares need to be moved each year?

General Discussion / Overview of Bitshares Asset listings
« on: August 27, 2014, 10:44:46 am »
I looked on the Bitshares wiki and searched for "assets" there are didn't find too much just yet (I appreciate it's just been launched, so these are just suggestions). I just wanted a bit more info, for example, what is the precise fee structure for asset creating and for trading? how does or will this fee structure vary in time? what is the benefit to the creator for creating an asset? i.e. do delegates take all the asset transaction fees generated, or is there a split for the creator of the asset? Also, I may have missed an asset listing page with details / summary of all assets - but if not generated yet, it would be helpful to have links to this information directly from the Bitshares client.

General Discussion / Re: What if the market-peg doesn't work?

Could you build these features into the system anyway, so that its an automatic fail-safe that kicks-in at a certain stage if necessary, to account for any future eventuality?

General Discussion / Re: Negative Post about Bitshares

By way of explanation, this article was posted by a founder of Eris Industries:

http://www.linkedin.com/company/eris-industries?trk=ppro_cprof

"Eris Industries designs and builds distributed autonomous organisations (DAOs) and smart contract solutions for corporate and institutional applications using advanced technology to reduce client costs with a specialization in the finance, insurance, and construction sectors."

"Eris Industries was founded by Casey Kuhlman, Dennis McKinnon and Preston Byrne after its founders designed, built, and deployed the world's first useable DAO platform."

This platform reportedly runs on .... Ethereum:

General Discussion / BitSilver
« on: August 16, 2014, 07:44:26 pm »
http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/market_reports/71349/silver-pricing-enters-the-electronic-age-0000.html

"Futures giant Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Thomson Reuters and the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) will now run the show through an electronic, auction-based and auditable systems."

This system uses an anonymous auction to help set prices, maybe they read about Bitshares! There is mention of rounds of auctions and then a price fix at midday. Just wondered if there was any technical reason for a price "fix" at set times, i.e. why not have a continuously adjusted price.

LottoShares / Latest client link for Lottoshares
« on: July 31, 2014, 08:56:26 pm »
Any chance that a link could be stickied somewhere here to the latest downloadable wallet for Lottoshares? I am having a few sync issues, simple guide to fixing this also would be appreciated.

Currently, what is the situation with losing shares automatically if people don't vote? Do you have to move Bitshares around from one account to another once a year still? (all of them, or just say 1?). Does a warning appear on the account to notify people when they should vote by? If this rule stands, a lot of people will lose out, and I don't -personally- think it is fair not to include some sort of warning or status measure to say when accounts might have funds automatically deducted. More clarity within the wallet itself I think might help here.

General Discussion / Why should I vote for you?
« on: July 26, 2014, 07:52:17 pm »
I want to vote for someone who isn't already a top 100 delegate. A brief pitch why here, might persuade me to cast a vote.
