General Discussion / Re: Any non spam posts I should read here?
« on: October 26, 2016, 04:52:57 am »
wow Thanks all for responding... when I read/got through the last 100 posst I was hoping [but not really expecting] for at least a single answer. So once again Thanks to all helping me not go through 10 tons of shit to find nothing! I do appreciate it.

@mf-tzo - you are on a roller coaster man... last thing I read from you was highly optimistic post of yours on Steemit [and yes, I do read Steemit a bit more often than btsforum.... mainly because of the amusement factor which is 10x higher right now (for what I find amusing in/with Steem read the next paragraph)] praising both BTS and Steem as a great buy... LOL What changed your mind? Sudden drop in blood pressure (and by pressure I mean price falling like a rock...rock falling on a planet 5x bigger than earth with no atmosphere?

@lil_jay890 I do not remember what you called (expected from/for) Steem in its early days... but it has always been my take that "Steem will be one of the most spectacular failures that the crypto world has ever seen (and crypto has seen more than its fair share of all kinds of BS as you know). Weirdly enough these posts of mine are now no where to be found on bitsharestalk.org ????
Come on tonyk, Steemit's success should be judged by the wallets of those that premined  - sorry "secured" - 90% of the tokens and got to slowly but steadily dump them on the market the past several months.

General Discussion / Re: The death of Bitshares

I use bitshares daily and find it an invaluable tool in my crypto life. Near as I can tell it's not going anywhere.

Daily? - yet it is so invaluable that it is worth posting here for you only 1 time in the past 7 months. WItness = Retired :)
Cryptofresh shows you use OL about once a month at this point.

For those that were Steem insiders, everything is seemingly just peachy around here.

General Discussion / Re: How do I claim vested balances from merger?

Try this one.
Go to Settings- Wallet Management Console
Search for Balance Claims button (third on the right) -Lookup Balances
Click on this - there you have unclaimed balances

Very much appreciated.  :)

General Discussion / How do I claim vested balances from merger?
« on: September 30, 2016, 12:48:41 am »
Months ago it was easy to find on OpenLedger how to claim vesting balances for the 2 year vesting from the merger. A few months ago, OpenLedger was updated and I can no longer figure out how to do this.

I have multiple accounts in my wallet, the 'main account' which has a lifetime membership I can see says vesting balances but doesn't show my vesting balance from the merger. However, that was not the account that I originally imported my btsx to and not the account that I used to claim vesting balances in the past. The account that I imported my btsx private key to was just a regular account, when I click on Vesting balances it says this account has no vesting balances....however, I can clearly see in my Overview for this account a long list of many of these type of transactions: "XXX claimed a balance of XXX BTS 3 months ago - 0 BTS" from when I claimed the balances in the past.

Please help me understand what I have to do if you know, thank you.

And owned over 99% by the developers who paid the exchanges handsomely to list it...or so I heard.

General Discussion / Re: Steemit's Plan
« on: July 10, 2016, 08:57:58 pm »
Not bad at all...

actually it's pretty bad for a coin that premined 90% of them .
In my experience , coins have that much premine would increase 100x in value at least .
Not sure why you insist on the 90% number while people repeatedly claim a way smaller percentage .. the quote kind of just proofs the fact that they dont have 90%

Not sure why you don't?
We have secured ~80% of the initial STEEM via mining.
80% before announcing, you gotta figure they added at least another 10% since that moment.

Get Rich Quick Steem

Waves, Lisk, Ethereum, Augur... every half-as-skilled-as-me dev was being thrown boatloads of money at, it was time for Dan to get his. Plain and simple. By owning 90% and selling it off, he can walk away anytime without being beholden to investors like he was with BTS.

Probably had to do with the Ripple news, for whatever that is worth.

He is probably zoomed in or zoomed out or something.

Before July 4, who is doing most of the selling?

We have secured ~80% of the initial STEEM via mining.  Our plan is to...sell 20%.

I think the powers that be did not anticipate a paltry 3-10 bitcoin worth of STEEM trading volume per day.

STEEM!

Technical Support / Re: Bitshares and OpenLedger

BitShares is a public blockchain operated by it's shareholders.
Open Ledger is a CCEDK company built on BitShares' open platform.
Both use free software provided to the industry by Cryptonomex.
There is no formal relationship between any of them.

Stan words this in such a way that like usual there is some key point he is hiding between the lines. I do not think CNX created OL for CCEDK and are not receiving a big piece of the action.

It is to their benefit that they keep the OL wallet linked on the home page.

I tried for the first time to use Ethereum a couple of weeks ago to get some DAO, but I couldn't figure out how to successfully send the ethers from the Mist wallet to the DAO address after several attempts and a considerable amount of time reading how to. Gave up and sent the ether back to the exchange.
