If you are using bitshares you are certainly not "blind" anymore :)

Here's my guess why Ethereum attracts so much attention... based on the idiotness of crypto traders

"Ethereum" sounds much more badass and techy than "bitshares"

"Vitalik Buterin" sounds much more mysterious and cool than "Danny Larimer"

Just my "Judge a book by it's cover" evalutation.  If your going to invest in a crypto, you might as well buy the coolest sounding one so you can sound extra cool when explaining it to your hip millennial friends at your local sodosopa.

They get excited when they  hear:

"Even Microsoft is invested on Ethereum"  :P

PS Can we troll that: "Bill Gates wants to see Daniel Larimer also..." ?

Daily volume is listed at $2,

Yes but in reality it's about $2000... they exclude "yunbis" volume because they are not charging trading fees...(?!)

How about "Liquid"

I like it too but I think a synonym will be a better choice for international users... what about...

if you don't like it what about...

metaSlices  or  metaSlice

because what matters is the value of "our" shares in the future (meta=after)...
shares will include our meta-profits ... I hope  :)

The prefix comes from the Greek preposition and prefix meta- (μητά-), from μητά,[2] which meant "after", "beside", "with", "among" (with respect to the preposition, some of these meanings were distinguished by case marking). Other meanings include "beyond", "adjacent" and "self", and it is also commonly used in the form μητα- as a prefix in Greek, with variants μητ- before vowels and μηθ- "meth-" before aspirated vowels.
"The earliest attested form of the word "meta" is the Mycenaean Greek me-ta, written in Linear B syllabic script.[3] The Greek preposition is cognate with the Old English preposition mid "with", still found as a prefix in midwife. Its use in English is the result of back-formation from the word "metaphysics". In origin Metaphysics was just the title of one of the principal works of Aristotle; it was so named (by Andronicus of Rhodes) simply because in the customary ordering of the works of Aristotle it was the book following Physics; it thus meant nothing more than "[the book that comes] after [the book entitled] Physics". However, even Latin writers misinterpreted this as entailing that metaphysics constituted "the science of what is beyond the physical".[4] Nonetheless, Aristotle's Metaphysics enunciates considerations of natures above physical realities, which can be examined through this particular part of philosophy, e.g., the existence of God. The use of the prefix was later extended to other contexts based on the understanding of metaphysics to mean "the science of what is beyond the physical"."

see also:

Meta (pronounced MEH-tah in the U.S. and MEE-tah in the U.K.) derives from Greek, meaning "among, with, after, change." Whereas in some English words the prefix indicates "change" (for example, metamorphosis), in others, including those related to data and information, the prefix carries the meaning of "more comprehensive or fundamental."

PS it comes meta-after bitshares  ...  the meta-morfosis of bitshares !!!

Chameleon is actually a cool name. I think this is the kind of little things that in the end can make the difference. They seem insignificant but can definitely have an impact.

Yep remove '2.0.160216'

If we don't do it ... another  will...

"A new Australian political party has proposed the introduction of a token-based political system based on the concept of decentralised blockchain technology.
Called the Flux Party, the new entity has already attracted more than the 500 members it needs to potentially place senate candidates on ballots in all the country's states."

General Discussion / Re: Using Casper Protocol for Secure Price Feeds
« on: February 17, 2016, 06:13:35 pm »
In our initial experiments with BitUSD we saw that without a price feed or settlement it is possible for market participants to "short the USD to 0".  The economic feedback loop we conceived failed if one side or the other in the market had more strength and could push the price around and "wait out" the other party.

Personally I am not convinced that it failed....
I think we don't tested it enough... We had to little volume and we gave to the experiment not enough time...
about the possibility to the market to "short the USD to 0" that would be in reality only some "spikes" to zero(?) no?
(everything is possible to the market, but does it make sense?"Nobody" wants to loose money)

A. You misunderstood what I was saying and pretty much repeated the same thing I said, but added sunny skies and rainbows. Someone that wanted to monopolize the BTS volume traded on centralized exchanges may come along sooner than you think, and there is no way of stopping them.

How are they going to do that when you cannot transfer the asset?

holding bitAssets like any indivindual?No?

"What is good instead is dilution to the max" he says. "

So it will make only sense to hold/buy  bitAssets and/or ... dump/sell BTS.... (?)
