I agree with and support bitcrab's proposal, including replacing refund400k and using the 240k BTS to create 50k bitCNY on a daily basis. Much better use of the BTS than returning to the reserve pool and moreover will let the community monitor progress and impact of the open market operations with a relatively small but gradually increasing number of BTS. Please implement as soon as possible, this is exactly what Bitshares needs!

I would support and vote for bitcrab's proposal and would further suggest using reserve funds to create enough of an initial trading stake for the management efforts to have a worthwhile impact. Moving 100M BTS from the reserve fund to a committee CNY trading account would have no noticeable impact on the Bitshares community but would allow bitcrab to begin manually managing immediately.

Using the reserve to borrow bitUSD and bitCNY to increase liquidity is a better option. Take $20M reserve BTS and create a ton of USD and CNY, sell at the feed price.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Compliance Work
« on: October 17, 2017, 09:33:22 am »
This is confused - there is very little about 'compliance' ie TXSRB/STOKENs that Michael/Stan are working on, and a lot on getting listed on exchanges.

I would suggest dropping the compliance and focus just on getting listed.

But don't try and get BTS listed. Been there done that, the exchanges that don't have BTS don't have it for a reason - we compete with their core business.

What may be worthwhile is getting the exchanges to list bitUSD and bitCNY.

I would support a bounty worker that pays $50k USD for each exchange that lists bitUSD and bitCNY... but... the exchange has to do >$100M USD 24 hr volume. Bithumb, Bitfinex, Bittrex, Polo, Coinone, HitBTC, Korbit, Kraken, GDAX.

It would be much better to create global demand for bitUSD and bitCNY than to try and beat a dead horse. If major exchanges start using bitUSD instead of USDT the amount of BTS locked away as collateral will cause BTS to moon very quickly. There is freaking half a billion dollars of USDT floating around right now, even 10% of that action would move BTS substantially.

I agree and would vote for this. Ideally Bitshares would work just like Polo - deposit, trade, withdraw any coins directly without any funny business or the user ever knowing there was a smartcoin in the middle.

6
I would suggest contacting Bill Butler or opening an issue on github https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-ui/releases/tag/2.0.171001

TrueFX has free real-time (multiple updates per second) forex quotes, but only for a limited number of pairs: http://webrates.truefx.com/rates/connect.html?f=html

They also have free downloadable tick data for the same pairs, going back to May 2009: http://truefx.com/?page=downloads

You can get real-time quotes for a larger selection of pairs from FXCM: http://rates.fxcm.com/RatesXML

Realtime rates for about 40 currency pairs are available here: http://1forge.com/forex-data-api, eg: https://1forge.com/forex-quotes/quotes

They also have free downloadable tick-data, going back to 2007, but you need to create a demo account and use a COM based Windows API called Order2Go to retrieve it.

They promised that they will make available the same tick data in CSV format for free sometime this year here: http://www.forexcodesource.com/index.php/Category:Historical_Data

Wonder if we could create a worker to fund using something like this:

https://www.xignite.com/forex/product#ka0400000008SmZAAU

$3k per year would be easy to do via a worker and we would have at least one very, very solid feed that we never have to worry about.

$3k gets 1000 API hits per month, so all witnesses could hit it a few times per day to keep things in line.

For $13k/year witnesses could basically have a real time feed with unlimited API hits

I am a long time Bitshares community member with less than average technical skills; I butchered the BTS 1->2 migration and lost a bunch of BTS. Worse, I was also unable to claim any of my NOTE/MUSE tokens from the AGS/PTS sharedrop.

Julien fixed it all for me... on Saturday afternoon (today!) and I couldn't be happier with the service and results.

If you are having any trouble with your wallets or claiming share drops I highly recommend contacting Julien. He is quick, honest and great to work with.

Thanks again!

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: July 2017 Update
« on: July 28, 2017, 06:04:31 pm »
When I copy/paste the AGS donation address private key into the Muse web wallet nothing happens. The only option is to click the green "Cancel" button. What am I missing?

I get the same thing - I copy/paste AGS or PTS private key and nothing happens. The only option is to click the green "cancel" button.

Not sure how this is working for everyone else? There is no button to "enter" or proceed etc.

Sorry folks, Bitshares is ok. I didn't understand how the number of BTS were represented in the wallet (collateral vs. balance).

But... the 69 HERO purchase was because I got called. Beware shorting! It is dangerous in thin markets.

Thank you!

I wanted to support Stan's HERO project, so I borrowed 500 HERO into existence. I then sold them at 520BTS/HERO for about 260,000 BTS.

The sell order is in Block #17657423 and the fill transaction is in Block #17657508. Everything looks good.

Except I did not receive the 260,000 BTS.

Now I have zero of the HERO tokens, as they were transferred out of my account, but I owe 500 HEROs.

It gets worse:

Just now my account is telling my I bought 69 HERO at 528 BTS/HERO in Block #17662834

I did not enter this order and, if you look at the block, there is no order nor a fill for 69 HEROs by me or anyone else.

But my account balance has dropped by about 4000 BTS.

Please help me understand what has happened - I'm getting seriously concerned that I have just seen 500 HERO and 260,000 BTS vanish from my account and a trade that I did not make suddenly appear.

What the hell is going on?!

General Discussion / Re: btsbots wallet release v0.0.1
« on: December 20, 2016, 01:25:41 pm »
Ok, now I'm really confused. Sell order on btsbots site does nothing - does not create an order and I can't seem to sell any COMPUCEEDS manually.

Setting the bot per my previous post with 30 spread and smaller orders of 300-600 CNY does nothing.

Now I just tried to use the DEX to sell the COMPUCEEDS and guess what? Can't sell. Price of COMPUCEEDS just shows up as 0.000000, apparently unit price is below the DEX precision. This whole situation is seeming really, really fishy. The bot seems to have just allowed the COMPUCEEDS issuer to dump a shitload of worthless tokens at my expense.

What the hell is going on? I need an answer as to why a market making bot purchased more than 5 BILLION COMPUCEEDS and didn't do any actual market making.

Did I get scammed somehow?

Why choice so much.please only choice:
USD/BTS
PEERPLAYS/BTS
CNY/BTS

I started running the bot with just USD and CNY, but I really wanted to help with liquidity in the less liquid markets. So once I was comfortable with the USD/CNY pairs I fired up the other markets and let it run for a while. No good deed goes unpunished.

I just don't understand why the bot largely ignored every other market and bought up billions of compuceeds. It makes no sense, I feel like I've been scammed somehow. I see lots of bots trading in the compuceed market and they don't seem to be acquiring huge balances. I also can't see anything I did wrong, same settings for all trading pairs.
